Da Gale is a small beach hotel. Its style is very Portuguese, it has 60 double and triple rooms, with or without balcony, and almost all have a sea view. All rooms have their own private bathroom with bathtub, a telephone, safety box and cable TV. The top floor is home to the Navy Bar, with its panoramic view. This is where we serve breakfast and create a friendly relaxing atmosphere right through to until midnight, with background music to soothe you as you gaze out to sea and across the marvellous Albufeira coastline.

WARNING ⚠️
Worst customer service I've ever experienced
I came back to the hotel with my son on day two with some beers and when entering reception i was practically chased by the owner shouting and screaming at me bringing beer to my room.
He kept shouting Portuguese law you cannot bring alcohol into this hotel and was very aggressive about it.

The bar in the hotel only opens at 4pm and closes at 12 so there is no way to purchase a drink from the hotel.
Not even a bottle of water is sold here and also no food available full stop apart from the horrible breakfast.

The coffee machine must take 2 minutes to produce one cup and the orange juice which you would think would be fresh was watered down and basically is worse than diluted juice. You get a choice of horrible cornflakes or chocolate cereal and then some bread.

We had maintenance banging and hammering outside our room from 10am which didn't surprise me by this stage and we also had maintenance again open our room door at 8am by mistake on our last day.

The bar at night had literally one person in it and when we tried to grab some water after being out the bar was closed at 23:20 and the barman refused us access even tho it was meant to be open until 12.

Also on day 3 there still hadn't been a maid to the room so we had to ask for fresh towels and bed sheets from reception.

I tried not to make this review long and boring but it's impossible and I've other things like no A/C skinny little beds and about a million steps to climb everytime we returned to the hotel. The biggest thing for me was the manager out screaming at me about bringing some beer back to my room and making a complete show of me and my son.

Simply this is by far the worst place I've ever stayed in my 45 years on this planet and i advise everyone to stay well clear of this hotel. The Jardim round the corner where my friend and wife stayed was the place to be and we spent most of our time there so not to ruin our holiday because of the hotel horror show at Hotel Da Gale.

Basically the manager who made it very clear that this is a two star as did the bar man and this isn't even a one star 😳 the other staff and cleaners were lovely but that is the only plus. My beer is stashed in the hedge halfway down the big steps if anyone is interested lol

Worst hotel we have ever stayed at! Completely unengaged staff who do not even greet the guests. Have been asking for the cleaning of the room for two days!!! 5 times they have asked which room it is! Told at breakfast that the juice was out, this despite the fact that we were the first to arrive that morning - no juice appeared until the next day and then in a diluted version.
Asked for pool towels. A deposit of €10 per towel was to be paid, which of course we wanted a receipt for - it took the guy 14 minutes to write such a receipt.
Broken toilet seat when we arrived - took 2 days to get it fixed even though we arrived on a weekday.
Our advice; stay away from here if you want to avoid all the annoyances - because they will come, we promise!

I don't even know where to start because this Pension is such a disaster. Upon arrival, the welcome is icy, almost non-existent. The staff seems totally selfless and makes no effort to make your stay enjoyable.

The room was simply unsanitary. The walls were stained, the bedding smelled moldy, and there were bugs everywhere. The furniture is old, damaged and totally uncomfortable. The bathroom was even worse: mold on the walls, barely functional shower, and dirty towels.

Let's not even talk about the constant noise, whether from the outside or the other rooms. Can't close the eye of the night with the constant din. The walls are so thin you can hear everything the neighbors say and do.

Breakfast is a real joke: few choices, poor quality products, and a dining room as sad as the whole establishment. I didn't even dare taste their coffee, considering the state of the other foods.

As for the pool, it was simply impassable. The water was cloudy, the sun loungers were broken and the environment dirty.

And to top it all off, check-in is between 2pm and 11pm. If, unfortunately, you arrive after 11pm, get ready to sleep outside! I myself had to spend a sleepless night wandering the streets, because the Pension was simply closed. No assistance, no solution. A real shame!

In short, this Inn is a disgrace. He doesn't even deserve a star. If you want to spend a pleasant holiday in Albufeira, look for another place to stay. Award-quality ratio is non-existent, even when paying a pittance, it is still too expensive for what it is. I strongly advise against it!

