Travelers' Choice
Hotel de Orangerie is located right on the most picturesque canal of medieval Bruges in the very heart of the city centre. This small XV century monastery of the Sisters Karthuizerinnen has been converted into a wonderful "boutique hotel", furnished with exclusive fabrics and antiques. All of the 20 graciously bedrooms have been individually decorated with antiques and offer all the modern comfort that the discerning traveller expects. In the elegant Salon along the canal, guests can relax by the open fire, in comfortable sofas while going through the available art books and international magazines, and enjoying a drink which is served round the clock. It is recommended to enjoy the typical English “Afternoon Tea” or an aperitif either on the waterfront terrace or in the cozy and enchanted breakfast room.

If you’re after a romantic getaway - Bruges is the place. This hotel has so much charm, situated right next to the river you get a scenic view of the buildings. The room was styled in my opinion ideal for Bruges, it was large and offered all the essentials (slippers, robes, water, fridge, shampoo etc) along with some yummy chocolate. You also get on arrival a free glass of champagne - and it’s good champagne. The hotel is conveniently situated very close to the main square, and the main shopping area for waffles, beer and chocolate. Only slight down point, but this is not a reflection on the hotel as it’s perfect. 1. The hotel does not provide dinner, so I would ask reception for advice on where to eat. My suggestion is don’t eat in the square as its double the price it was only 6 months ago and sadly I felt the food had gone down hill. 2. Be aware, parking is a nightmare. So do book a space with the hotel beforehand. It’s about 35Euros.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel. The location on the canal and proximity to the shops, bars and square etc is perfect. The decor is wonderful. Our room was amazing, had a loo with a view. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The highlight was the breakfast, amazing choice of food and champagne to really start your day off with a bang. Highly recommend this hotel, we would love to come back during the summer and Christmas as Bruges is such a pretty, quaint town. The free strawberries and champagne on arrival was a lovely welcome.

Beautifully decorated hotel with lots of charm and character. Room was very comfortable as was the large bed. Toiletries were of a high standard, and there was a Nespresso machine in the room. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The service was outstanding throughout and everyone was very helpful and cheerful. The location was very central and right on the canal.

Lovely attentive staff. Patient with my humour which was marvellous considering English is not their main language. You’ll be offered a complimentary bottle of Krug when you arrive. We decided just to have two glasses out of modesty. Comfortable room properly decorated. Homely feel

A very pretty hotel. Centrally placed and with a fabulous terrace. We felt as if we had stepped back in time to old school chic. The team are great and we were welcomed with a glass of champagne on the terrace. It’s a great spot and perfect for people watching; short walk to the main square. Our room was small but perfectly formed. The bed extremely comfortable. I wish we could have stayed for longer. Why not 5? No bath and a terrible recommendation for lunch (really bad -please see my other review) but do not be put off, this place is splendid.

Very friendly and cozy hotel. Very attentive to your needs. I would highly recommend this hotel. Just be careful getting out of shower. Our room had marble floors and when wet very slippery! Perfect location.

We loved Orangerie and would definitely go back. We checked in to a wonderful box of Belgian chocolates as a thank you for booking direct. Our suite was at the top of the hotel. Our windows looking out over the tile rooftops, church spires, and Brugge. The hotel is quirky, quaint and charming. Bathrooms modern. Perfect location with a short walk to the Market square. And THE postcard shot of Brugge. There is a hotel terrace on the canal where we enjoyed drinks. And a lovely bar with fireplace for a night cap. The breakfast buffet was lovely. As well as the high tea. We received wonderful restaurant/other suggestions and the staff were very personable (lots of women were in charge and working!). Lovely comfortable stay and would highly recommend
