I am so disappointed in this hotel. We arrived on a Friday and stayed until Sunday for a memorial/funeral. When we arrived in the early afternoon, there were no clothing hangers. We were told they could not find us any hangers because the hotel was full and there was going to be a wedding on Saturday and they needed all our hangers. The two people at the desk, Q and Fatima said there was no way they could find hangers for us and they made no effort to acquire any. Might I also say they were quite rude that I was even asking for hangers. Surely it was impossible there were none in a building of multiple rooms. Finally on Saturday night they hung 4 metal hangers on our door handle, which we didn't find since we used a direct entrance into our room from the lawn. And to top it off, the we arrived they said we would not get service (clean towels etc.) because we didn't ask ahead for it... How were we to know? Pool was nice, but no towels one day(and no effort to get us any), breakfast was OK. Overall, what a disappointment for these accommodations, at this sad time in our lives it just was a horrible attitude for a hotel.

Our stay was a true delight, enhanced by so many cozy gracious corners scattered throughout the hotel in which to sit undisturbed with a friend or a book. Also notable was the unusual genuine warmth of every member of the large staff. One disappointment - the menu for dinner at their on-site restaurant offered limited not very tasty veggie fare. We’d certainly re turn, but eat in Princeton, 10 minutes down the road.

A few small problems on arrival and staff sprung into action and went above and beyond. Spotless well equipped quiet room, great breakfast, comfortable common areas with beverages and snacks, lovely salt water pool, well equipped gym, friendly bar and nice location. The staff at the front desk, restaurant and especially Sara and Dennis could not have done enough for us. If you are doing business in the Princeton area, this is the place to stay rather than a route 1 congested property. Thank you all for a great stay.

Please update this hotel!
The good: rooms are very clean. Bed and pillows extremely comfortable.
Asked for a quiet room away from the wedding reception. Our room was right next to it and the room wreaked of mold and fish. One tiny piece of soap. No body lotion. Front desk lied and said they were fully booked. Said to process refund because I had no idea how toxic the room was. Said I need tip floor on other side away from wedding. Told there were none so again asked for my money back.
Suddenly a top floor room on other side opened up. Well, what do you know.
The hotel was far from being fully booked. The 2 front desk people had lots of attitude and just plain lazy.
The hotel is depressing. Every wall is painted dull white and dirty. The lighting is strictly led and you can see nothing.
Breakfast was excellent.

We only had the experience with one room type, a large room with a balcony on the second floor. I know they have smaller rooms that might have been remodeled. But having said that this room we got was dirty (dead flies, spots on the carpet all over, coffee stains on a bathroom wallet ). The heating system is a built in electric heater, quite old and fairly noisy. You can see the room was not properly updated for a while, maybe never.
The bed sheets, blanket, pillows all quite sub par. We only stayed one night so did not push for a room change because of that.

But I recommend you look at the room before moving in if this is possible.

While the bones of this property are amazing, it needs updating.

Great location. Get a rental car if you need to move around. Ambiance of the facility is five stars. Staff are polite and sweet and helpful. No recycling. I can’t believe they don’t have re-fillable shampoo, conditioner and soap !!! Mother Earth is getting overwhelmed with useless plastic. The place is nicely priced for a spacious room. But very dated. The ground are beautiful- we took long relaxing walks 🌸

Great hotel! Beautiful picturesque grounds. Great staff, & well maintained. Nice size room with vaulted ceilings & outdoor porch. Great A/C. Very clean. Excellent indoor salt water pool & fitness center. Very close to downtown Princeton. My 2nd visit, and most certainly not my last..

Beautiful location and friend staff. The food was delicious as well. Unfortunately the entire hotel needs a deep deep clean and a major update. This could be an easy 5 out of 5 stars with fixing those two things. The hotel
is away from most things which is very nice for relaxing but makes visiting town requiring more work and takes more time.

What do I think of Chauncey Conference Center? Well first I have to tell you a little about its background which I learned from the bartender we met while staying there or else you'll be really confused when trying to find the place. :) This hotel which is now open to the public was originally used for those people working in the buildings on this huge park like property. This is where a company called Educational Testing Services is located. Chauncey was originally used just for them, but now is open to the public. The hotel itself as I said is located on a huge park like property. It gives you a feel of a country estate, you have to drive far into the estate to find the hotel. The hotel itself is earthtone in color and very clean. There is alot of pine woodwork here as well. They have a country house you can stay in, but we had a standard room in the hotel. The rooms are newly renovated with green and beige tones and a marble like bathroom, the king size bed we had was extremely comfortable. The rooms on the first floor offer you a patio like setting with a door leading to the outside, while second floor rooms give you a balcony, which I thought was very nice. You can get a fridge in your room for a 10 dollar fee, which we did. High speed internet is also free which my boyfriend enjoyed. They have an outdoor pool, tennis courts and a good sized inside fitness center. The only drawback is that while Chauncey is not far from downtown Princeton. They have no real restaurant to speak of on their own grounds. They offered a small buffet for 35 dollars a person in the Solomon dining room(expensive) which I felt wasn't worth it. They do have a nice bar with an American fare menu which seemed good. The explanation they gave for the lack of a real restaurant is that they have only recently opened to the public. I booked this room on a priceline like website, which made it even more desireable and inexpensive, the staff is very helpful, but I must admit a bit unorganized so review the details before your stay. Overall a great choice.

My husband and I have gone twice to afternoon tea here and enjoyed the soothing atmosphere. Tea is served in the Solomon Dining Room of the Chauncey Conference Center on the grounds of the Educational Testing Service (the SAT folks). So, the atmosphere is less frilly than at most tea rooms. And, few people know about it, so at most only one or two tables are being served and the servers leave you be. The view of the grounds includes a pond and a beautiful old home -- ask for a table by the window. The food is good -- obviously just out of the fridge and a little cold, but close enough to the real thing for my vote., i.e., tea sandwiches, scones & clotted cream, etc. Royal tea includes champagne. When you've finished, stroll the paths around the grounds. You'll go away feeling refreshed! Where: 664 Rosedale Road. Phone: 609-921-3600 for reservations. When: Wed.-Sat., 3-5 p.m.

I don't recall off hand, but I remember checking in around three and checking out about 10AM. I would recommend you call the hotel: 1-609-921-3600

Unfortunately we do not have a shuttle form Newark. There are services there but they are very expensive $80-$150. Depending on what time you come into Newark you can catch a train (New Jersey Transit) right from the airport. Cost is approximatley $18 one way. It will take you to Princeton Junction. You can take a cab from there but it will be $32 to the hotel. If you come in before 9 pm you can see if the van at the hotel can pick you up. Our Number is 609-921-3600 Thank you, Paul
