The hotel is nicely decorated, the wellness is amazing, the food a Jules bar was good, and the music during the evening even better, we enjoyed our stay tremendously. The wellness has a path they advise you to follow, which goes from a rain walk, a salt sauna, an ice cold shower, infra red booths, a salt scrub shower, a zen room to chill with nice tea, another herbal sauna, an ice cave, and some therapy baths with bubbles, without forgetting the gorgeous swimming pool. Real heaven. Only caveat was the lady at the reception the morning of our departure. We wanted to know the check out time, she was on the phone,.... so we waited, and waited... she made no sign of acknowledgement, did not seem to care we were waiting, and just went on with her conversation. After a good 7 minutes of waiting, we decided to leave without an answer. Most disrespectful to leave clients waiting so long without even a sign she will be with us shortly or anything of the sort. …
Stayed here for 7 nights for business, the hotel is clearly geared towards the business traveler but I found it disappointing that for the same price you get very different quality of rooms. The first week I was put on the 3rd floor and my room was very small and dated with tiny bathroom and old unsightly carpet with the furniture looking like left overs from different ages/rooms. The second week I was on the first floor and the room was so much bigger and better with tiled floor and newer bathroom, it looked like a different hotel to be honest! That room was very hot though with heating coming from the floor I think that made it quite stuffy and the noisy AC couldn’t help much. The food was good at breakfast and dinner so that’s the main positive. I wouldn’t stay here again if I could help it.…
My firm brings me to this hotel fairly frequently and as far as hotels go, this one delivers. Rooms are comfortable, if very differing in style. ‘North Wing’ rooms are classic hotel rooms, comfortable with everything you might need for a decent sleep. ‘South Wing’ rooms are located in the modern wing of the hotel. They are more sparse in style but certainly nicely put together and if you - or your company - fork out the very reasonable extra to upgrade, you’ll not be disappointed. All rooms, as far as I can tell, have a safe and a minibar (minibar not free!) The hotel has a cool bar ‘Jules’ and an excellent bistro. Both would be jewels if not for one thing: staff. Staff in Jules Bar are not exactly...extatic to be at work. Which is their right, we’ve all been there. But these people nėver are. They seem uninterested, glum and really not altogether well-trained. Thankfully, the cocktails are good enough. Not mind-blowing or remotely original. But good. A greater shame is the restaurant. The food is adequate, a-like the bar it isn’t groundbreaking but it ‘does’. What pulls the restaurant down is its choice of maitre d’. The younger man is *at best* civil to diners but the older man, who we were told is actually the owner of the place? This man has nó business in hospitality. Not all diners are equal, there is a vast difference between tables he deems worthy of his attention and those not so much. We’ve dined on days where the restaurant was busy, a thing owners should be thrilled by but it leaves this man in a flap. He becomes rude and unpleasant with zero regard for who sees it. We saw him be indescribably rude to reception staff and even - which we learned to our amazement - his own wife. Right in front of guests! I requested room service, a simple stew and watched this man get almost apoplectic with fury. Laughable yet serious. Thankfully the young man at reception restored our faith somewhat that competent people do reside here. The ladies of the front office are superb too. Perhaps the oaf in the restaurant could observe them or better yet, play golf and leave restaurants to those capable. Really a nice place, shame about the owner.…
We have stayed in this hotel many times. It is clean and efficient. The south wing rooms are larger than the north wing. The spa area is really good buy not accessible to guests unless a payment is made, although guests can use the pool and gym. The bar is very nice and had a good barfood menu. Breakfast is excellent.
I have stayed for 4 nights. It was very clean. And pool was good for swimming. Breakfast was the best in Europe I have seen. Workers are so helpful. And location is near train station. And near hotel it is very easy to find restaurants
