. I was going to do some IT job in Mont Legia on the 9th of November 2022. I reserved a room on the 8th in this Campanile because it’s is in the vicinity of Mont legia. When I arrived on site the 8th November at 8 in the evening , I was summoned in the most unfriendly way by the gentleman at the desk to pay before I got the keys. “Because nowadays before are less trustworthy and some time leave without paying ”; I have been in dozens of Campanile but never had such a bad experience. I was like god, did you realize that you have my Visa card in your database? Up on seeing op the gentleman insisting, I politely asked to cancel my reservation. Then he said there is going to be some penalty to be paid with your visa. I said bravoo. Nice to know you have access to my visa; feel free to do it but I am going to spend my evening writing some reviews. I am now at the Ibis in Liege- Guillemins, very nice looking place; Some people truly have no business facing customers.

We stayed here in liege for the Belgian Grand Prix. I was away at the track most days and did not spend much time in the main hotel area except for breakfast and the occasional drink in the evening. The hotel was located in the outskirts of liege next to a major road about a 30 minute walk from the main train station or approximately at €10 taxi. being in room 33 which is the closest to the road I had no issues with getting to sleep. If your a light sleeper a pair of noise cancelling ear buds would be a good fix. The room was moderately sized and featured everything I would need. The only thing possibly missing was a mini fridge to keep things cool. The dining area was a little bland. They offered a buffet style European breakfast with fresh fruit, breads and yogurts. The bar was sparse but for a small hotel it was more than enough. They offered a selection of Belgian beer on draft and bottle along with a standard spirit selection. The staff were friendly even if some had poor English. They were able to organise taxis to and from the hotel when I arrived and later when checking out.

Staff seemed a bit disorganised. Key card didn't work, had to get staff member to open door each time. Walls very thin, could hear noisy neighbours and plumbing. Only one of the 2 bathroom lights worked Breakfast was OK, but buffet somewhat depleted by the time we arrived.

Hotel needs an update, new carpets and a lick of paint. However I would say it has everything you need for a comfortable nights sleep. Maybe bring your own fan in the hotter months as no air conditioning. The staff are what make this hotel. All are friendly and very helpful. I would like to say a big thank you to Lorena for making our stay an extra pleasant one. I’ve never seen someone work so hard, whilst enjoying her job.

The Campanile Liege is very typical of the Campanile franchise. It is a suitable distance from the Channel crossings for an easy journey with a contingency for traffic or crossing delays, and i have stayed there several times in the past, including last year. The accommodation, facilities and food are well up to best Campanile standards and meet all my requirements for an overnight stay. It is easily accessible from motorways, although a very complex junction has to be navigated, and satnavs tend to route through centre of Liege for journeys eastwards and that involves slow traffic and diversions for roadworks.

Close to motorway but in a quiet area. Nicely appointed rooms for an overnight stay. Good restaurant for dinner and breakfast. TV gets BBC1 and the staff speak English! Plenty of parking but not secure. Ten minute walk into city centre but twenty minutes back as the hill is steep!!

Thesurrounding is very noisy. During my stay two bicycle teams where also in the hotel with their trucks, leading no parking space anymore. The food in the restaurant in the evening is not tasty, especially the plat du jour was not ok. Breakfast is ok. There is also a problem with the ventilatie in the rooms.

Stayed three nights. We had breakfast there the first morning, but it was bad enough that we skipped it the remaining mornings. – Only has sheer, translucent curtains. We could see into any room from the parking lot if they had their lights on. – Easy and free parking. – Mattress was okay for a budget hotel. – Again, anyone could see us at night.

Convenience of location meant that traffic noise was a problem, add in the non functioning air conditioning and the bathroom heater turning on and off for no reason - on a very hot night - meant we either were stifled or couldn't sleep due to road noise! We sought the help of a member of staff who could not fix the problems and the hotel was apparently full (so no room swap). We paid Eu128 for B&B and paid extra for dinner; this was an experience we do not wish to repeat and we would find it difficult to justify staying at any Campanile hotel again if this is the depth to which the brand has descended. Previous to this, our Campanile experiences in France had been good.

The hotel was typical campanile clean and tidy with a helpful staff even printed off a map so we could walk into town easier. It was straight forward to find which was a joy as we had driven from Brussels which had been a nightmare. The town center is a 15-20 minute walk which is downhill on the way out but uphill (and steep in places) on the way back. The town itself was a pleasant surprise. The room comes with a kettle (but paper cups) so don't forget your tea cups and there's a restaurant attached to the hotel but we did not dine there. We put down excellent for sleep quality but in reality you either have a good night sleep or you don't simple really. A good stay in a good hotel with good staff and got at a good price.