The worst hotel manager i have ever met in my life. After over booking their hotel rooms and having no room for us we got verbally abused by the worst manager i have ever come across in any business. No respect and complete disregard for his own staff, belittelling them and reprimanding them in the reception area infront of guests, this man should never work in a toursim industry.
He cancelled our booking withour our consent and left us with no accommodation for the night in Mid august .
AVOID THIS HOTEL!!!!!!

Wow! Where do I even start… Put this a simply way, worst Hotel EVER!
Bugs all over the floor, unclean bathroom , bedsheets ahead stains on them , all the staff apart from Natalie and Leonarda were totally ignorant, rude and agressive about nothing.
Breakfast isn’t even real , one stale croissant, a dollop of curdled yogurt and cold earl grey tea. After confronting the staff and asking why they told us we would be able to have a choice of English breakfast and others varieties of food , they mocked me and my boyfriend in their own language as my boyfiend spoke Portuguese. This poorly managed hotel needs to be shut down to the public and these ignorant workers need to be fired instantly. PLEASE read this and keep in mind you should definitely fall for it being cheap and good location , you will be sick of this place in the first hour. Just want to add , avoid room 321 if you know what me and soon to be finance got up to in that room. We were fooling about in the room and one of the workers knocked and asked if we were having se* and asked to join in as it would be fun. This made me feel sick as he could hear all my moans.

This manager - Carvalho Serquira - should be fired. He was so rude to me and my family after over booking the hotel and therefore we didnt have a room. His exact words were 'Why did you book here? Because it was cheap? This is what you get for a cheap hotel'

We were verbally abused. He treats his staff so poorly in front of all customers and should not be allowed to work in hospitality at all. His staff are so afraid of him. Please rather just pay more somewhere else, until this man is fired nobody should support this hotel.

I arrived at the hotel on Tuesday October 22 about 17 to check in as soon as I entered was told that the hotel was closed for maintenance, no one informed me anything the payment was already made! They asked me to move to the apartments Regina where by choice of the group transferred me there, I asked about the breakfast that was included they told me that around 8:00 they would leave there, I chose to stay in the hotel because I like to be myself choosing what I want to eat! The pool was dirty, the card to open the entrance door from the street to the apartment did not and sincerely nso know how one can rate from 3 stars! Very negative note

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! Was informed by hotel to email or ring them to arrange late check in if arriving after 8pm, I did this and received a reply to say that I had to email them on the day of arrival. I did this; and whatsapped them and tried calling them all day until my flight departed. They completely ignored, we then arrived for them to refuse to check us in, they then put as down as a ‘no show’ and cancelled the rest of our stay and refused to refund us any money!! We were left stranded on the first night, and then had to pay out AGAIN for a different hotel for the rest of our stay. The hotel staff were disgustingly rude, they were laughing at us when they knew our situation. Absolute scam of a hotel and by other reviews I can see they are continuously doing this to many people!!

Awful hotel. Greeted (if even) by a rude receptionist. Room was dull, outdated and uncomfortable. Bathroom was the only nice thing about the room (besides the door not physically closing and being stuck wide open) we had to go to a new hotel over this! Lasted ONE night, AVOID wasn’t even cheap to stay.

As stated it is a two star hotel and in need of updating.
The breakfast was very basic but served its purpose. And a lovely view from there and the pool.
Our room was very warm as outside the window there was a roof, so no air circulating.
Bathroom had been updated and very good. Lots of hot water. Our beds were comfy and the room was very clean.
In a good position for the old center of Albufeira where it all happens and so many restaurants to choose from. But it’s uphill back , nothing too steep though.
And to the lovely beach 5 mins which has a lift from the top.
All the staff were so lovely and could not do enough for us.
They are all a credit to this hotel.

If you arrive 8 pm you have to write them in advance and get the agreement or else they will provide the room to someone else. Same happened to me my flight arrived 10.30 pm they have not allowed me room. For same room they are taking money from 2 persons.

No, if you have pre-paid for your stay that should be it but if you use the safe they charge €2 per day for that. Hope that helps!
