We have just returned from a lovely 9 night stay at this hotel. We have passed it on previous trips and decided to book it this time round as it looked lovely. The hotel is situated down a quiet street about 5 mins walk from the strip. Its about 15 20 min walk to the Old Town which. Yes there is Kiss nightclub facing the hotel if you stay in a pool view room but it was closed when we were there so no noise issue. All areas of the hotel are super clean and modern. The pool is lovely, not too deep and gets the sun most of the day. There's a smaller pool with a little slide for kids.Plenty of comfy loungers and parasols. There's also an outdoor shaded sofa cub area which is lovely to sit under with a book or a cocktail to get out of the sun. Bar staff were extremely pleasant and drinks and snacks were really reasonably priced. With it being alot quieter due to the current travel restrictions the outdoor bar was sometimes closed but there's another just inside so not an issue. The facilities are great..pool table outside, a little mini golf area and outdoor gym, a playroom for kids and a little library where you can borrow a good read! Check in was swift and pleasant and the room 409 on the 4th floor had a great view of the pool and we could see the sea in the distance! The room itself was spotless and so spacious! Really well equipped with kitchen utensils and glassware.A big enough fridge to keep plenty in along with a kettle and toaster and an amazing coffee machine thst they very kindly keep topped up with pods. We bought some of our own in the supermarket really cheap aswell. Cleaners are in every day if you need that, they do a brilliant job! Balcony was large with access from both the bedroom and the living room and got the sun right up to early evening. We ordered room service one evening, pizza and chips and it was delivered with a smile and was lovely! The beds were comfortable enough if not a bit hard but nothing to complain about! 2 beaches near the hotel, one accessed via a steep hill at the bottom of the strip or the nearest is praia de averios. Tricky to find but well worth it! Turn right out of the hotel and walk towards the Auramar hotel..there is a path to the left of the hotel, just follow it and it takes you directly to this beautiful cove that has a lovely little each bar and an amazing coastal path that when walked takes you right round to the Old Town beach. We will definately return to this hotel on our next visit to Portugal, service, rooms and facilities were amazing!

We have just returned from having 10 nights at this hotel, arrived in the morning but were too early for check in, so dropped bags off at reception and was able to change for the Pool in the changing room downstairs. Checked in at 3pm, we were upgraded to one of the superior rooms, we got room 310, a corner room with double balcony and sea views, it’s a bigger apartment than we’d booked. We were delighted with it. It features a Fridge with small freezer shelf, Microwave, Coffee Machine, Toaster, Kettle, Electric Coffee Percolator, 4 Electric Hob Rings, Cooking Utensils, Crockery & Cutlery etc. A TV with English Channels. A Table & Chairs, Sofa bed, Chair in lounge, Table & Chairs on Balcony with Clothes Airer. Very good Aircon in lounge & bedroom. Bed was comfy, pillows ok. A Safe in Wardrobe. Plenty of storage & electrical sockets. Bathroom had a Bath & overhead Shower, Shower was powerful enough, Toilet & Bidet with a Hairdryer & Shaver points. Bath was quite high and took a bit of stepping out of so if you have difficulties with movement, then you may find this a problem. We stayed on a B&B basis, due to Covid, we were given a form to fill out with our Breakfast needs, you could have the same daily or change it by completing another form but we kept it to the same foods, you could ask for more of anything. The list enclosed, 3 types of Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Bread & Toast, Cakes, Croissants, Ham, Cheese, Fruit, Cereal, Juices Tea & Coffee. The Coffee was not the best from the machine but when is it great from a coffee machine? The food was plated and brought to our table for us to help ourselves from, a safer way than a Buffet as planned during this time. The Pool was lovely, fresh when you got in but soon warmed up, easy steps into it & a Children’s Pool. Loungers plentiful. Grass area to lay on if you wished. Pool Bar serving Drinks, Snacks, Ice Creams & Lunches. Pool Table by Pool also and Sofas under cover to relax on. Staff were friendly, the Lady who ran the Breakfast & Poolside Bar was so lovely and friendly. She even arranged a takeaway boxed Breakfast on our last morning as we were leaving early, we were given Toasties & Fruit. We ate at the restaurant opposite Cepa Velha a couple of times, delicious food & friendly owners. The Strip is 5 mins away, busy and brash. We ate at El Rancho & Urban Pizza both great but give Wild & Co a miss! Awful atmosphere, miserable staff & service & food overpriced all on the Strip. Praia da Oura Beach is lovely, 15 mins down hill from the Strip. If you walk across from hotel by Kiss Night Club, keep left & along the path you can head to a quiet cove, ignore the Private signs on the road and at bottom walk through the complex to the beach, it has a bar there too. There are a few small food shops nearby but if you want to buy more, head to the Strip, straight across roundabout out to Praia da Oura town and there’s an Intermarché there, a 15 minute walk. Albufeira Old Town is a 20 minute walk away, flat walk & then down hill to beach and then a small incline. Taxis are around €6 for the registered black & green or cream taxis. Taxi ranks at top of road on main road that leads to the Strip, turn left instead of right for the Strip, taxi rank in the Old Town down from the escalators. Tuk Tuks are available but are €10 for what seems a dangerous ride into town. Eat at Mi Sombrero, Indian Ocean and Iguana Cafe, the last two heading out to the Marina, superb food and service. Don’t hesitate to use this Hotel as a base, free parking should you hire a car. The only problem I foresee is when the nightclub Kiss is open, it maybe noisier, luckily it wasn’t open when we stayed. Groups aren’t allowed but whilst we were there, there were groups staying. Staff were keeping an eye on everything so all was well.

