Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

Martin's Brugge enjoys a central location that many guests find ideal for exploring nearby attractions and dining out. While the hotel's cleanliness and quaint atmosphere receive positive remarks, some guests are less impressed with the dim lighting and early bar closures. Opinions on value for money are mixed, as the cost of services like breakfast and the shortage of in-room amenities leave several travelers wanting more. Room experiences vary, with praise for their size and cleanliness but criticism regarding ventilation and noise. Service quality also appears to be hit or miss, with reports of both friendly and unaccommodating staff encounters.

Well located behind the Belfry tower. Walkable to most sites. Getting to the hotel was ridiculously difficult. All the streets are either one way or no access so we drove in circles for about 40 min before we found our way. The staff was somewhat aloof, but efficient. Rooms were clean but rather small (barely room for 1 med luggage) and the bed not very comfortable. No coffeepot in room. Street noise below, possibly quieter on the back side of the property. If you only require a very basic room with a good location this would suffice.

A great hotel in a fantastic location. Rooms are very clean but I scored down for 2 reasons 1. No tea/coffee making facilities in room 2. The room we stayed in was SO hot Even with radiators off there was under floor heating it was uncomfortable. The windows were pretty small so that didn’t help either. Breakfast is €20 and ok hot and continental. Bar opens at 5pm and is shut Sundays and Mondays I would recommend and would return 💕

Dear JoanneF1976, We are very pleased to read that you had a great stay with us. Regarding the heat in the room: the strange thing is that we do not have underfloor heating. In order to provide 199 rooms with hot water, our boilers have to reach a high temperature and that of course passes through the sanitary pipes everywhere... The windows are not the same size everywhere, but the air conditioning can be set up. sorry for the inconvenience you experienced. Kind regards,

Extremely comfortable accommodation, clean and warm. No noise from the lifts or other guests. Pleasant staff and the breakfast was top class, quality food and a wide range to chose from, large dining area that was again comfortable and clean. I would recommend and return again, reasonably priced top value for money.

Excellent location just off the main square meaning everything was within walking distance. Rooms were spacious and clean and beds were comfortable. Breakfast had a very good selection of continental and some hot items.

Wonderful location within the Olde City and across from the Belfry. Having a car is a liability in Brugge so think twice if you need one, but the hotel offers paid parking. Hotel staff were very nice and offer luggage storage for early arrivals. Room was tight but clean. Wifi is limited to the first few devices so if everyone tries to get on wifi, you will be out of luck. Bathtub shower was oddly placed so that shower was narrow, slippery with no bath mat. The glass covered half of the tub and it swings outward so it is easy to leak water on the floor. Paid breakfast is offered which is nice since most stores don't open until 10 AM. We would stay here again.

I would throughly recommend this hotel, just for the location alone. It has an underground car park so very convenient. Now the things to be aware of; it's a real pain to get to due to one way systems, road closures and no entry signs that need to be ignored to get in AND out of the city; the hotel has underfloor heating so the rooms are far too warm so, get that window open to get some air in your room and store the local chocolate anywhere but in your hotel room. The rooms are very basic and you don't have any tea or coffee making facilities so, be prepared to pay over the odds downstairs.

Certainly worth more than 3.5 stars. Only down point; price per m² of the room. Breakfast is good, nothing special here, the little night shop is a good idea. Though the room was small, it was convenient and very clean, as was the bathroom.

I’ve just returned from spending Christmas in Bruges, staying at this hotel, I read some of the reviews before my trip, a few of them mentioned the reception staff being unwelcoming and rude, I didn’t find this the case at all. On my arrival, which was earlier than the stated check in time, I was greeted politely and told that the room was ready and I could check in straight away. The room was small but clean, and modern throughout, as I was travelling alone this wasn’t a problem, the room was cleaned every day. The breakfast was very good, with everything you could expect available and regularly replenished. The hotel was modern throughout, with a small self-service shop in the lobby, the bar was open in the evening whilst I was there and the service good. The location of the hotel is great, just behind the main square, and the Christmas market. My experience at this hotel and Bruges was very good, and would recommend it for a few days in Bruges.

The second time i've stayed in this hotel, and can't fault it From check in to check out, it's a wonderful hotel right in the centre of town, a 10 - 15 minute walk from the station or main underground car park. The perfect location for exploring Bruges. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable and the breakfast is amazing. If you're looking for somewhere to stay in Bruges - stay here! Would I stay again? Definately!

Staff were very pleasant and the location was great. However there was no kettle in the room and after breakfast you could not buy a coffee in the hotel until the evening when the bar opened! Our room 001 was so hot, we adjusted the radiator and turned the air con to as low as it would go which was 18, it appeared to have under floor heating and there were big hot pipes running through the corners of the room. Ended up having the windows open, which being ground floor didn’t leave much privacy. The lighting in the room was not great for putting contact lenses in or doing makeup. Just a note to other guests, there is a supermarket at the end of the road which is cheaper to buy drinks etc than from the little shop in reception.
