Hotel De Tuilerieen is frequently celebrated for its elegant atmosphere, thanks to its luxurious details and period furnishings, providing a sophisticated charm that resonates with guests. The central location earns high marks for convenience, placing visitors at the heart of tourist attractions. While the amenities, including a private pool and high-quality toiletries, receive positive attention, some guests mention additional charges and a desire for more ironing options. Although the rooms are admired for their comfort and cleanliness, a few travelers suggest they could benefit from additional amenities. Overall, despite concerns over value due to overpriced breakfast and extra fees, the hotel's cleanliness and service are often highlighted, with staff members garnering praise for their helpfulness.

Loved everything about this hotel. The staff made us feel so welcome and were super friendly from the moment we arrived. The hotel interiors look so beautiful and stylish, we visited during festive holidays, so all the decorations made it even prettier. Stunning lounge with wonderful Christmas tree and open fireplace. The bar area will make you feel so cozy and almost as if you are in different era, with all the stylish features and another open fireplace.
Our room had everything you would hope for, coffee and tea making facilities, big, clean and comfy bed, flat screen TV, mini bar and great bathroom with large bath and lovely shower. Nice selection of toiletries.
Breakfast is just wonderful, and although you have to pay 25€ per person, it's definitely money well spend (also, considering you will pay much more if you would go to have a nice breakfast at any caffee in Bruges) Glass of champagne at breakfast arrival was such a lovely touch! Fantastic selection of pastries, fruit, breads and condiments.
At the checkout, they gave us little travel bag with some water and apples, which was once again a wonderful touch.
Great stay, we've had a wonderful time and definitely will be back there soon!

I have shared your review with the team and please accept our genuine gratitude. Your positive review is a source of great incentive for us and it was a real pleasure to welcome you when our hotel (and our city) was decked out with all the decorations. As, yes, it was indeed a very festive end of 2019 and what we believe to be a marvelous time to visit even for repeat visitors. Thank you for pointing out all the aspects of your stay that you enjoyed: */ pretty Christmas decorations */ cozy bar with stylish features and an open fire (features that honor the history of the building) */ room which you found to be big/clean and comfy bed */ bathroom with large bath and lovely shower and nice selection of toiletries (Guerlain) */ wonderful breakfast with a glass of champagne, a fantastic selection of pastries, fruit, breads & condiments */ a little travel bag with water and apples We hope to welcome you again at some point, maybe during another time of year!

We’ve been staying at the DeTuilerieen at Christmas for many years. We can’t really imagine staying at any other hotel. The Twilly makes you feel special. They achieve this in part by being exclusive. The gates of their excellent carpark lock firmly behind you and there’s a prominent sign outside the front entrance to the hotel that advises non-residents that they may not use any of the hotel amenities including the bar. I guess they pay a price for this but its very much to the benefit of guests who have the cosy lounge to themselves. They also achieve this exclusive feel through their staff who manage to be able to treat you as respected friends right from first encounter.

Like much of Brugge, the hotel is a preserved historical building but the Twilly’s owners have done much to keep the period elegance of its interior as well. This has resulted in some small comprises in the bedrooms. In a modern system built hotel I’d be critical of the lack of available power sockets by the bed, for example, but the elegance of the room more than compensates for thus. The polished hard wood floors, the brick fire place, period escritoire or the beautiful chandelier set the accommodation apart from others hotels. We chose a Royal Executive room on the first floor. With its three metre high ceiling and four full length windows it’s lovely to be able to welcome so much light on a winter’s morning. Of course you have to pull four sets of heavy curtains and reattach the eight tie-backs; in another life you’d call the servant to do that!

It’s good to see that Brugge has bounced back from the tourist deprivations of the pandemic. The Twilly has not escaped completely unscathed, though; the large, airy lounge that we preferred to the bar has been closed to residents (its become a private function room apparently). Also the breakfast buffet has definitely shrunk, though the choice and service remain of the highest quality.

For us, there’s still no debate; we will be back!

The hotel was immaculately presented, the reception and Concierge staff were very friendly and extremely helpful to us both before our arrival and throughout our stay. As we were celebrating a special birthday, we were thrilled to be upgraded to a wonderful canal view room which had first class amenities! The hotel breakfast was good and the bar area was quaint, well stocked and extremely welcoming. Our lasting memory was of a high quality hotel in a fantastic location with staff of a quality you rarely find these days (a special thank you to Jean-Philippe!!) We would thoroughly recommend this hotel!

We were underwhelmed with our stay. The hotel looks impressive but when we arrived last night we were disappointed to be given a ground floor room which smelled of sewage.

Our room was apparently an upgrade, but when we asked to move to another room which did not smell of faeces they didn't have any other rooms free. There was a note on the desk wishing someone a happy birthday, presumably the person who had been allocated the room before us and also asked to change. We felt that in arriving late we had been given what was left. The only solution offered to deal with the smell was some kind of perfuming unit which clearly we were not comfortable having on all night, especially as I am pregnant and we were unsure about the fumes being emitted from the unit. We were offered no compensation or apology.