Just got back from a week here, lovely big clean apartment. Pool area clean and plenty of sun beds. Large balcony with doors from bedroom and main room. We loved the area just a few mins walk from the strip and walkable distance to The Old Town and Santa Elaluia areas. Lovely beach with nice little bar about 5 mins walk away, can be a bit tricky to find, just down a little path next to the gates at the Auramar hotel. We would 100% return to these Apartments.

Spent the October week here as a family of 4 and had a brilliant week. The reception area is lovely and the reception staff were great - so helpful. The apartment was superb - big sitting and dinning area. Bathroom was well kitted out. The bedroom was a good size and I found no issue with the bed. Balcony was big. The only down side was the pool it was freezing. Didn't stop my kids getting in it every day though. It is situated close to the strip and supermarkets and 3 beaches. The closest one is a bit hard to find - turn right out of gate and walk to the next hotel. To the left of the hotel is a path leading down to the beach and if you keep walking to the right once on the beach you will come to the old town beach. Lovely hotel in a great area will definately return. Xxx

This was a rather last minute holiday for me and I have to say that the nicest part of the local area is this hotel. The whole place has a modern and contemporary feel and each of the apartments is well equipped (apart from scissors!). However, other than making cups of tea and the odd sandwich we ate out. It’s only a short walk to the nearest beach assuming you have a modicum of physical ability as the standard of pavements and paths leave somewhat to be desired. Heels are a no, no for the ladies unless of course you have a fetish for plaster of Paris. The staff are attentive and pleasant and most speak perfect English. Sadly, my Portuguese is distinctly lacking given this is only my second ever visit to Portugal. The hotel and area is very tolerant and liberal to all and there were plenty of LGBT guests. Out and about the area is ultimately what you make it. If you want fine dining and a bit of culture it’s there. If you want a fishbowl and a strip club then you are catered for as well. Being middle aged and a bit grumpy I wouldn’t want to visit in peak season as the area doesn’t have a great reputation amongst civilised tourists or the locals. Even our Taxi driver told us to avoid ‘The Strip’ after dark. We didn’t as it’s virtually closed season now, but in summer I would have heeded his advice or else caught a flight to Lanzarote. The only negative of the hotel was down to other guests and their lack of respect for others. Dragging furniture, banging doors and generally being antisocial. Sadly, you get this everywhere these days and on an ASBO scale of 1-10 this place probably only ranks a 3, so pretty good! On the whole it’s a great hotel with sensibly priced drinks and food.
