Detailed Reviews
I am very disappointed.
This hotel is not designed for couples and families but for mass tourist transit, and it is not all clean or welcoming.
Our first night had five busloads of tourists, and everything was designed for quantity rather than quality. The coffee at breakfast could be better, a very bottom-range robusta bean. I had to order a pay-for coffee from the bar, which was only marginally better as I could not stand the bitterness of the breakfast coffee. The buffet breakfast is unappetising, the pancakes dry, the butter still frozen, little choice, etc. As for the rooms. There is no hot water jug nor spoon for me to prepare my carioca de lemaõ, which I drink for my health. Only water bottles were available at a hefty price. The beds were made the Asian way: no upper sheet, just a very thin duvet with a cover and while it is acceptable to some, it was a novelty to me.
There were hygiene issues; the dispensers of hand sanitiser were all empty. The sauna and indoor pool shower areas stank of urine. (the hotel reception told us it was probably a faulty canalisation… but the toilets are a floor below the sauna, and maintenance should have closed the area for repairs!!!) The jacuzzi had vert de gris algae growth over its vents, people were wearing outdoor shoes around the indoor pool area, judging from looking at the dirt on the ground tiles, and no one supervised guests for safety or hygiene. It was so dirty. After that, I did not enter the pool for fear of catching something.
It was a very frustrating experience, considering I chose to stay in that hotel for its indoor pool and sauna. Having worked and stayed in hotels worldwide, I thought I knew well what quality standard to expect from a 4-star hotel!!!!! I am fast revising my beliefs and expectations downward, as far as Evora Hotel is concerned!!!

Bed was particularly firm, even by European standards. My hips hurt and sleeping was not possible at first. Staff were very kind and helpful in showing alternate rooms with beds thought to be softer (they were not) and gave us lots of extra pillows to make a makeshift bed with. Mattresses were new per staff. Understanding when we cancelled second night / did not charge us. Lobby is attractive. Room appeared clean, however, musty odor in room and hallways. Upgrades needed to carpet and furnishings to bring them up-to-date. Balcony had a nice view of the pool. Not worth 100 euros/night.

Very clean room. Great location and room with a balcony overlooking the pool. Breakfast was a smorgasbord - so many selections and so good (the coffee machine made wonderful cappuccinos!). Staff was helpful, kind, and courteous. Gym is great but we weren't told when we booked the room that the gym was an additional fee of €5 per person per day, and if you wanted a towel, it was an additional €1. Additionally, the air conditioning never got very cool, and the comfort level of the bed was mediocre. Mattress wasn't very comfortable, and since there was no top sheet, you had to use the blanket, which was too warm with the AC not working well.

First the good. Most of the staff are very nice. The bar and restaurant area are pleasant and so is the pool area. Water pressure in the shower is good. However, this is not up to 4 star standards. The rooms are dated. The doors don't fit properly and there are gaps. It is the first time I have seen a shower curtain over a bath in an hotel in many years. The TV is a very small free standing TV. There is a terrace but it only has one chair. On our second day after housekeeping had been we were faced with stained bath towels, we took them back to the housekeeping room but there was noone there so we swapped them with unstained ones. Certainly not acceptable in any class of hotel. The restaurant is nice and the food is good, but only buffet. Breakfast is extremely noisy because the hotel caters to coach parties and conferences. The breakfast food is nothing great but ok. The pool area is nice but although there is a member of staff in the pool bar area you have to get dry and dressed to go into the hotel to get food and drinks, not really great for a supposed 4 star hotel. The pool also was full of flying ants,/mosquitos on the first day, although there were a few less on the second day.

This is the hotel where large tourist groups stay on their way to Southern Portugal, but unable to provide an adequate service therefore it is a chaos.
There was a terrible sewage smell in our room and it was not possible to change it as the hotel was fully booked with several groups at the same time.
The food is below average and the service is terrible.
We stayed one night and happy to leave.

In front of the hotel there is a car park, the entrance and the lobby are spacious. Clean rooms with balcony. The downstairs public bathrooms and swimming pool are in urgent need of renovation. These facilities are not even in a 3 star condition anymore. Breakfast ok, lunch and dinner too. Peaceful area.

16h00, 33 degrees, almost 60 people on the pool and pool bar closed.
Lobby bar with one table occupation and 5 employees bartenders behind the bar. We all quickly guess that one or two could easily be at pool bar. Some improvements could really be considered with service provider!

The hotel is located just outside the center in a quiet location. Although there were many guests, little was heard in the rooms. The breakfast buffet was varied and identical every day. We received friendly service throughout our stay. The spa and wellness area is separate, but extensive.

Easy ride to Evora, but not many accessible Petrol Stations. Mainly card and how much you want to fill.
Easy to find Hotel outside City walls. Big, clean and busy at Lunchtime. Check In good, room fine, Restuarant much better than the last. A day walking in Evora and a trip out to the Menhirs in the Cork Trees.
I liked.

The only things about 4 stars is the wall with the symbol.
Air conditioner don’t make enough hot. Accommodation needs a renew.
Breakfast more simple than that is difficult to find.
The good, the employees were very pleasantly and the interior swimming pool.
