Wow, Wow, Wow!! Staff great, friendly informative and helpful. Room was amazing, much more than we expected with the private table on the terrace a great extra touch. View along the canal from the terrace was great. Loved watching the world go by whilst enjoying a nice drink. Location was great, in the centre with everything you would wish to see very close and easily accessible, parking very close by too (4mins walk for public car park). We will definitely be back!
The hotel staff were super friendly, the breakfast delicious and the room was amazing. As an added bonus the hotel is pet friendly and our dog was happy to find some yummy treats when we arrived. We will be back!
A lovely hotel in an old, but well maintained building. The room was very comfortable. The hotel is in a great location to explore Bruges on foot. We did not eat there, so cannot comment on the food. By and large, the hotel staff was friendly and helpful. However, while they were kind enough to provide a complimentary glass of champagne on arrival, the woman who served it, upon learning we were from the U.S., seemed compelled, although never having been to the U.S., to tell us what a terrible country we lived in. She went on to tell us that she would never allow her sons to travel there because it was such a violent and racist country. We chose not to engage in what would obviously been, a fruitless debate with someone who had such strong opinions about a country to which she had never been. While we loved Bruges, needless to say, this put a damper on our time there.…
Horrible parking situation. Plus, no doorman to help carry bags from hotel to parking structure. You pay $500 for a room but have to schlep your bags 600 yards down a city street, over a bridge to the structure. Why don’t they hire a doorman? I’d tip the guy $30 easy. Very nice front desk people. Mediocre breakfast. Expensive too. But good location and charming rooms facing the canal.
We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful, historic hotel. Management was very accommodating when COVID put a stop to our planned Christmas visit and graciously extended our voucher for almost two years. On arrival, staff was incredibly pleasant and helpful, escorting us to our canal view room (112). The room is large and furnished with antiques with a picturesque view of the canal. The bathroom is modern and well equipped with toiletries. I wasn’t explicit in my booking that we needed twin beds and the wonderful lady who escorted us to our room changed the king sized bedding to two twins. It wasn’t her job, but she cheerfully pulled the bed apart and brought new bedding for two beds. A lovely lady indeed - always greeted us with a smile during our stay. A welcome drink was offered in the lounge with a small selection of cheeses. Very tasty. The breakfasts were plentiful with scrambled eggs, ham, potatoes and pancakes, as well as a huge variety of pastries, cereal, yoghurt, meats, cheese, fruit - and chocolate! The breakfast room staff at the weekend was particularly efficient. This is a beautiful hotel in a prime location, and I am so glad I chose it. If you can, try and book a canal view room. They are a good size with a great view.…
Loved this hotel! We were 2 families traveling with 6 college age kids and needed 6 rooms. Every room had a unique look and and was so charming. The hotel staff was lovely! Maite, thanks agin for all your help setting up dinners and hotel transfers! Breakfast was beautiful and we loved the lobby for relaxing with a game of chess! Can't wait to stay here again! The location was perfect-walking distance to everything! Thanks again for a beautiful stay!
This hotel was more than we asked for. They have an outstanding breakfast spread and eating the breakfast on the terrace was quite the experience. Staff are very friendly and are there to welcome you and make you feel at home! We will return!!
The hotel is central, with easy access to the wonderful city and all its charms. My husband had booked it for my 70th birthday special treat, which had to be delayed because of COVID until June. The frontage of the hotel is beautiful as are the communal areas. However on arrival we were told our room was in the annexe and I would not recommend staying there. It felt to me like we were staying in an air b and b. As a previous traveller has mentioned I think they are trying to make savings, if this is so please don’t present me with an apple, a pear and a small bottle of water in a luxury paper bag on leaving! Whilst our room was made up daily I do not think the sheets were changed (we stayed for 3 nights) we disappointingly had no turn down service with the little luxury of a chocolate (let’s face it you are in Belgium, the home of the best chocolate in the world) The towels are thin, worn and frayed not at all luxurious and the toiletries meagre. There is no slip mat for the shower which is over the bath and there is no grab rail ( Should you require extra tea/coffee it is at a cost of 6euro. There were fleece blankets but no dressing gowns . The wardrobe, I am sure would be called shabby chic, but a touch of oil on the door would not go amiss. The wardrobe and dressing table are there to represent the Deluxe Heritage aspect of the room, this felt like tokenism especially as the modern built in units were not particularly brilliant. The arm chairs however were very comfortable as were the beds. The entrance to the annexe is nowhere near as grand as the hotel, a couple of lanterns and small console tables and mirror gave the impression of after thought rather than clever well thought out interior.design. All this might sound extremely petty but it was a special occasion and we did not feel at all special or spoilt. My husband paid £785.00 (920euro) for the 3 nights, this did not include breakfast or parking., so maybe you understand why we were very disappointed. For me Bruges is remarkable, wonderful and memorable, the hotel is not. If you do choose to stay, have a lovely time but do not stay in the annexe and don’t go for a special occasion.…
We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel de Orangerie. The location is perfect - very central but also quiet and tranquil. We stayed in the annex, which is very nice. The room was large and the bathroom was enormous. Everything was very comfortable. Service at the reception and at breakfast was excellent. The breakfast was quite good, with great attention to detail. Highly recommended and a good value.
This Hotel is amazing with the perfect location. You will have access to all city center activities nearby. The service was perfect. Of note, the breakfast room is a Wonderfull place where to stay in calm.
