Close to city centre and train station. Room has no air conditioning and the room was very stuffy. They had a small fan but didn’t realise the windows can be open on a angle at the top. Our room got the afternoon sun which made the room hotter. It’s ok if you’re happy for basic facilities. They don’t have laundry service but otherwise it was reasonable place to stay

We stayed here for one night. On arrival we received a friendly welcome and the details of breakfast, WiFi etc were explained. I'd taken a room upgrade online to what the hotel calls the "lover's room". This turned out to be a tiny 19th century house free standing in the courtyard (I'll upload photos). Don't get this room of you're in any way mobility impaired, do book it if you're a romantic couple or on honeymoon etc. It's approached via a short but steep stone staircase. On entry you are faced with a small room dominated by a large comfortable bed, alongside a small desk and chair. Built above the bed and accessed by a stout wooden ladder is a lounge area - basically a large foam cushion about 2.5 metres square with scatter cushions. Facing this is a large flat screen TV - there is another at the end of the bed. Down a steep wooden stair in what must have been the original cellar is a large bathroom. There's a large corner bath that could accommodate 2 with a shower tap - it's not practical as a shower as it's mounted too low and the bath is VERY slippery when wet. There's a selection of gels and soaps provided. It's really not a very practical room, but it is great fun. As others have observed there are no brewing facilities - this is Europe and outside the large chains brewing facilities are not common. If this matters to you as it does to us, take a travel kettle and cups and your chosen poison. There are plenty of electrical outlets in the room. Breakfast is served on the main building in a high ceilinged traditional room - all dark woods and a couple of impressive chandeliers. There's plenty to eat - hot breakfast but not English style (the hotel is not in England!) - scrambled eggs, little cocktail sausages, shredded bacon (the sweet Dutch style), beans and mushrooms. Also an excellent choice of cold meats and hard and soft cheese, a good selection of breads and pastries (croissants and pain au chocolat etc) as well as cereals and yoghurts, juices and hot drinks. There's a large and clean underground car park next to the hotel -8.70 EUR for 24 hours, and it's an easy 10 minute walk to the centre of Bruges. Overall this isn't a very practical room and I wouldn't recommend this for a business trip or a long stay, but for a couple on holiday who'd like a fun stay definitely book a night in the "lovers' room"at the Golden Tree.

Very accommodating staff excellent bed room and breakfast fast. Close to the town centre just a short walk away with secure parking couldn’t fault it. A good location to visit the WW1 & WW2 sites of pilgrimage

We had overnight stop whilst travelling through and wanted to see Bruges. Ideal location as only a few minutes walk away from the square, outside didn’t appear so good but inside much better. We were able to book parking in advance, limited spaces so a must, rooms clean tidy and modern. Only negative not tea / coffee in the room. There was in reception. Would stay again

A group of us stayed here for a night whilst visiting Bruges, room was a good size, clean and comfortable. Decor was a little tried but it looks like they are currently refurbishing. We arrived early and the staff were great, very welcoming and it was great to be able to leave our bags and return later, so we could go out an explore. Check out was just as friendly an experiencing. I would say it was the staff's level of service really made our stay, so thank you for making us feel so welcome!!
