Poor breakfast, dirty bathroom and so cold rooms! no place to warm up in the living room. Too expensive, I didn't expect that (I chose it hoping it would be better for the price but nope, it's just stealing money). The lady wasn't nice at all. Plus it's very far from the city entrance.

The rooms are freezing cold and the shower water as well. Until then we were used to have cold bedrooms but normally we were accepted in the living room to dry our clothes and warm up. In Estilo the lady made us feel unwanted and she said that we couldn’t dry our clothes (one pants and one jacket) because there was other people in the house. She didn’t want to people to warm up or even pass by the supposedly shared living room because she was watching tv all day long every day and she turned on the volume every time you were there. It was unpleasant and awkward to arrive every time and to feel that we were disruptive. Plus we had only one small bread for breakfast and when we asked for one more she expressed that she didn’t wanted and she brought us one half of bread. You can’t even ask for a tea unless you beg her, she locks herself in the kitchen so that you can’t use it. Too expensive for what it is. There’s plenty of other hostels in town we wished we went to (like Vientos de la Patagonia where we drank a coffee-they have WiFi and a nice and a cozy living room) but Estilo made us pay weeks in advance. Details: no checking out hour and suddenly she says 10am (after hesitating), a lot of mold in the bathroom, small towels, no wifi : better be camping!!…

I arrived in Tortel in April so things were winding down a bit. I found this place very pleasant for a short stay. It’s a warm family home about a 10-15 walk along the pasarelas from the car park. It’s very close to where the boats arrive, just up a couple of flights of steps. I had a single private room with a VERY comfortable bed, I slept super well! The host is very friendly and chatty, even with my limited Spanish. A nice simple breakfast included. Only small issue the water in the shower wasn’t consistently hot, but enough to wash:).

We were made to feel like an unwanted imposition rather than as valued, or even normal, guests. Specifically; we were repeatedly interrupted in our room and accused of washing clothes and cooking. We were also moved to a room that was easier to for the landlady to "monitor" us, much to the bemusement of her housekeeper. This also appeared to happen to a Colombian family, whom we overheard being accused of "lying" to the landlady as they were being moved to another room for their second night. General notes: The breakfast was average, but inclusive. The walls are thin, you can hear conversations and movements from the family until after midnight. It's a long way from the entrance to Tortel; a scenic walk but it might be problematic with bags.

La residencial is amazing, clean, organize and warm, It is located in the downtown of Caleta Tortel, like 20 minutos walking downstairs from the bus station, but is not a problem because the amazing view will make you forget the costanera walk and stairs, The bedrooms are wooden all around and the beds are soft, We had a really great nite. for two beds we paid only $15.000 included breakfast. (a very good one). Alejandra the owner of this place was so kind and nice. There isn´t free wifi in Caleta Tortel , not paid, Only Entel mobile works, so you may call in advanced to reserve, you could be two or three hours looking for a place to stay, Estilo is a place that I recommen.

I went to Tortel without booking accommodations, which was my mistake. After searching for a place to sleep for nearly 3 hours, I reluctantly settled on Estilo. I say reluctantly, because the woman said that it would cost me 40,000 pesos for one night!!! At that point, it was dark and I was tired. The room was pretty standard for a hospedaje. I was anxious to take a hot shower after my long trip. I realized that I didn't have a towel, not a big deal, so I went down to get one. I tried to shower and realized that the water was ice cold. I went down stairs again to tell the keeper and she argued with me before going outside to find that the gas was empty. After she changed it, I went up to shower to find that the water was still cold and there was a broken window in the shower!!! so I went BACK down stairs to tell her about that, to which she responded "I will fix that later". Finally, I took a shower and it was freezing due to the broken window. She came in at around 10 pm and put an egg carton in the hole barely covering 1/2 the hole. The next morning, i met a Chilean girl who only paid 15,000 pesos and she checked in just before I did. It became obvious that she took advantage of me because it was late and my spanish isn't the best. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars is because the dinner was delicious and reasonably priced (6,000 pesos). My advice would be to secure a reservation BEFORE you go to Tortel!! Another place tried to charge me 85,000 pesos!!!!…

We stayed at Residencial Estilo for two nights in early December. Estilo is a cozy wooden house with a spacey living room with a fireplace. The owner is a lovely person, very helpful and very nice. She made all the effort to arrange for our boat trip to glacier Montt, as well as for the bus tickets to Cochrane. She was making the fire early in the morning, so by the time we were up, the living room was heated up and breakfast served. When we returned from our boat trip, she was waiting for us with warm coffee and cookies. Estilo doesn't have a kitchen, but that's not really needed. There're a few restaurants nearby. We went to El Patagonico that served us fresh fish and salad. It was very cold at night in our room, so we had to wear extra warm clothes, but that's part of the charm of a mountain village like Caleta Tortel. We had a lovely experience here.…
