Thank you for the warm welcome (Elizabeth!) and luxurious stay experience (everyone)! Every staff person I encountered was friendly and asked to be assured that there was nothing more I needed. To be treated like a friend or family member, even an honored guest, is rare these days. Throughout my many years of travels, the best I’ve encountered is ‘polite professionalism’; that is, the staff are responsive, but clearly, not truly interested. So, to be always greeted with a smile and genuine eye contact, leaves me with a deep yearning to return to see my old friends once again. I will be back - maybe as soon as Spring 2023 with my mother in tow. And I will book directly. Thank you as well for your exquisite attention to detail. It has left an impression that you’ve wanted to do everything possible to appreciate and pamper me. What lovely feeling! When Elizabeth gave me a tour of the room, my eyes filled with tears. I know, who does that say more about, you or me? Probably, you! The dinner I experienced at Le Mystic was unbelievable! I’m not sure what I was expecting, but any expectation, however lofty, would have been blown away! The food, was beyond delicious and beautifully presented. The service was spectacular; again, warm and friendly and luxurious. Eye contact, a smile, an interest in listening, a deep desire to please, cannot be underrated. As a frequent single diner, I know how one can be marginalized and forgotten. Not so with you folks. On the contrary, I was served attentively and made to feel as though I was among long time friends. I also had a massage that refreshed and renewed me after so many days of travel. The masseuse, likewise, seemed to care about my experience. She was lovely and warm. The only thing I’d mention is that I scheduled 75 minutes and received 60. I don’t think an additional 15 minutes would have resulted in me being more relaxed, however, and I suspect the difference in requested and received time was merely an oversight, nothing more. So, as I prepare for my departure I want to praise you for one more thing; how I appreciate that your check out time does not rush me out. Traveling is taxing and causes a good bit of anxiety, so to have the time to leisurely address the business of packing up and preparing for the long day ahead is a final gesture from you, that you enjoyed my stay as much as I did. Thank you for that. I will be down in an hour or so, to enjoy a final meal with my new family and to bid you farewell for now.

Dear Mrs Rojas, Waw, thank you soo much for your unbelievable review. We are without words of apprciation. We are soo happy you througly enjoyed your stay with us and that you had a unique experience. I investigated your remark about the massage and there was probably a miscommunication as you ordered a massage of 50 min and you paid also a massage of 50 min, cfr you invoice we have send to you via email. If you don't have your invoice anymore, please feel free to ask us a copy and we will be happy to send it again. Our apologies if certain details were not clear. We hope to welcome you soon again when visiting our magical Bruges again. Johan Creytens Owner & General manager

Bruges is beautiful and this hotel is great. Breakfast is incredible. The front desk will give you great walking trails. It’s a beautiful place. Most hotel restaurants are good. This one is great. The waiters have wonderful recommendations and you’ll love Bruges.

Thank you very much for having taken the time to review your stay with us. So nice to read you enjoyed our walking trails, we definitely recommend to do them as the views are magnificent. Very happy you also enjoyed the culinary delights from the Chef in our restaurant Le Mystique. Indeed it is a nice experience, but always necessary to book a head as the restaurant has limited places. See you soon again with us. Regards Johan Creytens Owner & General manager

Our experience is what Relais & Chateau strives for. The hospitality of the owners and the staff was unmatched. They are anxious to provide sightseeing suggestions and help in anyway possible. They relish in describing the refurbishment, which, by the way, was exceptional, of this older building. The rooms are very well pointed. The location of the hotel could not be better. It is around the block from the main Square which is a central point. We should also mention the quality of the breakfast. They were simply exceptional. Not just the food but the hospitality of the staff. The Heritage is a must stay and Bruges is a must visit.

The small size of the room was the only reason I had to drop a star here. The standard rooms are very small. Even more so than a standard hotel room at a chain hotel. They are extremely well equipped. The service at the hotel is excellent and the location is truly wonderful. There is a launderette just close by and you are within 2 minute walk to the city square. Just an amazing location! Wonderful fruit and water when we arrived and excellent steam room and sauna which is free for guests with an appt.

We stayed again at the Hotel Heritage which is a Relais & Chateaux property in Brugge. It is perfectly located just a block off the Main Market Square. We could pretty much walk anywhere we wanted to go. The Hotel is a bit worse for wear thanks to the perils of Covid but the service and comfort are still first rate. Highly Recommended.

