Hostel 33 belongs to a team of Portuguese experts working in tourism field for over 15 years. Our target is to make you feel like if you are visiting a Portuguese family's home. The hostel 33 is housed in a 60 years building, completely renewed but keeping it's background outside and inside with vintage furniture, chandeleirs and the famous Portuguese tiles! Our mixed rooms are on the ground floor, very spacious and decorated in relaxing colours. The major bathroom has space for 2 showers simultaneously, besides the second option,on the same ground level. If you want more privacy,we suggest you our twin rooms on the first floor, all with private bathroom, and each of them with an outdoor terrace where you can enjoy our delightful sun's light. We're outgoing people,we like to socialize,to share experiences with you,so, do come and seat in the lobby for a while,to chat,to read a book from our 'book swap library',check the latest news on our info board..or eventually join us and other guests with a glass of Portuguese wine. And what to say about Faro town, capital of our province, where we're located?Definitely the best and most central spot to star your visit in the Algarve. Ten minutes away,by car, from the airport and the beach where you'll have multiple choices on water activities: cannoing, body board, windsurfing, and even walking or cycling tours in our nature trails of Ria Formosa. You'll end up extending your stay in here!

Very rude staff they never give you a receipt/bill for your payment. They do not provide hand wash towel and Soap. Too noisy and too much light at night in the hostel and street lights you can't sleep very well.

The only good thing about this place is location. It is close to the bus and train station, and to the city center. And, that is all. Staff only seems to be nice. But, when we asked about the heater, the lady working there tried to convince us that it is not cold, and when she brought a heater to us, tried to convince us the owner bought it just for us. Room was spacious, but did not smell nice. We could not see anything from our room, except the sky, because the balcony was completely closed with a two meter wall, and balcony door was the only window in the room. Bed was very uncomfortable - it is basically a wooden board off the ground with very thin mattress over it. It is not very clean. Room and the common areas (kitchen) were dirty. Lady working there asked us not to use kitchen after 10 pm, and then the staff including her did that. Soundproofing was very weak, and we could often hear other guests slamming doors in the night. Even though the price was not very high, it was not worth the money we paid.

It was more difficult to find the place than other hostels, however, when I arrived I was given all relevant information - breakfast times, bed number, check out time etc. The beds were comfortable, had sockets at the end of each one, a shared fan in the room which we didn’t need to use and a locker provided next to the bed. All bed linen was provided and there were 3 bathrooms with showers, which was more than enough for all of us to use, there was never a queue. The breakfast was simple with as much bread/toast, jam, butter, Nutella, different types of cereal and yogurt available. The staff were so friendly and the hostel was quite small compared with other ones I had been in so we all knew each other which made it so much better. It was always so clean and there weren’t times that you had to be out of the room (some places I’ve stayed in you had to be away for the cleaning hours 1200-1500 for example). The outdoor terrace area was a good place to chill at night with everyone. There was a beer machine which the hostel had, also non-alcoholic options which you could buy. The location was great, less than a 5 minute walk from the train and bus stations and very close to the centre. Near Faro marina and I would recommend the desert Island tour from one of the huts along the front.

This was a pleasant place. I stayed in the private room that had the in room bath. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The breakfast was nice. The Wi-Fi in the second floor left a bit to be desired though. They sell beer and wine and soft drinks so you can have a bit to drink right there. Also it is close to them main area of the marina and shopping district. But not so close that you'll be awake at night. l would stay there again.

Travelling through Faro I had a late night landing and an early train ride booked. This was just what I needed. It was a short walk from the bus stop which was opposite the railway station, so a short walk back to the station in the morning. I stayed in the communal bunk room which had lockers and a power outlet to charge my phone over night. The kitchen and the shower room was spotless. There Was a rooftop patio area with tables and benches, wicker furniture and a BBQ. There was another courtyard area just off the kitchen. The reception area had comfy sofas and you could buy cold drinks, beer and wine. The staff were English speaking, friendly and helpful with local knowledge. I will be staying here again in the future, which should say it all! Clean, basic, comfy. Perfect. Unfortunately I don't have many pictures. Just the kitchen and rooftop.
