This place is fantastic - beautiful historic home, location and service. Lydia, the innkeeper, is an amazing cook and serves a choice of breakfasts with home made butter, jams, oatmeal, granola, quiches, etc. Also, beautiful walking nearby. A high recommendation!

My wife and I had the pleasure to stay at the Inn at Glencairn this last weekend for our 13th wedding anniversary. We choose to stay here due to its proximity to Princeton and wanting to try out a Bed & Breakfast for the first time. It was a wonderful experience from the moment we arrived. The historic house has been updated without losing any of its original charm. Lydia the Innkeeper & Chef is an extraordinary individual who was attentive, friendly, and a fabulous breakfast connoisseur. The two breakfasts that we were able to have were excellent, complex, and delightful. We would highly recommend staying here and are looking forward to a return trip.

What a lovely old home! Everything is here: history, lovely rooms, amazingly comfortable beds, cozy sitting areas, complimentary red wine, coffee and tea! Lydia is a friendly and hospitable innkeeper who enhances the experience! And the delicious breakfast was wonderful! I intend to stay here whenever I am in the area!

We stayed here for one weekend and really enjoyed it. There is plenty to do in the area and it's close enough to the shore and other attractions. Such a lovely old home and Lydia, the Innkeeper, bends over backwards to ensure your stay is comfortable. The bed was soft and comfy, the room was old fashioned and cozy, the breakfast was delicious and the barn and backyard sitting spots were beautiful. We can't wait to go back.

We stayed here one night to attend a wedding in town and I was disappointed. The photos suggest more beautiful grounds and a much more special breakfast. In reality the grounds are pretty limited and not impressive. No real flowers or landscaping. We had one of the nicest rooms and it was fine but nothing amazing. And most sadly, the best breakfast item was a croissant sandwich served with two slices of tomatoes. So nothing that had to actually be cooked. No fruit other than a tiny bit of fruit in the very small yogurt parfait. The milk provided for my tea was sour. In other words, the main event that is highlighted on the website — the gourmet breakfast — was nothing special. Perhaps this was because the innkeeper was on vacation and we had a sub. I will say that Lydia the innkeeper let us checkin an hour early which we appreciated. In any event, it was a perfectly fine stay but I would not consider this a special destination.…

Thanks for your review! We are glad that we were able to shift our cleaning schedule to accommodate your early check in. It is disappointing to hear that you were underwhelmed. We work hard to maintain, operate and staff a property that dates back to the early 1700s, and we make a tremendous effort to provide an accurate description of the Inn on our website and social media. Both Lydia and her substitute Innkeeper are more than happy to accommodate any breakfast requests. Thanks for giving me an opportunity to let guests know that if they see a favorite breakfast on our website, please mention it ahead of time!

My daughter and I loved everything about the Inn ❤️ our suite was so comfortable in every way. The bed, the pillows and the decor were perfection. The Inn itself will make you never want to stay in traditional hotel lodging again. Lydia’s breakfast was nothing short of incredible, and I met the most lovely guest at breakfast. Will be visiting again for sure!

This B&B is exceptional. From the charming rooms, the modern bathrooms, the fresh linens, homemade soaps, to the really good breakfasts and hot coffee, the Inn gives guests the chance to make their own experience as social or as solo as they wish. I loved having breakfast or wine and getting to chat with other guests, but I also took time to sit by myself in various rooms and outside. Lydia is a gracious host who knows how to make a person feel cared for as well as independent while on the property.

We booked a stay at the Inn over the holidays and had to cancel last-minute with the weather. The Inn was so kind to rebook us for a couple weeks later instead. Could have hung out in the old house with the hearth all day! Such a cool historic building but all the comforts of home. Breakfast was amazing. Thank you! Definitely recommend...
