We paid for 1 night as an emergency stop over as driving to turkey. The price stated €67 for 1 night 2 people 2 dogs on site parking. We booked this hotel a 1 hour before we stayed over so got a deal. When we went to check in they charged us an extra €20 per dog and €16 for parking. Not much variety of food o ly 4 items. They only had 1 vol eu vent with chicken and mushroom and meatballs and it was a microwave meal for €18 I had a pizza but was nice. They had no fries. As we got in to our rooms I had a shower and couldn't find a towel to dry myself. I had to dry using tissue and a hair dryer. The staff was nice and the cleanliness was good but just seemed to be well over charging for what they was.no kettle in the room either. The beds was very comfortable but very overpriced and not clear about charging for pets. I would not stay here again personally with animals.…
Fantastic location!! and a great breakfast that was very good with many good alternative bread and fresh juices ect. The room was very spacious. Staff at the reception were very friendly and helpful. The only Downsides were the cleaning in the room (not good ) and one of the barman ( does not khow how to do cocktails)
Reading some of the reviews I think we were lucky with the time of year - there are fewer students about at the moment meaning we were not too disturbed by exterior noise. We arrived around 12 and found our room was already available which was handy. Check in was swift and polite and we were made aware of the location of breakfast etc. Our room was on the first floor, was of a reasonable size (the bed was huge) and the bathroom was well appointed. The shower was hot & powerful. Breakfast had something for everyone, including some good eco initiatives - like little ice cream cone pots instead of plastic for butter, jam etc. You just decanted what you wanted into a little pot. Similarly yoghurt & fruit salad was also plastic free. Small things I know, but they all help. Another good eco move was the ability to swap daily housekeeping for a drink at the bar. A great initiative.…
Came with a friend to Leuven for the Rock Werchter festival the town over - and Leuven did not disappoint and neither did the hotel! Very friendly staff and nice atmosphere :) The free drinks for not needing house keeping is a really nice touch, especially for broke students at a festival ;) Great location in the heart of the city, with loads of great restaurants just around the corner. Definitely reccomend!
Very poor customer service. Personnel not friendly. Overrated hotel. I would not recommend people to stay here. Look further for a hotel that makes people stay welcome and want them to have a good trip instead. I’ll book a different hotel next time.
This hotel is fun! If you don't mind the noise from partying students, then it is a great little hotel in a super location. I am in a wheelchair so some accessibility issues. There isn't an accessible room but they did upgrade me to a bigger room which was nice. The bathroom is too small to get a wheelchair into and shut the door, but if you don't mind showering with the door open, that's ok. The shower is a walk in shower, so some safety bars would make it better for less-abled users. The breakfast area is a bit small for wheelchairs to comfortably maneuver around a buffet area, but with help is ok. However, the staff were helpful. Oh, one last thing, there was only 1 USB charger in my room and it was broken. My colleague has the same issue!!
Location is great and the hotel itself is fine. Problem is it's right by some student party location - to nearly 03:00 on a Monday and 04:00 on a Tuesday (made us wonder what Friday is like). Reception is undermanned also - often one person to run the "Pentalounge" (bar/cafe) and Reception. Our booking was not recorded correctly. Reception at Reception could be a lot warmer. Will not stay there again, and would not recommend.
Right in the middle of city center. Good service, nice rooms, good breakfast, good price. I found the bar and breakfast area smaller than expected. They offer paid parking - be informed that the parking garage is very cramped. Narrow driveway, small spaces. Perhaps this is to be expected in the middle of a city center, but if you have large car and don't like small garages, you may make a different choice.
Great place to stay in a city like Leuven. Close to the center of the city. Easy access to any place you want to go for lunch dinner or coffee. Really hundreds of choices. Rooms are clean and well heated service is well acceptable and breakfast is good.
We have stayed several times before at the Penta Hotel Leuven and have always enjoyed it. Sadly this time we did not have such a good experience. It began with a member of staff who clearly does not belong in the service or hospitality industry as he had a really bad attitude. We booked the hotel on the basis of there being a free, albeit basic, breakfast being delivered to the room, I assume as a way to mange these crazy times of pandemic. However, the staff member at check in told me there was no such offer. I showed him clearly and he said it was wrong. I told him it was on Penta's own website and asked him to take a look but still he argued. The next few minutes of conversation did not go well and I had to walk away not knowing what would happen as he was insistent that I was wrong and he was right. Having just checked the offer is still right there, on their very own website. Very poor service from this chap. Well, we did get our breakfast and, upon mentioning it on check out, received an apology and had the parking fee waived in recognition of this and the next few issues I will mention in a moment. This was by a completely different member of staff who was quite professional in her approach which was appreciated. To be fair I would have preferred to pay in full and receive the service I should have rather than spend my precious little time away from work being stressed out by rude staff. The other issues: the room was not terribly clean. There were hairs on the bed and door handle and the post-cleaning room seal that is mentioned on the Penta website (similar to the way Hilton hotels seal their rooms) was not there. This does not inspire confidence. The gloves and handgel pack that was again mentioned on the Penta Hotels website did not appear. These are things that make a guest feel safe to book but, if they have stopped doing any of the above, it should not be on the website so guests can make a more informed choice. Lastly, we booked a Junior suite. The bedsheet had a fairly large hole, about the size of a euro coin in the middle between the pillows, definitely noticeable if you are making the bed up. I have never booked a suite anywhere and had that. We discovered it late and decided to just sleep rather than wait around. Overall it seems standards have slipped. Several things offered did not happen or had to be argued about. Such a shame as we did love this hotel. Maybe we will try again one day. I do hope they get back to where they were last year.…