The location of the room also meant that we could hear reception and the comings and going’s of guests clearly. The hotel denied responsibility for this, but some responsibility must be taken for not having soft-close doors and locating rooms near reception.

We would not stay again and would not recommend this hotel.

Dear Lydia, I was extremely sorry to receive your feed-back recently posted on TripAdvisor. We very much regret that we were not able to make your stay at Hotel De Tuilerieën memorable. It is very much in our ethos to provide a genuine and personal service for each and every guest to enjoy their stay with us. Having fallen short of providing you with such experience, is upsetting to us all. Due to a sold out situation on your arrival day, regrettably, we were not able to provide you immediately another room. We upgraded indeed your room from a comfort room ( 18m² ) to a large executive room 30 m²; You requested a quiet room, so we assumed this would be the best solution for you. After your check out I checked your room and there was no smell in the room. During check out our staff did offer an apology. Thank you again for your comments and we hope we may welcome you back again one day soon. Please do contact me directly to allow me to personally assist you with your arrangements.

We booked a family break (young family of four) over 2022 New Year, paying extra for a flexible reservation given the current uncertainty around COVID.

Having tested positive for COVID 48 hours before our arrival date, we contacted the hotel by phone to cancel the booking.

After the hotel colleague acknowledged our cancellation, he told us that we could recover the cost of the booking due to testing positive for Covid, provided we confirmed in writing - At no time did he specify within what timeframe this needed to be done. We agreed that we would confirm in writing upon confirmation of a positive PCR test.

When confirming the following day, we were told that the cancellation conditions had not been met as we did not confirm in writing 48 hours before arrival, despite having contacted the hotel by phone 48 hours before and at no point being told that written confirmation was required 48 hours prior to arrival.

The hotel refused to repay any of the costs of the booking (more than £2,500), or even offer the possibility of postponing our reservation, despite us doing the right thing and cancelling, with 48 hours notice, and misrepresented the facts to suit themselves.

All that money lost without even stepping foot into the hotel. A complete lack of integrity that left us with a very bitter pill to swallow.

Dear Madam, Many thanks for your reaction on Tripadvisor. I regret to read this information. Our staff informed you that we need all information by email 48h before arrival date to cancel your reservation free of charge. ( which was already an exception ) Since we did not received this information, we applied our cancellation policy. Many thanks for your understanding.

Amazing hotel, location, pool and the staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Printing details for luggage deposit At Brussels MIDI station. Recommending stunning restaurants in Bruges. I could go on for ever! The breakfast each morning was freshly prepared, stunningly presented & tasted gorgeous! The pool was a little haven of relaxation and as it was quite small you can reserve it for just your family - highly recommend doing that! Would go back in a heartbeat!

Lovely hotel. Great location by the canal and in the heart of the town. The rooms are nice and spacious. They are modest in decoration and not fancy but that works okay especially because of the size. The bathrooms were really modern and superb with great fittings and body products. Noise can carry from guests outside the room at times and a little more tea etc amenities in the room would be helpful. Overall very nice and with a lovely cosy common lounge to relax in.

Fantastic service, and a beautifully kept room/property. As an SLH Invited guest, the continental breakfast was delightful and delivered as room service. There was a charge to use the pool, but the trade off of having the private use of the pool and sauna facilities for 45 min was money well spent. The staff was wonderful, helpful and able to accommodate a few family requests. Without question we’ll be back the next time we co e to Bruges.

We started staying at this historic boutique hotel since 2015 and stayed over 100 nights over the years.

The first few years were great with a back patio and indoor pool and spa. It also had a fabulous breakfast buffet with local yogurt, homemade lemon and blueberry muffins and brosecco.

Now, the back patio has moldy bushes and a school behind it where the kiddies seem to have permanent outdoor recess with constant screaming. The free Wi-Fi never connects. Russian ladies stayed in the room next to us and partied all night long. Finally, there is no more local yogurt, homemade lemon and blueberry muffins, nor brosecco.

The staff pretends to be nice but if you want a place with a smirk on their face then this is your place!

My recent visit to Hotel De Tuilerieen in Bruges was undoubtedly the highlight of my trip to Holland and Belgium. This hotel scores a massive plus for its prime location—right in the heart of Bruges, amidst the city's most significant attractions. Its central position made it incredibly easy to explore this enchanting medieval city on foot, yet it's conveniently only a 20-minute walk from the train station.

Surrounding the hotel are myriad shops, chocolatiers, breweries, and waffle stores, enhancing the local experience. Hotel De Tuilerieen served as the perfect hub for my adventures in Bruges.

Turning to the hotel itself, it is simply beautiful. My room was as picturesque as it was comfortable, reminiscent of staying in a dollhouse. This unique experience is something I will cherish forever. For those planning a stay, I highly recommend requesting a room on the third floor for the best views and experience.

Hotel De Tuilerieen is not just a place to stay; it’s a significant part of the Bruges experience, blending comfort with charm in a perfect location.
