We spent two nights at this delightful B & B with a wonderful host, Jerone. The bedroom was modern, clean and presented really well, great amenities and a great breakfast 😀😀Close to the centre and tram right outside or a 20 minute easy walk. Definitely recommended for a visit to Ghent 😀😀👍

We chose Entrenous as our base during a 5 day trip to Belgium. Location perfect, in between the Central Station (easy access to other cities as Brugges and Brussels) and the center of the stunning city of Ghent. Great decision. The place is amazing, with special care to details: the design, the furniture, the artisanal breakfast. And of course, the wonderful attention we received from Christine and Jeroen. Thanks for your hospitality!

Gent is the perfect City to visit. It is lovely, filled with spectacular old buildings, not too big, and not at all overrun with tourists. Entrenous has an excellent location. It is between the center and the train station and only one block from the Number 1 tram, which easily takes you to both. Christine and her son Jeroen provided excellent service, good breakfasts and a very clean B & B. Christine twice recommended Gent's new public library, and right she was. It is a great piece of modern architecture, demonstrating that Gent can create a library for all that fosters learning and community.

The hosts were friendly and helpful. The breakfast offered a good range of options, and coffee is available all day. The whole place is spotlessly clean, and quiet. I liked the fact that it is walking distance from both the train station (one direction) and the centre (the other). It is possible to bring take-out food to eat in the dining area, which can be a good way to save money.

First, the basics: Entrenous is located within easy walking distance of Gent St Pieters railway station. This does put it a rather long walk to the town center, but it’s doable. If you don’t want to walk, there is a tram station around the corner; buy a Ghent Card and you can ride for free (along with other benefits). The B&B is run by Christine and her son Jeron—both friendly, helpful, and willing to have conversations with you. There is no elevator, and this is a vertical townhouse, with several flights of stairs. The décor is modern and simple. The room is reasonably spacious, with enough storage space. One odd point is that the closet rail is set very high. I am over six feet, and I had to reach up to hang clothes. My wife had to have me help her. The toilet is in a separate compartment from the shower and wash stand (all en suite, of course). There are two unused electric outlets in the bed area and a couple more in the bathroom if you need to charge a lot of gadgets. There is a minibar stocked with water, wine, local beer, and a few snacks (extra charge). Not much of a view—just neighborhood backyards. The heating/cooling and plumbing all work well. There is WiFi. The breakfast buffet is small, but it contains about everything you would expect. In addition, Christine or Jeron will cook you bacon and eggs to order. Now for the special part: On the evening before we were to check out, my wife fell ill and was taken to the hospital. It turned out not to be too serious, but we learned that only later. The next morning, I appeared at breakfast and asked Jeron to help me find another place to stay for what might be a few days or even longer. He listened to me carefully and then offered to put me in a room that they keep for emergencies. He even carried our luggage up to the top floor for me. Then he worked out the best bus route to the hospital and showed me how to use the system. This greatly reduced my stress level and meant that I was able to spend time with wife instead of moving our things across town to a hotel. As it turned out, she was in the hospital another day and a half. I/we thus spent another two days at the B&B before flying home. I am very grateful for their kindness and assistance.
