Resolutely open to the city, full of history and emotion, the "Van der Valk Sélys Liège" is a mixture of unusual locations with different atmospheres, each run with intelligence and creativity. It is from this very multiplicity that the UrbanResort(R) concept originates, being a subtle combination of aesthetics, inventiveness, comfort and relaxation: a resolutely non-exclusive, exclusive product. With a great number of places to visit, leisure and relaxation activities (such as the 750-m² garden, a haven of peace and greenness in the middle of the complex), the hotel has eight main premises. Each of them alone is an unusual place, charged with an original atmosphere. All are worth the trip and are, in their great majority, open to non-residents. Welcome, attention, service, professionalism are bywords for the staff, whose sole aim is to make sure that the time you spend in these places is as enjoyable as possible.

Stay in this beautiful hotel for a day. First impressions was “ a wow”. It’s beautiful hotel. After a day sight seeing around the city, we decided to have a drink before go to the room. We were welcomed by a man ( short/bold) with a tie. Since he is the only guy wearing a tie so I assumed he is the boss ( restaurant manager). We walked toward him and asking whether we could still have a drink somewhere. And he said that we can have a drink at the rooftop restaurant or small space here near the restaurant /lobby. Unfortunately the staff at rooftop restaurant didn’t welcome us to just have a drink. So we walked to another this small space near the restaurant. Finally we sat and started to have a look the menu. And this “ manager” came and assist us. Everything went just ok. The only part that made me a bit surprised just his attitude when we want to settle the bill to the room. He don’t believe that we are guest in house. After we signed the bill he didnt even say thanks and good evening to us. But he did to the other guest except us. He is just walk away. Seems like we are look less than other guest. My self working in a big 5 star hotel. Much bigger and exclusive than this hotel. So I know how to serve people nicely.

We stayed for one night at this hotel using a gastronomic dinner package (with dinner being served in the room): hotel is quite nice with spacious rooms , nice terrace( which we could not enjoy because of corona restrictions) and a well equipped spa with indoor swimming pool. Hotel is very comfortable with friendly staff ; however do not expect exclusive gastronomy at this place : food is ok but not exquisite.

Just back from our first overnight stay this year. We went to Liege and stayed in hotel Sélys. It was a fabulous experience. Everything was arranged to perfection. Spacious agreeable room with every comfort. Bathroom with all toiletries possible. Slippers and bath gown available. So I had my first swim this year in the indoor swimming pool. Room service for dinner was OK and the breakfast with self service was gordious. The buffet was full with all possible delicacies. The staff was very attentive. So this stay was very relaxing in these difficult pandemic times. On top we enjoyed a beautiful walk upon the Citadel where nature was in spring blossoms.

We stayed for a weekend in February 2021 and was much busier than expected - took 30 minutes to check-in as reception was very busy. The breakfast was FAB - all cheeses, fresh orange juice, champagne, pastries, hot food, fresh fruit, eggs... You can go back as many times as needed. But during COVID, you have to take it upstairs and often have to queue for the elevator with your tray of food. Cannot be helped though! The staff were all very kind. Only issue is that our hotel room smelt of cigarettes SO much. We called the front desk twice and they then offered us another room, but we had plans and couldn't move all our packing over. The smell did not go away for the whole weekend. We asked the cleaners to change the sheets to help with the smell but they did not. Our friends in another room had the exact same problem. Bathroom is very nice and has heated floor. Good location. Swimming pool is open but maximum of 6 people. You don't book a slot, you just turn up and wait your turn. The spa was closed but it looked very nice. There is a small carpark outside the hotel for about 10 cars, but it was full. There's another car park down the road (100m) for 16 euros per 24 hours. We didn't know about the free hotel parking until after checking in.

Dear Customer, Thank you for your evaluation. We are really sorry for the cigarette smells that probably came from a neighbouring room when it is forbidden to smoke in the rooms. The sanitary measures put us in sometimes uncomfortable situations but we are coping with them as best we can. Having said that, we hope you enjoyed your stay and we will be happy to welcome you on a future occasion. Yours sincerely, The management team

Reception was very busy but efficient, friendly staff and lovely looking hotel. We stayed in the Selys Suite, this is large, very clean and with a comfortable bed. However we had no hot water in the evening, broken bath plug.several lights not working and the small bathroom mirror is over the toilet?? Ordered two meals, meatballs that were great and Chicken Caesars Salad, this had to be sent back as it contained raw chicken. We decided not to replace with something else as it was already too late, also there were no condiments and only one set of cutlery.
