The hotel service was impeccable. Clean rooms, variety of food...beach very close. My friend and I had an amazing time. The aesthetics of this hotel is incredible. We would come back again. Very nice!
Perfect location ( just meters away from Salgados beach) Very good breakfast and dinner ( we had half board) Very nice service. Rooms were also very nice. Hearing the noise of the waves during the night was just incredible. Parking space free in front of the hotel.
We found birthday cake and wine in our room, which was really kind of them. The hotel is refurbished, modern, and clean throughout. The outdoor pools are lovely but cold in February so we used the indoor swimming pool which is heated and kids can use it also. You need to bring a swimming cap. There is another heated pool in the spa, only people 16 years and older can use it and there is an entrance fee. There is a supermarket (named Coviran/oceano) ten minutes walk from the hotel. We booked half board, which includes breakfast and dinner. The hotel is beachfront, although in February we didn’t swim in the sea. You can take walks but wear a hoodie or a coat as it’s sunny but windy in winter. The food was varied and very good. The kids club was nice, there is a charge of 5 euros per hour, but you can also have the kids play football in its garden while you are sitting at the tables around it. Palm trees everywhere, birds singing, it was the holiday we needed.…
Review would have been higher however we both suffered food poisoning. Hotel itself is large and spacious. Rooms are large and very comfortable. The hotel let's its self down on the food . Evening buffet with lukewarm food , kids leaving trays open so food wasn't kept properly. Not a Hotel for couples . Service in the evenings was fab but we both Had 12 straight hours of severe vomiting and diarrhea which given the hotel was only place we had eaten ..... Location remote and stunning but needs to decide whether a couples or family hotel as both don't work . Must sort out yhe food and monitor it . Would be interested to know if anyone else suffered . Would go back to region , just not this hotel .
DONT GO HERE - absolutely hellish experience with the poor management at the hotel. My 89 year old mother couldn't get through terrible security at Manchester Airport. We emailed the hotel to explain we hadn't made the flight and would try to re-arrange another flight. No reply, no response. We were prepared to fly later but were told our booking had been cancelled and no refund was possible. Could we re-arrange the booking for another date - no, we'd need to pay again. What options were available? None, we'd need to book again.
This was a return visit, based on a positive experience in 2016. The hotel has barely changed since then & in my opinion, only in a negative way. On my first trip I opted for B&B and a sea view. This time I selected half board, with a nature view. If you’re considering this hotel based on its grandeur, close proximity to the beach & serenity. Please just consider the following, which we experienced on our most recent trip; Room - our nature view was a view of the front car park, it was shaded the whole time & literally ‘nature’ was growing from the balcony! The sea view we had the trip before was sunny most of the day. Food - I am vegetarian, but my son isn’t & we struggled to enjoy our evening meals. The buffet style food was bland & they labelled food as vegetarian, when still containing meat! We wanted to dine at Mamma Mia, because we had a great experience there before, but it was closed for our whole 9 day trip - it actually looks like it’s closed down, contradictory to the external signage that says it’s open all year round! The only other dining experience was a meat restaurant, so not an option for me! I did make a complaint about the buffet food, so was offered a ‘special’ meal in the evening, but it made me feel awkward & the food offered still lacked any flavour & not of a five star standard in my opinion. To draw a comparison, we ordered room service one evening & the standard of food was incomparable! I would suggest that if you have dietary requirements & you chose to stay at this hotel, then I would opt for B&B and dine at Bellavita (Short walk up the road), the restaurant on the left hand side of the beach or room service! Location - With regard to the remoteness of this hotel, originally it is something that attracted me to it, however, they used to offer a free shuttle service to town on a daily basis, but not anymore! Therefore, you will need to take a taxi most places & downloading the Uber app is your best option for value & efficiency I soon found! So, if you do decide to book this hotel, then to break the monotony of the indoor pool & beach everyday, we only found a couple of options available in December; - Take an Uber to the marina for some water sport activity. We did parasailing & it was good fun! - Go horse riding locally. We did this & enjoyed riding along the beach. - Walk to the ‘white city’ (We named it that) It’s a couple of miles to the right of the hotel, which you can walk to across the beach or boardwalk, but there’s not much there apart from restaurants or shops. From my previous winter trip I loved the spacious rooms, cleanliness & idyllic location, but after this most recent trip I wouldn’t return based on the points above.…
