We stayed at Hotel Bero with our 2 little kids. As we read quite a few negative reviews on outside noises, we asked beforehand if they could guarantee a quite room. An employee called Sébastien confirmed vie e-mail to give us a room without air condition or other noise outside. Upon arrival they gave us a room next to a construction site with nonstop noise from 7am to 5pm. When we complained, they kept putting us off till later (“construction will stop tomorrow”, “I will talk to the management by tomorrow”), but nothing ever changed. They only offered another room with air condition noise outside. After the 2nd night we couldn’t handle the noise anymore and decided to go home early. When asking for a compensation due to Sébastien’s wrong written confirmation and unmet agreement, they stopped being friendly: “What did you expect when booking a hotel in the city centre?”, “This would not have happened, if you had taken the room next to the air condition”. They said they could not to more for us, but refused to give us the management’s phone number – because of data protection, while on the same hand, they had an applicant’s CV lying on the reception counter for everyone to see. Adressed to that, the receptionist yelled at us if we wanted to threaten her – she could not see how she was applying double standards. They did not give us a compensation (“because until now you used all the services, like breakfast”) – except for offering a voucher for our next stay, ironically: We left early because of the poor circumstances, why would we seriously go back to a place with noise and lying employees? I would not recommend it to anyone. We wasted a lot of money on a noisy non-relaxing holiday.

Management told us the room was closed for refurbished but still rented it out to us. They told us they proposed to give us another room but thats a big lie, we did not want to stay in a health hazard room voluntarily but that is what they told us. Proof that they knew the room was not fit , letter from hotel here.mold in shower, mold on the ceiling. Horrible experience!!

Dear management. On 8/8/2020 I went to check in at 3:00pm. The front desk lady with glasses was soooo rude and unprofessional. The first thing she said was , we have a problem with your room. No air conditioner and we ran out of portable air conditioners. I asked to see the room and was told no. I insisted and she finally let me see the room. It was not as stated on the ad and I asked that she cancel. She was very mean and Disrespectful to me and my to my pregnant wife. I will give this hotel the worst review and suggest that you change this place from a 4 star to a 1 star. Very disappointed.

I have never had an issue with this hotel until this year. New management, horrible. I came for my father’s funeral, the air conditioning wasn’t working so I asked about it at the reception, they told me it was hotel wide. I spent a week without AC in July. Also could not open the windows as there was a large semi parked and running under my window to clean a room (so no way to sleep with open windows either). Upon checking out, I asked for a discount, was told that I was wrong, receptionist raised her voice at me and was adamant about me being in the wrong. I told her that I had been coming regularly for 12 years (10-14 days/year). I will be staying elsewhere from now on. I am a little saddened by this as I considered this hotel my home in Oostende but this experience was bad enough for me to switch. Also, the TV package has been decreased to a handful of channels.

The hotel is is very smart and the staff could not be more welcoming and helpful. We had booked a car park space and valet parking made it very easy. Situated a short walk away from some excellent restaurants and bars this really was a good choice. The bedroom was spacious and the bed comfy. I also had with a safe, fridge plus ample room for clothes etc. I would recommend this hotel with no reservations.

I booked this hotel for my wife's birthday via Amoma. On arrival at the hotel we were told that our booking had been cancelled by Hotelbeds as Amoma had gone bankrupt even though we had paid 2 months previously. The receptionist told us that we could have a room and that the hotel would try and reclaim the money from Hotelbeds. The room was the same executive one that I had booked. On booking out we were accosted by a different receptionist who insisted that we paid the full going rate which meant that we paid about 80 euros more than the original cost when we thought that we were covered by the original voucher/payment. I have been going to Ostend off and on for 50 years. Needless to say I won't be going back. Hotels shouldn't take advantage of clients misfortunes the way this hotel did. Customer service very poor. Stay away.

Stayed here for one night with work earlier this month. The staff on reception were excellent and very friendly. The room was large and clean. The hotel is only a short walk from the seafront. I have read reviews about the lack of parking, however I was able to park in a pay and display car park less than two minutes walk from the hotel. There was lots of space. Because I was in Ostend for work, I didn't see much of the city, so can't comment on how nice it is, but based solely on my experience of the hotel, I will certainly be back.

It all started that they had no parking available and we had to drive around 40 min till one public parking was available. Tv room was clean but old and it smelled funny. The pool was so cold I didn’t go in and decided to visit the sauna instead but it was 16.15 o’clock and it only opens at 1700. So I told myself to rest a bit and watch tv but the TV didn’t show any channels and after calling the reception, I didn’t get any help. She just said there must be some around the number 60 or so. What wasn’t the case. The promenade was packed with so many people and the city itself isn’t very nice. That’s not anybody’s fault, just saying I expected something nicer from the pictures on the internet. I just hope now breakfast will be ok... definitely a disappointment for that price

We were in January, and i can tell that the location is really awesome. In Summer must be a bestseller : )Close to everything. Very decent rooms and facilities, I had to work and the WiFi was very decent, no issues. Next to the hotel very nice Mexican restaurant - for sure a gem.

I booked couple hotels through booking.com and my first advice is to call the hotel to ensure you get the best deals both hotels confirms booking receives a commission and it should be better to check with the hotel to save money Hotel hero has classic rooms make sure before you book you ask if the room has air condition .. at least ask for a fam when you find out that the room has no ac :) The city is awesome and will be back for sure. The reason I booked this hotel was for the swimming pool amazing pool and sauna facilities Overall not bad I was really surprised to know that this is a possibility in 4 stars hotel:(
