BRYGHIA HOTEL, its building located in part of the original "Domus Osterlingorum", has always been an important part of Bruges' history. During the Middle Ages it was the most important of 4 trading houses of the German Hanseatic League and in the mid 20th century it became a hotel, with only the coat of arms of the Holy Roman Empire hanging above the doorway as a reminder of its rich past. As a family owned hotel we believe that our staff make BRYGHIA HOTEL a truly special place to stay at, with unrivalled hospitality services and impeccable standards of care and excellence. Every member of our team has been selected because they aspire to uphold those values and strive to offer our guests a warm and intimate atmosphere with highly personalised service.

Tucked away in a quiet historical part of the city right next to one of the canals but just a 5 minutes walk from Market
Square. The owners ,Johann and his son Stephen, welcome you like one of the family and go out of their way to
ensure that your stay meets your expectations. They also have a great knowledge of Brugge which is very helpful.
They have lovingly refurbished the hotel with modern facilities and decor. Our bed was the most comfortable one we have experienced at any hotel .A simple but adequate buffet continental breakfast is offered in the cosy dining room.
Offsite secure garage parking is available at a charge but needs to be booked well in advance as spaces are limited.
Plenty of small local good restaurants are situated nearby at reasonable cost avoiding the need to go to those larger more expensive businesses on the main market square.Having visited Brugge many times and stayed at several other hotels ,this is by far THE BEST ,we will definitely be returning.

My daughter and I visited in July and were very pleased with this small , clean , well situated hotel. The owners were very COVID aware and had organised the hotel to minimise any chance of infection - really put my mind at ease. The hotel is in a quiet area with easy access to the centre and the owner gave us a map and an idea of the city layout and main attractions. We had a lovely break despite the pandemic - so good to get away at last and to a hotel which had put in place all the necessary precautions.

We stayed here for 5 nights, the owners were both very helpful and informative. We were greeted with a short explanation on what's interesting to visit in the town and up in our room we found some Belgian chocolates, nice touch. We were given a mosquito killing device for our room which helped but we had to leave the windows closed - not good when it's extremely hot outside and there's only a fan to blow the warm air around. Maybe the owners will consider a mini air-con machine for guests when it's very hot to help guests get some sleep. We did have a fridge in the room which was excellent. We ate breakfast out most days, apart from the last morning when for expediency we ate at the hotel. It was unfortunately a disappointing meal. We'd got used to freshly squeezed orange juice eating out, also fresh loaves of bread thickly sliced. what we had at the Bryghia was orange juice from a carton and thinly sliced bead from a supermarket loaf. Very disappointing, also the room information had advised it was E12.50 per person and we got charged E15 per person. So, I would say it's a nice place to stay location wise, but avoid the hot rooms at the front of the hotel (we had Room 22) and eat your breakfast at one of the lovely restaurants in town.

We stayed here whilst celebrating a birthday in Bruges. We booked a canal view room and the hotel didn't disappoint giving us a room with a lovely view which really set the scene for an enjoyable stay in Bruges. Great location too - just a few minutes walk from the main square. We appreciated the welcome gift of chocolates on arrival - they were delicious!

The room was spacious, well furnished and clean with a comfortable bed. The shower pressure in the bathroom was very good. The young chap at reception was very helpful providing a map and useful advice. We paid for breakfast at 12.50 euros pp for the convenience, but probably wouldn't again as we found it quite a basic offering for the price.

Overall, we felt very relaxed and at home and would happily stay again.

I stayed at the Bryghia Hotel with my fiancé in October 2022 (having first visited there in Sept 2007). We arrived before the official check in time but our room was ready and available. The guy who runs/owns the place and works the reception was extremely friendly and helpful making some great recommendations for places to eat and drink. Our room was very clean and cleaned daily. This is a perfect little hotel in a quiet part of Bruges just a 10 min walk from the main town square. I'd definitely recommend it to friends and anyone else.

Lovely quiet location alongside a small canal but only 7 mins from the main square. Owner very friendly and offered map with key locations. Beds were very comfy and shower was hot. Rooms are a little dated but excellent value. Breakfast available for €13 but as we dont eat a lot of breakfast just got a pastry and coffee down the road. Area felt very safe.

This a wonderful hotel with that personal touch of being family run. It’s a prime example of doing the simple things extremely well which is often missed elsewhere. We were provided a lovely welcome on arrival with an overview of Bruges. Breakfast is a healthy mix of a continental style. The hotel itself is also located close to the centre of the city. Overall it is a great balance of excellent value, location and personal touches which make it an enjoyable stay.

On arrival we received such a warm welcome. We were very impressed as the hotel owner was happy to share lots of interesting information to help us plan our stay in Bruges.
Nothing was too much trouble and all our questions were answered. It was our first time in the city so lots of advice on what to do really helped us make the most of our trip. Also given a money saving voucher to use!

The hotel was located in a quiet area of Bruges, but still just a five minute walk from the beautiful main town square. The canal walks right outside the hotel front doors were stunning. We loved how you get the best of the busy town centre but also quiet romantic walks if you wish.

The entire hotel is Spotlessly clean and we had a very comfortable tidy room. The bed was very comfy, slept very well.
I recommend paying a little bit extra for canal view room, the view was beautiful.
Breakfast was lovely with lots of choice. Relaxing atmosphere.
We had a wonderful time exploring Bruges and had a fantastic hotel to relax in.
Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay again.

We were a group of 4 who had a lovely 2 night stay for the Bruges Christmas market. This hotel is a real gem in a quiet neighbourhood but still very close to walk to the centre of the old town. Stephen and Johann were extremely welcoming and helpful hosts. They made reservations for us at 2 great local family run restaurants which we would have never found on our own, and booked a taxi for our departure to the station. Thanks for making our stay in Bruges very special.

Everything. Our host, Steven was brilliant, a warm welcome when we arrived, clear explanation about the hotel and our room. He showed us on the city map our location and some of the main tourist areas. Throughout our stay he was always available, very friendly and helpful, he helped with our return train journey and arranged for our taxi. A perfect host.

The hotel location was excellent, Bruges is quite small and the hotel was within easy walking distance of all the squares, museums, restaurants etc.

Our room was comfortable, warm, clean and serviced every day.

Dear Jo, Many thanks for your question! The hotel has recently reopened under new management and has undergone refurbishment. We are happy to say all beds and mattresses have also recently been replaced and now offer our guests a far superior sleeping experience. As for the taxi fees, these will normally be around €7 to €10 depending on the time of day. I hope this has answered your questions, if you are ever in Bruges again, do not hesitate to get in touch with us! Kind regards, Steven F. Vanrenterghem Owner

Dear Jo, Many thanks for your question! The hotel has recently reopened under new management and has undergone refurbishment to better accommodate our guests in the future. A bus journey from the railway station in Bruges takes about 20 minutes. Tickets can be bought on the bus so there is no need to buy a travel card in advance. How much is the parking fee 9overnight0 and what is name of the car park?
Bruges, Belgium3 contributions5 helpful votes
Dear Richard, Many thanks for your question! The hotel has recently reopened under new management and has also undergone substantial refurbishment. We have three underground garage boxes at our disposal (5 minutes' walk away from the hotel). Securing one early is essential as they are very popular with our guests and parking places in the city centre of Bruges are limited. The current price we charge is €10/night. Keys can be picked up from the reception desk. I hope this has answered your question, if you are ever in Bruges again, do not hesitate to get in touch with us! Kind regards, Steven F.