This hotel, it’s rooms, staff and location are PERFECT. It was a joy to stay in this hotel and we will be back. Friendly, helpful staff and the rooms are generous size. Located right around the corner from the Belfry/main square. This hotel lives up to its 5-star name and you will not regret staying here!

Be very careful! This is a lovely property, but our experience was one of the worst we have ever had travelling - and we travel a lot. In making our reservation, at one point we needed to modify the reservation. We received a confirmation of the modification. When we arrived to check in, the hotel insisted we had reserved 2 rooms, which we had not, and they proceeded to charge us for 2 rooms. I was quite surprised at the brusque manner of the manager when we tried speaking withy him, and he literally bullied my wife when she spoke to him. In his unpleasant rant, he mentioned that after all, they had not raised their rates when utilities had become so expensive. We were made so uncomfortable that we checked out and found a wonderful more moderately priced hotel. Be very careful with this place!

I experienced several issues with the Hotel Heritage from prepaid prices which were not honored to a room which had not been properly maintained and cleaned. My room also felt very cramped as it was cluttered with items that management was offering for sale. When I attempted to address these issues, management was unsympathetic and appeared annoyed that I would waste their time. It was clear that their top priority was increasing their profitability and not with maintaining the satisfaction of their customers. If you are looking for a friendly place to stay in Bruges, where the management genuinely cares about the quality of your stay, I suggest you look elsewhere.

It’s unfortunate when a charming-looking place in a beautiful city does not afford the culture or customer service to match. As someone in the field, I value the challenges of the customer-service industry a great deal. With that said, when you are staying at what is billed as a five-star hotel you expect a level of both accommodations and customer service that aligns. This hotel was one of five my husband and I stayed in during our recent trip all of which I give the highest praise except for this one. This hotel should not qualify as five star or even four star. I will start by saying that the hotel employs a super lovely, hard-working, very young staff. As a whole, however, this team, while certainly trying their best, needs a supervisor onsite full time with a greater deal of experience to ensure a level of service is being delivered that aligns with the clientele being served. I witnessed this with other customers in addition to ourselves. (And some members of this team were working 14+ hour shifts!) Additionally, as many have mentioned in this property’s reviews, the rooms are very small, and we had one of the larger ones. But all of that could be overlooked if not for the culture of the hotel management which I would define as very frugal, inflexible, uncaring and rude if I’m being kind. And I’m being very kind. One can feel the frugality in the room amenities and approach. But the worst part of our stay was an unfortunate incident where while guests of the hotel I (by myself) was put in a potentially dangerous situation with a car they called for me to take me to a location they directed me to and they took no ownership or more important concern for what ensued. I was scared by the incident and remain outraged by the lack of empathy the hotel management showed me/us as their guests — as I imagine anyone in my situation would be. I attempted to discuss the issue and my feelings with the management and, had the conversation been handled professionally or even just kindly, I would not be writing this review despite the many other basic negatives about the place that I have shared above. However, since there was no support or help or token gesture, it’s good for those considering a stay here to realize what they may experience from a culture standpoint. While our issue was not related to cancellations with no refunds as I have seen in many of the negative reviews, I can relate to the frustrations and sentiments those reviewers shared. In short, we were not treated as valued customers. My attempt at resolving the conflict with the manager was met with his stated sentiments that we were just one of 6,000 guests he deals with annually. Outrageous. Finally, with tears stinging my eyes from how I felt, we got into a taxi after checking out where this manager told the driver, in Flemish, that we were “difficult” presuming we wouldn’t understand what he had just said. Even the taxi driver was appalled. There are many other very nice choices in beautiful Bruges.

The Relais & Chateaux is an excellent hotel and the location is fantastic being only a short block and a 1/2 from the Market Square (the Main square). It is close to hundreds of shops and restaurants, museums and other sights. The hotel itself is quaint and comfortable, but yet modern in its facilities. I was very happy with my room, it looked out onto the street. A complimentary tray of fruit was appreciated after a long traveling day. I did not eat the buffet breakfast, but did have breakfast a la carte in the bar area. The Belgian waffle I had was the best waffle I have ever had. It was small, but so incredibly tasty. Decandently I put whipped cream on it! The desk personnel and wait staff were kind and helpful. There is a personal touch to this hotel and you will feel welcomed.
