Two couples visited for one night, one receiving an en-suite with two single beds and the other an ensuite with a double bed and parlour. The rooms were spacious and the bathrooms well fitted out but not luxurious. There are two sets of stairs (no elevator) to reach the bedrooms. The location is central within the walled town, and although metred... More

The property is very well located, being very close to the centre of Evora. There is limited garage parking available by phoning in advance. The host is a very hospitable and you get a real sense of welcome from the gentleman, who also owns the property. The property is charming with a real sense of history, we choose a suite... More

This hotel is a lot of fun. The owner has lots of stories about his family. Interesting furnishings and great location. The hotel is a little shabby, worn carpets, stained shower curtain but still a good deal.

I chose this hotel because the pictures showed the local culture in the furniture and details and it got generally good reviews on Trip Advisor. It is a site in its own right. As others have noted, it is in a very old, family-owned house that the owner will be happy to tell you about. It has the patina of... More

This place needs a little explanation. The old house from 1550 is full of interesting antiques, and Francisco, whose family has had this house for 200 years, will tell you about it and about the town. Our room was large and quiet, with a huge bathroom full of marble. But the room next door was on the square and other... More

A special place full of antiquities. Clean, spacious, bang in the city near restaurants, squares, churches and the market. The owner a really friendly character, ex pilot. He served the breakfast personally which was ample and good. A place to revisit.

I strongly recommend Casa De Sao Tiago to everyone who is looking for a romantic place to stay in the heart of Evora. We stayed here a week and loved it. Francisco is a wonderful host who made us feel at home. The rooms were comfortable and well kept. The breakfast was good. The ambience was wonderful.

Sorry to say but this BB (sincerely it is a BB not a hotel) just didn't get it right... not by far. For starters, this BB is very hard to find if you drive. A tip: print out the photos of the tourists who stayed here before and take it with you. Don't expect to find it on your own... More

Or was it 13c? I need to write these things down. This townhouse has been in the owner's (Francisco) family for 200 years (i think, i really need to write things down). The house feels like you've traveled back in time when you enter it. The house is littered with centuries old antiques. On the flip side the rooms are... More

This intimate and exquisite hotel is a delight for any romantic soul who has dreamed of time travel, of spending the night in the Metropolitan Museum of Art's 18th century exhibit. Directly adjacent to the base of the old Roman aqueduct and a few cobblestoned blocks away from the Temple of Diana, this entrancing hotel is 503 years old....and time... More
