I really enjoyed my stay. Hotel with lovely ambience & positive spirit - high quality service indeed. I'd like to add that hotel has a great location close to the main landmarks of the city. I especially liked my room with roof window and breakfast with some typical Belgian spread.

The breakfast staff was hard working and friendly. The breakfast was delightful. We had a clean modest room with a window that opened for ventilation (summer heat) and a bit of sharing of evening road noises. Sophie was very helpful suggesting interesting places to eat and even shared a recipe for a breakfast treat. Checking in can be a bit cumbersome...plan ahead.

So small, that it may be hard to find, an old building restorated, wall instalation is poor, could be problematic for those looking for some privacy. Some people may need more place, stairs are very steep and can be hard to climb and dangerous for the elderly, breakfast and , staff is nice and helpfull

We stayed at happy guest house as a couple for 2 nights this week. When we arrived the access details given by email were easy to understand and we got our key and made it to our room. We were sharing a big suitcase and I didn’t see anywhere on their website a mention of the steep narrow spiral stairs. We stayed in room 3 and there are about 50 stairs to get there which are tricky to manoeuvre a suitcase up. Also very tiering each day- we dreaded them! If you are disabled I would not recommend these stairs. We went down for breakfast both days and the staff were super friendly and breakfast was really nice! Local jams, home made chocolate spread , local cheese , croissants and eggs. I could not fault it at all! They even took the time to talk to us about where the food had come from. The room itself was very clean and simple in a good way. Only negative about the room is there was no where to store suitcase so that did get in the way a little and also the bathroom was very small. The location was very central and once out the front door you are in walking distance of many pubs/restaurants and the train station which is very convenient. The only negative regarding location was down stairs there is a shop called dripper store and both nights there they were hosting a pop up shop. I don’t really know what it was for but about 100 people each night gathered there and were all drinking , one night from 6pm- 2am. They were making a lot of noise and we had to walk though them to get to the entrance to our accommodation. Also even though we were 3 floors up it was very noisy. I know this is no fault or happy guest house at all but was a shame for us as both nights we didn’t sleep that well. Lastly I think it would be nice to have a fan in each room as no AC and If the window is left open the noise from outside does make it hard to sleep again. When we visited it was between 20-26 degrees and it did get hot in the rooms.

Room Tip: Stairs are very narrow and spiral. I would ask for room one to avoid too many.

Close to the grand markt, this is a good guest house with 4 rooms. The rooms are nicely decorated, the breakfast is good and the owner, Sophie is very nice. The only warning is if you have problems with walking or have heavy luggages, you me be in trouble as there is no lift.

My wife and I stayed here one night at the end of our late summer vacation. The place is very well-located, close to restaurants, the grand plaza, museums and transit, and our room was spacious enough for the 2 of us, well-lit and clean (in a minimal way). All the basic amenities are there, and the lobby has a good assortment of books and games for reference and entertainment. In the morning, the continental breakfast was SO DELICIOUS! Baked goods, yogurt, cheeses, fruits and other Belgian specialties. What a treat before getting on our plane back to the USA.

I have stayed there twice. Cosy little place, clean with good breakfast. Sophie (the owner) is Very helpful and pleasant. It’s location is a great advantage and its lack of lift a drawback especially if you carry laggage and you have to climb on a narrow stair case. The breakfast can be an issue if you have to leave for work before 08:00... but I’m sure Sophie will find a good solution for you. Good wifi but No LAN line phone in the rooms. The location is ideal. Just 5’ from the famous Grand Place and 5’ from the Brussel central train station.

This place shouldn't really be marketed as a hotel, but as an Airbnb instead (and priced accordingly). It's a very basic accommodation and overpriced for what you get. What you get is a small room missing basic amenities like * sufficient lights * shelves to store stuff (there are a few tiny ones) * shower cabin door (the water is all over the bathroom after one takes a shower) * shampoo (just some noname liquid soap on the floor that one have to kneel to fetch) * iron * place to store luggage during the day (the stuff is only there for a few hours in the morning) The washbasin is so small and inconveniently located that it's really challenging to wash one's face or brush teeth. Breakfast is a separate thing. I don’t understand why it got so much praise, as it’s pretty basic. It's not served until late, and it's really VERY basic. Only cold stuff and the choice isn't big. The good things are: location and style. Don't expect comfort or service.

We love this place because we went from friends to lovers here ☺️. Sophie is very friendly and everything is super organized! They put a cot bed for our 5 month old son ready with an extra foam. Very nice he appreciated this lots and so did we as it was our anniversary 😉. We had breakfast on the go waiting for us as we had to leave early with sweet things inside! The only tip I would suggest is that it would have been attentive to put happy anniversary card or so as it was in each communication. Defiantly recommend this outstanding and lovely place.

This is the total opposite to all av Brussels business hotels, in the most positive way. Small and quirky with only four rooms situated between Sablon and Grand Place. We stayed at the top room, a long an steep stairway but part of the charm. Light and modern room with nice bed and bathroom. Sophie the host is just as wonderful as everyone describes her. And a lovely homemade breakfast.
