Due to a last minute cancellation to Greece and in need of a holiday we booked a 2 week holiday staying at the Rocamar on 3rd to 17th October which my wife and myself have visited for many years. We realized due to Covid19 that there would be changes made and although it was not ideal i think the hotel set things up okay. Hand sanitizing , social distancing, face masks etc were all in place. Hotel was very quiet as was the resort to travel restrictions. But never at any time did we feel unsafe. We had a room with a balcony and sea view. Rooms were cleaned daily. Rooms had a small fridge and air con. Room safes are available at a cost. £15 per week. Breakfast was certainly a different experience but adequate if not repetitive. We are booked to stay at the Rocamar again in April of next year as April this year was cancelled , Francisco kindly allowed us to change our dates forward.…
The way i feel about this hotel is mainly based on the price you have to pay and what you actually get.. I think the more money you pay obviously the more you expect and the other way round. In this case this place is highly overpriced. The bad: If you want a nice room, go straight for the most expensive one.. all other rooms are horrendous.. Last time i stayed in a room like that was about 20 years ago. I was seriously shocked. You could also smell it. People smoke on balconies so if you’re non smoker like me it can be a problem as first thing you smell when you open your balcony door in the morning may be a cigarette smoke.. or any other time of the day. Disgusting. Breakfast was also pretty disappointing. Not only everyday exactly the same thing, but lack of pastry or a good selection of fruits. No bananas. Coffee.. was diabolical.. Had it once and never again. Had to go out for coffee. I recommend a delicious and fresh pastry and coffee shop about 10 min walk from the hotel, called Sólida Fatia if you fancy sweet breakfast and nicer coffee. if you’re happy with english breakfast or kellogs cereals everyday then you’ll be fine. Then there is the manager that is very rude together with one of his staff member, guy that looks just like him actually, the two older short bald headed men.. i don’t know maybe they’re brothers. Only the two of them are rude and create a very unrelaxed atmosphere whenever around. They were always there in the breakfast room running between the tables and shouting. The way them two speak to the guests is disrespectful. The good: All the rest of the staff was really nice. Hotel kept clean. Comfortable bed. Nice cocktails. Hotel good location. …
We were a little nervous going due to covid but nothing to worry about. Felt completely safe. Lovely hotel and staff. Amazing views from the pool. Great spa, definitely worth a try. Will definitely be back. 🇵🇹😎
The one thing I love about this hotel is the location but most of all the staff!!! After visiting year after year they continue to look after us and especially during the current climate they constantly kept us up-to-date with information. Hugo the hotel manager has become a personal friend to us all, and after returning home to day I can’t wait for the day to go back.!!
Due to Covid 19 and the open/closed travel corridors imposed by the British Government we found ourselves making a return visit to Albufeira Portugal, a destination we had visited about 4 years earlier and enjoyed immensely. As many of Albufeira's hotels were not available we ended up choosing the Rocamar Exclusive Hotel and Spa. The hotel has exceptional decor throughout the hotel, perfect position overlooking the beach and sea and close to all amenities, friendly staff, a very good breakfast, large rooms, very clean and we enjoyed our time there. The only negatives we found are the pool and pool area are far too small for the size of the hotel, so very very difficult to find a vacant sun lounger, and so we gave up trying to use the pool or pool area. Which was disappointing. Also the balcony we had (Room 220) was the size of a shoebox and even at that most of the space was taken up by an air conditioning unit. So we also couldn't use the balcony. Also disappointing as we would have loved to use the pool and/or the balcony.…
