I'd like to say a massive thank you to the team at the Gnu for a wonderful overnight stay. They have completely turned the pub around. It's a credit to them and great for the village to have such enthusiastic owners now running a great village pub. The beers were wonderfully kept - particularily The Guzzler. We had a lovely... Popped in the Gnu Inn for lunch today and very glad we did. We received a friendly welcome and had a lovely chat with the owners. My husband had fish and chips and said the fish was gorgeous, I had a very tasty panini with nice chunky chips. It was our first visit but it hopefully won't be our last.... More

Its a good location to venture out in to the Yorkshire Wolds. There isn't much else in the village besides another pub. If you fancy a quite relaxing time this is it.Food is a good quality of home made farye and breakfast is free. Parking isn't a problem own area to park.

Long time since eating in this pub, but the New owners were lovely. Very honest about not serving some sub standard steak we'd ordered, and offered good alternative. Sirloin steak, best I've eaten in a while and Puddings lived up to expectation too! Will most definetly be going back here very soon. So Food Excellent, Staff excellent couldn't fault it,... More

6 out of 5!! Absolutely spot on food, venue, hosts and staff! Lovely food and friendly staff who bend over backwards to make you feel welcome. We went as a group of 8 for Sunday lunch. 1 of our party was a vegetarian and did not fancy the Sunday lunch set menu....this was quickly resolved by the chef's offer to... More

Found this little gem by chance and my mother and I were very warmly welcomed unlike at the empty pub close by who informed me at 2.02pm that food service stopped at 2pm... Food was excellent, prices great and portion sizes fab. Will definitely be back x

Stopped here for lunch whilst cycling in the Wolds. This Inn welcomes cyclist and walkers and we received a very warm welcome. It does not purport to be a gastro pub as such but it serves good pub grub. We had a panini and a sandwich both of which were served with a lovely salad and homemade very tasty chips.... More

We stopped in wet bike kit, and received a very warm welcome. There was a longer than usual wait for the food, but there was a party of 8 of us and it came out together. It's a lovely atmosphere, friendly helpful staff, and the food was really excellent. I'll definitely go back.

The team now running this pub are very friendly and enthusiastic. Excellent home-cooked food to satisfy the biggest appetite. Our 1-night stay was fine but our room was in need of a makeover (the owners are keen to do this when funds allow). Great packed lunch for our next day's walking!
