We are just back from holidays here for 1 week with a 6 year old and 2 year old. Hotel was clean and had lots of pool options which kids loved. Found food to be ok but great for kids just dried up pizza, chips and pasta no sauce. Felt they could have given more option to suit. The pool bar/cafe is a rip off so over priced. The bar area up stairs have lots of machines with toys etc so kids would keep asking for money to keep them entertained which is frustrating. No kids entertainment at all at night time . Room was always clean with fresh towels. Just found the resort was suited to older kids. The play areas beside the restaurant are not closed of or safe so impossible to relax which watching smaller kids. Alot of parents disappointed with lack of options to keep kids busy in the evenings. Won't be returning to this resort. Way over priced for what you get.

Just back from 5 nights at the Alfagar Aparthotel. We stayed with our 2 children 5yrs and 1yr old. Our apartment was modern and had everything we needed. The bedroom was large with a/c and the resort provided us with a travel cot free of charge. The pull out sofa bed in the living area was large (two single beds effectively) and the balcony was huge and connected both rooms. Our apartment was plenty big enough for 4 of us and all our luggage that travelling with children entail. The resort is top class. Plenty of pools for all ages. We spent the majority of our time by the kids pool as that is all they wanted with the numerous water slides etc. Plenty of other pools if you wanted a more low key day. No matter what part of the resort we were in it was spotlessly clean. There were also plenty of soccer courts, tennis areas etc and lots of playgrounds dotted around the place. The kids were always entertained. There is also a kids club but we did not utilise it. The staff from pool attendants, to reception to the numerous cleaners were all very friendly and polite. Two points of note.. the pool bar is expensive for what you get, but then again I suppose most pool bars are. The mini market on site is also expensive and there is a more reasonably priced Spar shop 200 meters to the right when you come out of the resort. The beach has access from the resort but is not suitable for buggies. We walked along the road which took about 10-15mins and was well worth the visit. The food in the resort is fine. We found a nice restaurant, Portobello, which is only 5 mins walk from the resort in the direction of Albuferia. We chose to eat here twice as we found it better for the kids and adults and was very reasonably priced. We also used Uber to visit Vilamoura and Albufeira and was far cheaper than hotel transfer. Of note is that public transport in Portugal be it taxi or Uber will not provide child seats and they will have to sit with adults. Taxis are much the same price as Uber. All in all an excellent resort, would we stay again.. absolutely.

Room Tip: The Spar shop 200mtrs to the right of resort has a better selection than the resorts mini market.

First time here, absolutely won't last time, everything was perfect. I would definitely recommend you to go to Buganvilla restaurant and meet Zafer. He did his very friendly job very well. We always had a drink. Thanks Zafer.

Great apartment, clean, spacious with beautiful views, the children loved the pools. The grounds are wonderfully kept and lovely to walk round. You have to pay per session (am or pm) for the kids club though which I've not experienced before and as my son only wanted to join in with the morning football it wasn't worth 10€

We stayed at Alfagar Aparthotel for our first family holiday with our 20 month old twin girls and it was perfect! The rooms were just as they showed in the pictures and were set up ready with two travel cots, spacious balconies with a beautiful sea view. Our rooms were in the Prestige building. Buffet Restaurant for breakfast was lovely and always accommodating. Cafeteria Restaurant did lovely food and the Bars were also good with live music. The complex is actually really big and has a lot of pools, kids playgrounds were ideal for all ages. Their is a mini market on site and supermarkets across the road. The beach was a 10- 15 minute walk alongside the road, their was another route but this wasn’t suitable for buggy access. Kids much preferred the beach as the pool water is quite cold but to be honest you do get used to it once your in! Taxis were easy to book through the hotel which come with car seats when requested. You are near a few places with lovely restaurants, we went Vilamoura and Albufeira old town both lovely. Can also walk to restaurants they are located all around and main Albufeira strip 20 min walk. Overall, I cannot fault our trip I would highly recommend this hotel and the staff do an amazing job. Weather during our stay ranged from 24-27 degrees.

This aparthotel lived up to its pictures. Clean, spacious, beautiful gardens with 4 pools for all ages. Food was of good standard with enough choice each day. Location perfect, quiet but not far from shops and restaurants. All staff were great from reception, to the dining/bar staff to the cleaners. I would definitely revisit.

2nd visit to the Alfagar resort, this time we stayed in the prestige building and it was very comfortable. Lovely modern and clean apartments with comfortable beds and everything you need for an enjoyable break. Only thing I didn’t like was the glass panel in between the shower and the bedroom. The resort is beautiful, so well kept and clean and the beach is stunning.

1st time here. Hotel is about 20 mins walk from strip and about 10 mins taxi to square. Stayed in superior 1 bed apartment. Apartment in big with lovely big balcony with great sea views with table 4 chairs and 2 loungers with plenty room left over. The living area was ok although air con didn't work and TV small TV with about 4 English channels mostly news. The bedroom was 2 beds pushed together. The room is quiet big with large inbuilt wardrobe. With access to balcony. Found bed hard also lot dust under bed and on fittings. Could hear everything from outside at night and 1 night rowdy people downstairs Def needs some sort update to patio doors. The pools are great but COLD lol plenty of loungers. There play area for kids and wee shop but recommend near by spar across Street to the right it cheaper. Access to beach down lots stairs but worth it. The Oliviera restaurant serves buffet breakfast and dinner. Food is ok but same thing every day ie fries pizza pasta for lunch eggs sausage egg breakfast needs more choice also drinks not included in half board and are expensive 3e for cola. Staff great especially in restaurant. Would I come back Sadly no too far from old town but if you looking for just resort nothing else I'd recommend
