Hotel de Orangerie is located right on the most picturesque canal of medieval Bruges in the very heart of the city centre. This small XV century monastery of the Sisters Karthuizerinnen has been converted into a wonderful "boutique hotel", furnished with exclusive fabrics and antiques. All of the 20 graciously bedrooms have been individually decorated with antiques and offer all the modern comfort that the discerning traveller expects. In the elegant Salon along the canal, guests can relax by the open fire, in comfortable sofas while going through the available art books and international magazines, and enjoying a drink which is served round the clock. It is recommended to enjoy the typical English “Afternoon Tea” or an aperitif either on the waterfront terrace or in the cozy and enchanted breakfast room.

Stayed at Hotel de Orangerie for day/night visit to Brugge and the room was lovely, clean and unique. Fabulous location in the heart of Brugge. Service provided by staff was excellent. Try and book a room overlooking the canal-beautiful. Recommend this to travelers. Just be careful of room size request a larger one if possible.

Lovely setting, really delightful staff, a small but comfortable room, and best of all, the superb breakfast served in the delightful dining room, made for a perfect night in Bruges. Our table by the window for breakfast looking onto the canal was so lovely, we wanted to stay there all day. But the hotel is in such a good location you can explore Bruges, bring back shopping or rest from seeing one of the excellent museums nearby or hop on a canal boat trip from just outside the hotel.

We had just been to the beer museum and although it was still early afternoon popped into the Hotel de Orangerie hoping they could serve us afternoon tea on their terrace by the side of the canal. We asked at reception and were told in a most friendly and welcoming way that this could be arranged and to take seats on the terrace. Soon a young lady arrived to take our order and told us that it would take a little time because the oven was still warming up for the scones. She kept us advised on progress and then had to tell us of a delay with the coffee because of a problem with the equipment. We very much appreciated being kept informed and the offer of substitute drinks while the coffee was awaited. Many establishments would have just left us waiting wondering why our order had not been fulfilled. From our experience this hotel really does understand customer service and has obviously imbued this in their staff. A special thanks to our young waitress who would be an asset to any customer service organisation. The scones, jam, cream and coffee when it arrived was excellent and we much enjoyed our sojourn by the canal. Highly recommended

Quite simply the hotel was lovely, the staff were lovely, Bruges was lovely - what more can I say? It was a fantastic few days and I would have no hesitation in booking again. It really was a pleasure to stay at this beautiful and perfectly located hotel.

Yes, Bruges is a condensed city and so most places are walkable but I honestly can't think of a better location to stay while touring this beautiful city. Tucked away off of a main strip, immediately next to a fantastic belgian brewery, and around the corner from the canal tours. *Outstanding* outdoor patio overlooking said canal, having evening cocktails on it was one of the highlights of our trip. Very friendly and helpful service, would definitely recommend it.
