We stayed here for a few days in August and wished we could have stayed a bit longer before continuing on our way to Sagres, because it was so lovely. The people were friendly and helpful. The location was great. The beach right out front was a great way to start and finish off the day. Just down the path...

Loved it here!!! Amazing beach access (literally right out of the back yard) including towels you can take down and umbrellas you can borrow. Beach is beautiful, great waves. Also has two restaurants right on beach. Villa is just beautiful and very clean. Friendly staff. Delish homemade breakfast included. They can also make simple and delicious lunch/dinner upon request. Lagos is one of Algaves loveliest towns and beach Praia de Porto de Mós one of the best beaches - and Villa Esmeralda is perfectly located right next to the beach. The best about this hotel is the fantastic location. Literally only a few steps away from a very nice sandy beach. This beach hosts also two restaurants with excellent fish and sea food, which are very good dinner options if you stay at this hotel. The hotel itself is clean and the staff is very friendly. stayed at the villa weith a group of golfers. A small family hotel which i rate as the best in the algarve. Very clean and great service from a small team of ladies.Nothing is to much trouble for them.Perfectly situated in the middle of many fantasic golf courses. Thanks for everything. shaun

Sent an email on 14th March...we have guests who cannot stay at our guest house in Lagos as we are full, no reply from Vila Esmerelda, called them on the 15th in the evening,,,said they are full, they are not...only two cars outside...they would not give me the owners name or contact details...we have customers for them but the local...

The hotel is situated in a quiet location a good mile or so from central Lagos. You cannot walk along the headland according to the owner, so it takes around 20/30 mins . The owner is German and most of the guests when we were there were also, not that that was a problem in any way as their English...
