Don't bother to see what other B&Bs and hotels are like in Bruges, just book yourselves in here, you won't regret it. This elegant house is right in the heart of Bruges but in a very quiet and short no through road, so only the occasional car just parking. Once out of the front door and a few seconds walk away is the bustle of Bruges, its visitors and its main sites, and several minutes walk beyond that the less well visited, but perhaps even more interesting. Our room, the Rooftop, was actually on the middle floor but still had a fantastic view of the tower and being so close we worried we'd be kept awake from the bell/s, but fortunately they don't chime at night. The bed was extremely comfortable, so we slept really well and we're not usually great sleepers, the bathroom was warm, clean and with a bath and shower combined. For breakfast freshly squeezed orange juice, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon were amongst the choices, and eaten at a table shared with the other guests. Our host Julie was delightful, friendly, a great cook and helped us book restaurants for dinner. We were there by accident during the Christmas markets, so the whole city was decorated with tasteful white Christmas lights everywhere, so pretty. The guidebooks say there are no canal trips in December, but there are, take a boat at dusk for the best of both worlds.

Such an incredible place to stay. Our room was a delight - clean, cosy but also roomy. The vegan breakfast one of the best we’ve had. The location couldn’t have been better - a quiet spot but very central and easy to pop back to for a quick rest or drop things off. And the hosting was amazing, making a great time in Bruges exceptional. And the Gucci, the dog, was the icing on the cake. We’re already talking about our next stay there.

enjoyed a lot. spacious room. steps away from the center. small street was a plus as there was almost no noise from cars or pedestrians.
no breakfast so the b&b should come from bed & bed....instead.....
during the stay there was no housekeeping and this was the strangest and very unexpected!
over all a pleasant experience on a central location.

This bed & breakfast is a gem. Ideally located in the city, very central and close to Bruges train station. The hosts of Amato welcomed us with discretion and kindness. I recommend this place to stay. Very quiet place including at night despite the end of year bustle and the location of the hyper central establishment. Very clean. Well decorated. A renovation is planned for early January 2025. The view of the belfry is just superb both for the view and to hear the sound of its chime.
Fine and gourmet breakfast, varied. Quantity and quality guaranteed to start the day well.

Exceeded my expectations. Amato-Brugge is located 1 block from the historic square in Brugge, in the middle of the beautiful medieval old town. Stegn and Kristoph went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. My room is charming and comfortable, amenities are great, and they have the best dog - Gucci!

My husband and I stayed two nights at the Sint Niklaas Bed & Breakfast in Brugge, Belgium in April, 2005. We just loved it the moment we walked through the front door. Shaun Clarke, the owner, greeted us and made us feel right at home. Shaun and his wife Kim have just done a complete restoration of this building. They have tastefully decorated it. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable.

We stayed in the oval bedroom. It has a king bed with soft, fluffy bedding. The en-suite bathroom has a claw-foot tub as well as a large, tiled walk-in shower. Bath products are supplied as well as a boxed Belgium chocolate on the pillow.

For breakfast we had a choice of cereals, eggs cooked any way, homemade jams, croissants, breads, ham, cheese, yogurt, fresh fruit cup, Nutella and chocolates. Everything was beautifully presented. There are fresh flowers everywhere.

Shawn gave us great suggestions for what to do in Brugge. We rented bikes and road along the canal to the city of Damm. The B & B is right in the center of town, walking distance to everything you want to see. It is about a 7 Euro cab ride from the train station.

I will definitely stay at the Sint Niklaas Bed & Breakfast if I ever get a chance to return to the beautiful town of Brugge.

Their address is sint-niklaasstraat 18, 8000 Bruges, Belgium. Phone number ----

This B&B was stunning, such a treat! The house is absolutely beautiful with so much character and simple elegance. Everything is absolutely spotless with nice little extras like special toiletries. The location was subperb making everything in Brugge so easy to get to! A real plus was the local knowledge that Sean, the owner, gives from the best chocloates in town, great restaurants and pubs and which train to catch home! We had a fantastic chilled out weekend in such stunning surroundings. One of the best things was waking up in the moring, and even though it is so central, it is so quiet, to the smell of fresh bread baking. The breakfasts are suburb with fresh crossaints, friut, yoghurt, bread, freshly squeezed orange juice and nice coffee - it is a great way to start the day and we really miss it!!!

We would definitely recommend this place, as it was so beautiful and made our stay in Brugge so much better!

What can I say, this was the most ideal setting and accommodation imaginable for the proposal to my wife to be. I wanted to find a place that would be special and unforgettable for such an occasion, and I certainly found it.

Kim and Shaun have gone to extraordinary lengths to make their home extremely welcoming and to give it that special something that I have never experienced before. From the shimmering candles in the window to the immaculately presented and tasty breakfasts this is without doubt an experience within an experience.

The fact that Kim and Shaun are so enthusiastic and obviously love what they have created, all contribute towards a most memorable stay for anyone. Each room has been carefully designed to provide a unique modern, yet elegant design befitting the ambience of beautiful Bruges and the house itself.

For more reasons than one, I will never forget it.

Conveniently located to the Market Square, this bed and breakfast has been superbly restored to perfection. We stayed in the Rooftop room with wonderful views of the Belfry and church. I couldn't agree more with the previous reviewers, the owners Shaun & Kim are just fantastic - they waited up for our arrival and when we awoke Shaun had prepared a lovely breakfast, with fresh orange juice and pastries. They are passionate and enthusiastic about Brugges, offering great advice from where to go for a beer, to sampling the local cuisine.
If you're looking for a relaxing, luxurious weekend away - look no further!

We spent 4 nights at Sint Niklaas and had, at the risk of being dramatic, an amazing stay.

We weren't supposed to stay 4 nights, but once we arrived, we liked the room so much we decided to cancel our reservation at Hotel Welcome in Brussells.

This was our first time in Brugge and our first time traveling with our 5 month old. We didn't do much pre-planning, just hopped on a plane and arrived.

Sean had great suggestions on where to go for great food and beer. He even made some phone calls looking for the "hard to find" non-smoking restaurant reservations while we were out sightseeing. Much appreciated.

Pros:
Excellent breakfast. Sean bakes his own crossaints that rival any we have EVER tasted (France, etc).

Big spacious room with super comfortable bed and linens--We stayed in the Oval room.

Fantastic location.

*Free high speed internet access in room.

The most helpful hosts I've encountered.
==========

If location matters, then there is none better, within 50 yards of The Markt. More importantly the best Waffle/Pancake place is about 30 yards away :).

One night our infant son got sick and Sean ran out and picked up some medicine for us. He consulted with the Pharmacist and brought back some much needed items.

His enthusiasm for Brugge is contagious. Brugge is a magical place and its charm rubs off on the people there. Not only did we feel enveloped in the charm of Brugge while staying at Sint Niklass B&B, but we felt our hosts went above and beyond in making our stay as great as it was.
