This hotel is a small, quiet lodge set high in the hills near the Poas Volcano. It is nicely furnished with lots of wood throughout the hotel. We had a large room with a balcony overlooking the grounds and surrounding countryside. There are two walking trails in the countryside around the hotel, and you can borrow rubber boots and a stick if you want. There is a bar and restaurant, and a good free wi-fi signal throughout the hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The Lodge is a beautiful hotel in the area of the Volcano, Coffee plantation & LaPaz waterfalls. Gorgeous views in every room and lots of quiet areas to sit and take in the views. Bird watching and the flower gardens were so wonderful. Loved our stay!

Our room was gorgeous; just as pictured. It even had a private patio outside the room that we weren't expecting. At night, they turned down our beds, left a few chocolate covered coffee beans on our pillows and we were surprised to discover hot water bottles in our beds. The staff was so polite and helpful. The trails around the property were well maintained. The greenhouse was adorable and we wish we had time to take our coffee out there to just sit and relax. The restaurant was nice and the food was good (not great, but good). The staff was able to arrange a transport for us to and from the Peace Waterfall Garden. The only minor cons that I'd note are that the floors everywhere were extremely slippery, which I found very surprising in a country (and an area of the country) that gets so much rain; and the basement which housed the pool table, games and TV room had a very pronounced mildew smell. I was fine, but I could envision someone with asthma having a problem. But everything else was perfect.
