The Art Deco Villa built in 1928 offers a nice variety of rooms with ensuite bathroom. Located in a very destinctive aera called the 'Milionaires Quarter' the hotel is half an hour walking from the medieval centre. Trams and busses can take you there in 10 minutes. Also the biggest parc and museums are at 10 min walking. The private sauna and pool are a big plus to your stay and will make your visit even better.

Detailed Reviews
We spent two weeks in Ghent at this nice, comfortable little hotel in Feb/March 2021, so my wife could have hip surgery at a nearby hospital. We would have happily stayed longer! We had a very spacious "art deco" room on an upper floor with king bed and a large bathroom. Most noteworthy are the friendly, helpful staff - they were all wonderful and by our 2nd week we felt like family. I liked being able to open a window for fresh air at night, and as a bonus every day we woke up to the aroma of fresh croissants baking. The included breakfast was very good but the croissants were awesome and we could have as many as our waistlines would allow! Another bonus was the indoor heated pool and exercise facility. They have bicycles for rent (cheap) and I was able to do a couple of tours of the city while my wife was in hospital - luckily the weather was unseasonably warm. Ghent itself is well worth visiting and we'll definitely be back to be proper tourists, staying of course at the Orion again.

I spent a night in Gand and I appreciated this location for a sense of tranquillity. Bar and breakfast are really good and if you asked high floor mansard roof you will have a huge room to relax. Parking is free and downtown is only 10 minutes far by car.

We checked in late evening. The check in was speedy and the parking is free. We stayed in a family room . When we entered the room , we were greeted with a very pungent humid smell. We went to the reception and were told that there were no other rooms available . We were advised to open the windows. The smell did become less but I believe that the room may have a damp problem. Once we decided to not let the smell bother us, it was a smooth sail. We tried walking to the town centre but it does take about 35 - 40 minutes. Thereare various eating places within 10 minutes. The free parking does help. There is a tram nearbly but if you want to reach the city centre fast then a change of tram is required fro St Pieters. We did not eat there. The reception does have a water cooler. The pool was probably the best part. Do try to book the pool in advance. I did try booking by email but did not get any response.

We booked this last minute on a room only basis. The lady on reception was very helpful and friendly and the beds were very comfortable, but that’s where the positives end.
The room itself was dated, the furniture damaged. The bathroom in particular was very poor, with a drooping curtain separating the shower cubicle and mold on the ceiling.
We paid £170 for 2 rooms, no breakfast, which we felt was poor value for money.

I stayed for a night as part of a business trip, primarily being attracted to the hot l because of the indoor swimming pool. The hotel was lovely, in a really nice area and had a really welcoming, relaxed feel.
Check in was good and the receptionist really helpful, there was a small bar and we sat in the terrace with our drinks which was really pleasant.
The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was great we made Bacon sandwiches which were really nice.
I also used the pool for an early morning swim. The pool is small, but you can reserve it for your private use which is great. There is also a sauna.
Overall this is a fantastic, privately owned, very reasonably priced boutique hotel with a lovely feel. I would recommend to anyone visiting Ghent and would love to stay again.

We had a room for 3 on ground level. There were 2 twins and one queen in the room. It was a large room and bathroom. Beds were comfortable, shower size was fine. We did not eat breakfast there instead chose places in Ghent. Parking was 5€ a day. Didn’t engage with staff very much, but very nice at Checkin and when coming/going. Kind of wish we had a place closer to the main attractions but there is a tram stop across the street and it was 2,70 per person per ride and about 25 minutes then walking to sights. The public transportation is quite nice and clean. The hotel is in a nice quiet area. Q

We really enjoyed the hotel! The reception was greeted with a smile, told everything in detail, the room was huge, comfortable, for our family was super comfortable! Parking is free, we walked half an hour very slowly to the centre. The pool is free, you book and it's just yours-- cool idea! If we go back to Ghent, only Orion. Thanks for the wonderful holiday

We used Ghent as a base for travelling around Belgium and south Netherlands.
The hotel room was spacious and clean, the staff friendly and we really enjoyed the communal balcony area on the evenings where we could have a drink and relax.
Plenty of parking spaces available which is great for Ghent. Wi-Fi available throughout hotel.
Lovely swimming pool which we used 3 times.
Tram stop just across the road and train station a 10 minute walk away.
Downside, there wasn’t Air Con in our room but we had 2 fans. We had to keep the windows open as it was so hot without Air Con so got plenty of insect bites.

This was such a pleasant surprise! Room 14 is fabulous, huge and very nicely furnished, sooo pleasant. Great bathroom and great bed.
The gym in this hotel is wonderful, wonderful service, what can I say, it’s just a beautiful hotel.
It is not central though, if this is what you are looking for, however the tram station is very near, and you can rent a pair of bike for 9 euros a day.

Everything was perfect ! Great location (next to a tram and parking on site available), super friendly staff, great breakfast buffet, super comfy bed, Air conditioning in every room, a beautiful view on the terrace, the swimming pool was fantastic. We can see that they do everything to satisfy us. We also heard that they will renovate the swimming pool soon with a new wellness equipment. We can’t wait to go back again ! We absolutely recommend it !

Hello, thank you for your intrest!
The pool is available for free most of the time, only if you want to book it privately with sauna, it costs 5€ per half an hour.
Kind regards,
Gerald
I don't recall a pool since I went in the Spring and it was quite cold. You might want to ask the hotel staff. The hotel is not in the city centre, but there's a tram that you can take and it will drop you off at the city centre. The hotel is very convenient if you have a car because finding a parking spot in the city centre is quite difficult. Enjoy this beautiful city.
