This was my third stay at the Inn at Glencairn, and I left with a sigh of delight and disappointment that I once again had to leave. So, my third visit made it one trifecta. But it could be a trifecta for anyone - even on their first visit: 1.) the grounds and commons areas take you back to a simple, elegant time. Perfect for relaxing, reading and getting away from the ordinary anxieties of life, 2.) Comfortable guest rooms - clean, spacious and each with a lovely view over the grounds, 3) Award winning (literally - Conde Nast, Trip Advisor, etc.) hospitality by Lydia, and breakfasts that make you look forward to waking again, even just as you rest your head on the comfortable pillows to go to sleep. Honestly, combining the experience of the Inn with the wide variety of activities to do and things to see in the area make this special place worthy of a very long drive or flight to experience. Kudos to the entire staff.

Property's Favorite Review
I can't say enough good things about our stay at the Inn at Glencairn! My mom and I came planning to stay two nights, but ended up staying for three! We were treated like family from the moment we walked in. The inn is a beautiful and well-preserved building with simple, comfortable rooms. There is free coffee, tea, and wine out at all times. Breakfast is varied and delightful. You order it the night before from a rotating menu. We had delicious yogurt, fruit and granola bowls each morning, which came with fresh-baked, buttery scones. The inn's manager was extremely friendly and accommodating, and even managed to move around some work that was scheduled in the building so that we could stay in our room an extra night! The inn is located right along a major road about 3 miles from Princeton center, which was convenient for us as we visited the university and surrounded areas. We look forward to staying here again the next time we are in Princeton!

Location is good, room was clean, bed comfortable. However, no individual control of a/c - innkeeper has control for entire building. No "maid service" unless requested & only 3-days apart!!!! Bathroom towels were non-absorbant!

Thank you for your review. We are glad that you found the room clean, location good, and the bed comfortable. Having individual air conditioning controls in every room is not feasible with a building over 300 years old, but our guests find that the zoned central air conditioning works wonderfully. Plus, Lydia is more than happy to adjust the temperature when asked. Also, as a holdover from the pandemic, we found that many guests do not want daily maid service, however, we do happily provide it when requested. We are disappointed that you did not bring these items to our attention while you were at the Inn so that we could improve your stay. (And, next time we hope that you will be able to join us for one of the award winning breakfasts that Lydia prepares daily!)

The bedding is frirst rate...we had a wonderful peaceful sleep to wake up to what seriously may be the most lavish and delicious breakfast I have ever had! There are 3 choices given to order your breakfast and Lydia's cooking is amazing. Lydia herself was warm, welcoming, informative and this is a place I can absolutely recommend.

What a wonderful place. Authentic, perfectly maintained and full of personal care by the state of the art innkeeper Lydia. We made an overnight stop with our kids and stayed in the 4-bed two-room suite, had a 5-star breakfast and will definitely come again for a longer stay!

This is an excellent property for business or a romantic getaway!! The rooms are large and well appointed with comfortable beds, exquisite sheets and warm down comforters. The host, Lydia, is wonderful, helpful about the surroundings, including sites and restaurants. The morning breakfasts provided choices between fruit, pastry and yogurt to full three egg breakfast with bacon. Lydia also provides excellent chocolate truffles at breakfast, wonderfully decadent!! Breakfasts are timed so that only two rooms share a table for twelve. My wife and I will return!!

My husband and I had such a wonderful stay here! The Inn is charming, (from the 1700's,) we loved the crown molding, the old wood floors, the fireplaces... even the door locks to the rooms! We were celebrating my birthday and Lydia baked a chocolate cake and had it waiting for us in our room for after we returned from dinner, (with fresh raspberries and ice cold milk!) It was amazing! I can't decide if that or the breakfast the next morning was my favorite part - her cooking was out of this world. It was our first trip anywhere since Covid and we felt totally pampered and comfortable. My only regret is not having booked more than one night there - definitely would love to go back the next time we want a romantic weekend away from the kids!

My husband and I came to the Inn for a quick 2 night weekend getaway in winter Feb 2022. The inn was perfectly located between Grounds for Sculpture ( which we wanted to visit for winter nighttime light exhibit) and downtown Princeton for dining, shopping g and walking around University campus. Lydia took great care of us at the inn, making sure my breakfasts were gluten free, and telling me of a nearby dedicated GF bakery , Wildflour Bakery where I could get other treats. The inn has exceptionally comfortable sheets which was great too!

We had such a great weekend stay in Princeton at the Inn at Glencairn. Lydia is a wonderful woman who knows the true meaning of hospitality. She made us feel welcome from check in to check out. And her breakfasts were outrageously awesome! The Inn is just a few miles from downtown Princeton so it was easy to head in for shopping and dinners. We can't wait to return!