VidaMar is Located on SalgadoAlbufeira, It is a breathtaking paradise.embracing the Atlantic with lots of Palmtrees. I definetly would like to visit in the near future again. Pros Big property, the Palm trees, Rooms have enough space for 3person wide and spacious.the pool is super big, walking trail to the beach makes a great experience etc.. The "Price Wise" is not very budget friendly, but not super expensive either.considering the facilities and services given I would say its Fair price. "The breakfast"is wonderful. The variety is huge my thanks to Brazilian staff( waiters and security guard) friendliest people ever. Cons Watch out for the bearded man in dark bluesuit on the reception.he is not friendly! Luri Silva, you need extra trainings to learn how to treat customers in positive way I wrote this here not because You did not upgrade Our rooms to pool side when the hotel was almost empty! I am writing this because I dont like negative energies around while I am on the vacation.Anyway thanks to Your colleagues they were super nice treated US in such a nice manners, especially the extremly nice lady who did our check out. If you have "Mobility issues" or dont' like walking this hotel is not for you. The things are spread and requires good walking distances to the golf course, the pool, and the beach. Half board option is not bad,but during the dinner at least "The Water" suppose to be served for free of charge! Also variety options for dinner can be improve. " The Spa" is charging 20€ per person for you to use indoor pool, jacuzi etc..which should be free on rainy days. Also charging 5€ for ridiculous hair cap is not fair. Overall, I would like to return to this resort and bring families and friends that We can all enjoy with nice warm weather, water from Atlantic ocean,Wonderful Views......…
We had a very nice stay at the VidaMar Resort in Albufeira. Our room overlooking the golf course was very nice and cleaned daily. We actually found that we had a better view of the golf course from the first floor than our friends’ room on the second floor. Our stay was half-board and included a daily breakfast and dinner buffet. Both had many options and were quite filling. We also booked the wine tasting at Quinta dos Vales when we booked our room; the wine guide was very knowledgeable, and the wines were lovely. The only thing we would recommend is that the reception area have someone who solely answers guest room calls. We tried to call from our room many times, and no one ever answered. Upon checking out, I noticed the front desk attendant continually putting calls on hold without responding.…
We stayed here mid october for 5 nights. Unfortunately we only had two nice days weather wise. The rest was pouring with rain so nothing to do in & around the hotel, as it is in a very quiet location. We used the spa facilities & inside pool but it was very busy with children due to the rain. All treatments were fully booked. Also were told to buy a 5euro swimming cap which I thought was strange as some had them on & some didnt in the pool. A nice clean hotel but very much like a large conference hotel. The bar area is in the lobby reception area & lacked any atmosphere. We only sat here once to wait for a taxi to go into the town. The buffet hall is like a huge canteen again no armosphere & everything was so spaced out, by the time you had got to your table food was cold. We found this often food luke warm. There were children running around, playing with utensils & bread rolls, hanging of the net curtains in the hall. Clearly lack of respect from the parents to allow this to happen. There were alot of frail & elderly people staying here. I reported it to the waiting staff but nothing seemed to change. We spoke to The Manager who i hope addressed this. It was a serious accident waiting to happen. Food choice ok but not 5 star standards. Drinks were quite expensive, i noticed alot of people drinking water at thier tables. There is a small mini market but well over priced, dont bother unless in an emergency. On the days we could go to the beach it was a lovely beach, very long. But be prepared to see a nude part, men only area which i found out on a walk along the beach. This was not known to alot of guests unless you stumbled across it like i did. Very intimidating to say the least. There is a cute beach bar with sun lounger sets for 15 euros & drinks reasonably priced. The hotel staff were very pleasant & friendly. Apart from the lady in the spa dealing with booking treatments rude & unhelpfull. I would say if you stay here, hire a car as there is nothing to do if weather is poor. No public transport. Only taxi hire. The outdoor area is nice with a large pool.…
We had a delightful one week stay at vidamar. This hotel feels grand and luxurious throughout. A well thought out and designed hotel with some impressive features like the gorgeous spa which we used and were lucky enough to have to ourselves. Would recommend using the spa facility for some relaxation and indulgence. The outdoor pool space is absolutely huge and there is a no sun bed reservation policy which was great to see. The large pool is not heated though so it did feel chilly but this is in October so was expected. It was a two minute walk down the boardwalk to a beautiful stretch of beach. This was a real highlight and advantage to this hotel. Our room was a garden view on the second floor which was peaceful and pretty. The room was tall and spacious, modern and comfortable. We booked the half-board food package. The breakfast buffet was great with the largest selection of foods I have ever seen at a hotel. You are spoiled for choice here. We only had dinner for two of the nights here as we had family staying locally so it would be unfair to give full judgement on the dinner buffet. However the two dinners we had were Portuguese and Italian themed. This may be harder to please fussier eaters but there was always something to fill you up. There is a minimart which is useful if you want some extra snacks and drinks but it is a little pricey for some items. Staff were always helpful and friendly. We didn’t experience any issues so it was rather smooth sailing. This hotel is definitely suited to people wishing to escape in a resort for a week as it has everything you need within to switch off and relax. If you like to sit around the pool and walk along the beach or even play golf at the course next door then this will be ideal. Just bare in mind if you are the type who likes to go and eat out at new restaurants each night and see a bit of hustle and bustle you will have to get into the main area of Albufeira or another local town as there isn’t much going on immediately near by. A taxi to the old town cost €10 and took about 15-20 minutes. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and glad we chose this hotel over the other options available.…
