Deceptive access - hidden beyond an extensive sports complex. Friendly arrival. Pitches large but rough and rugged. 50m electric hookup lead required and crosses over/around neighbouring pitches. Electric blew as soon as the kettle was switched on - unhappy, rude attendant insisted that it was our equipments' fault, we insisted that as this was out 6th campsite on the continent,... More

Excellent 2 night stay within 20 mins cycle ride of Gent city centre. Absolutely loved Gent. Campsite had very large pitches, great facilities with free strong wifi at pitch location. Great cafe, friendly staff. Also very near to leisure beach with free water slices and lake swimming. Recommendef

Have read staff not helpful! But found that couldn't have been further from the truth. Move pitch no problem, how to get to ghent centre no problem. You will need a long extention 50m, but we did not so moved pitch to accommodate, but they do have extentions and also sell in shop. Shops got the essentials. Restaurant does descent... More

Such a shame that the place is so run down. No proper staff to clean the amenities, complaining and grumpy women in the reception who seem to forget that we pay them a lot of money for staying there. Very expensive for the night. Earie feeling of the place. The typical scenario of a place that thinks there's no need... More

Blaarmeersen camping has what we needed. We spent one night in our VW California. 29€ We got a place close to bathroom/toilet. But we preferred another one, which was renovated. Cleaness average. The campside is lovely with trees, spacey places and is divided into smaller parts. But unfortunately you cannot avoid the noise from the motorway. Very helpfull staff and... More

But now sadly, litter, over grown hedges, churned up pitches, shower blocks not cleaned often enough, don't get me wrong, this place is good compared to some but awful to what it was, two years ago it was spotless, but now lacking in daily maintenance. The picture is/was a path

Lovely site with everything you could want. Restaurant, chip bar, lake/beach with outdoor gym and kids area was brilliant. Different types of pitches, we had one which was quite tucked away and very private. Down side is i never saw anyone cleaning the toilets only emptying bins. Plus they seem to have a drainage/sewerage problem as smelt alot round ladies... More

This was quite tricky to get too. Fortunately we had a good GPS and it took us right there otherwise if we had followed the campground instructions I am not sure we would have found it. It is set in a recreation centre and we were told reception staff were available until 9:30pm. It can be very disconcerting to arrive... More

We visited Camping Blaarmeersen in April 2016. The receptionist was very welcoming and gave us more information about bus routes to the city. The campsite is very clean with plenty of facilities (launderette, showers, dishwashing with hot water, etc.) the ladies area was very warm, heating was on (although they switch off the lights in the evening so bring a... When we planned to drive into Belgium, we decided early on we would not camp in Brussels for the following reasons; we were right in the middle of summer and the traffic in the city was horrible we’ve been to Brussels before, it’s a small city and wanted to explore the surrounding cities this time. So we drove from Breda,... More
