We went to the restaurant here, had a Croque-monsieur, this is what they called it all it was was a very dry ham and cheese toastie which cost €10. This is also the only place we went where the beer tasted funny. Friend had soup and it was tomato soup with big lumps of celery in. (This should have been... More

This place is very bad. Avoid the restaurant if you don't want to waste money for sth what is not eatable (we left most of the food which we got)! All the food is from the supermarket and not well cooked. This was the worst Belgian food experience ever (even fries were disgusting).

My friend and I were in Brugge for a few relaxing days and had been travelling from Brussels and sightseeing most of the day so we were pretty tired and really hungry, the setting for this restaurant looked nothing short of idyllic, right next to the canal with pretty twinkling lights. Looks are very deceptive. It took us 10 minutes... More

Ordered two drinks outside but moved to a seat in the sun , waiter took umbridge at us moving and then refused to give our drinks at our new table 10 feet away .........so I went and got them and quickly took a drink from my chocolate . He then lied and told me our drinks were for someone else... More

After searching for a restaurant we happened upon theHotel Uilenspeigel. The dining room was a bit shabby. The food was average but not worth the price. After presenting the check at the end of the meal our waiter asked if we would be paying in cash. We said we would pay by credit card. He watched while the slip was being... More

The restaurant was pretty full when we looked through the window so we thought it must be OK. We could not have been more wrong...the food arrived in record time and was obviously pre-cooked and warmed up. But they couldn't even get that right as 2 of the 4 meals were still cold. We complained and received a load of... More

This place was the only one that could cater for a last minute group of 6 on a holiday weekend and that should have warned us!! I don't think that there were any locals eating there and all those that were looked pretty miserable. The food which was eye-watering expensive was awful. Words failed me when I had chosen something... More

Stopped here for some food on a Saturday lunchtime as you could sit outside by the canal. Had a hard time getting the attention of a waiter. Didn't have to wait too long for the food, but when it arrived it wasn't great. Prices higher than in the centre of the town. Good if you want to sit by the... More

This place was my saving grace. I had a long day at Antwerp before coming to Bruges and missed an earlier train which in turn got me 50 minutes late for my check-in at an earlier booked small B&B which I had found on Tripadvisor. The owner gave me a mini lecture about how I shouldn't be late and he... More

I did not follow my own advice. To my fellow travellers I warned them of empty restaurants, usually the worst food and poorest service. They are empty for a reason. On the hope of a good pizza and beer in a nice looking restaurant with a living fire inside I missed completely that this was the only restaurant with a... More
