It’s been a while since I gave a level five review but this hotel most certainly deserved it. Such a wonderfully furnished room with such a comfortable bed and excellent front of house staff who gave first class information and guidance to the city attractions. Great central location and not even a five-minute walk to the Grand Place. We were sorry that we had not tried their restaurant but there were so many restaurants in the mediate vicinity (we really recommend the Lobster House directly opposite) we were spoiled for choice. We chose an airline which flew to Charleroi so we opted to take the coach shuttle from the airport to Gare du Midi which takes 1 hour and 10 minutes and then took a taxi to the hotel which cost just over 11 euros. However, there is a rail link between Gare du Midi and Brussels Centraal and this Station is only a 10- minute walk to the hotel. We most certainly make a return visit to this hotel.

This hotel is right in the heart of...everything. You are surrounded by stores, bars, and cafes, and Le Grande Place is only a 5 minute walk away. Other reviewers have complained about the noise, but to me that's the price you pay for being centrally located. As other reviewers have mentioned, the street it is on has no car access, but it wasn't a problem. When the cab dropped us off we only had to walk about 1/2 block to reach the hotel. When a cab came to pick us up very early in the morning, they drove right up to the front of the hotel to get us. Best thing about this hotel was the room. It was by far the largest hotel room I've ever stayed in anywhere in Europe. The floors are wood, and the room felt like it was a nicely appointed apartment. The bathroom was the best: large shower with great water pressure, and one of the largest free standing tubs I've ever seen. Staff was really nice and helpful. Can't say enough good things about Hotel des Galeries.

This little boutique hotel is located in the most beautiful Galeries I've seen around Europe. My room had a view on the Galeries which was soo beautiful. All the staff members are very helpful, we got great recommendations to get most out of our 2-day trip. We initially planned diner in a restaurant next door but in the end, it looked more like a tourist-trap. We ended up eating at the Comptoir des Galeries, the hotel's restaurant which was delicious.
We loved Brussels, loved the hotel & restaurant and will definitely be back!

We’ve stayed in hotel two nights. The hotel has the great central location, on Rue des Bouchers street , between Saint Hubert gallery and Galerie de la Reine. We had a spacious room with view right to the gallery. The staff is very friendly, courteous and welcoming – we appreciated very mush the possibility for early check-in. The hotel owns also the chef restaurant, where we had a great culinary experience. Recommended both, hotel, and restaurant.

The hotel is located in the heart of Brussels, in the beautiful galleries royales St Hubert. The room was spacious and stylish, with high ceilings and trendy furniture. The bathroom was also big with a full bathtub and separate shower. The room had a georgous view on the gallery itself and it nevertheless was very quiet. Overall a great find in the centre of Brussels.

In short, the good things about this hotel are the size of the room and the location. Many other reviews describe these aspects well so I won't reiterate them here. I don't usually bother to write reviews, but I don't feel like the current rating reflects our experience here. Unfortunately, I wouldn't consider staying here again for several reasons.

The worst aspect was the noise. Yes, you're staying in a popular area in a dense European city so street noise is to be expected. This hotel had the worst street noise we experienced on our trip, but that isn't their fault, and again not really unexpected. The issue was with interior noise as there does not seem to be any soundproofing. I could hear full conversations in the rooms above, below, and across the hall. This was the most ridiculous interior noise in a hotel I have ever experienced and honestly was worse than most hostels I used to stay at. Because of all the noise, we barely slept the two nights we stayed at the hotel. Both nights we used high-quality earplugs but it just wasn't enough.

We had other smaller issues with the hotel but none were as awful as the interior noise level. I like firm mattresses, but this was the hardest bed I've ever experienced and was so uncomfortable. Every morning we had back/shoulder/neck pain from the bed. Our room had a lovely big freestanding bathtub and yet no robes, washcloths, or conditioner? Overall the experience was just confusing as it seemed like they were scrimping in such a way that did not match the overall design of the hotel.

This old residence, converted to a hotel at some point is tucked into a very busy and very noisy street with no vehicle access. If you book here, be prepared to drag your luggage over heavily cobblestoned streets for a few blocks. Good access to Grande Place and other tourist destinations, but our room was an awkward layout and the white towels may have been clean, but were very stained and unwelcoming, as was the carpet in the room. Be prepared to stand outside waiting to be let into the hotel when no one is at the front desk, as the front door is locked 24/7 with no guest access unless a staff member is present to let you in. Very noisy until at least 10-10:30 pm and beyond due to proximity to bars and restaurants.

The Hotel de Galeries is a unique, boutique hotel in the heart of Brussels. The customer service was amazing, the rooms were comfortable and attractive, and the breakfasts were great. It was a huge relief that after over 12 hours of traveling we arrived in Brussels and at the hotel to find that at 11:00 am our rooms were ready! It was so great to be able to freshen up after a long flight rather than having to put our bags in storage…
We’d stay again in a heartbeat.

Fantastic location, within the world famous Galleries of Brussels; a quaint, modern and certainly chic yet relaxed hotel. Couldn't have asked for better service and a more authentic experience. Staff were very professional, spoke perfect English and knew what world class hospitality is.

Great location, and wonderful to be part of the Galeries. We were on the 4th floor, with shuttered windows looking out onto the glass roof of the Galeries - so it was very quiet, and comfortable. Stylish furnishing, good breakfast, and lovely staff. It feel that they're taking some shortcuts that shouldn't be necessary at these prices. Three nespresso capsules between two..just two teabags (one green, one camomile). Some scuffing and dust. Towels oddly small and tired.

Just wondering if this hotel is near bus/train station. Also if it’s near Christmas Markets?
London, United Kingdom2 contributions4 helpful votes
Hi Anne Yes it is very near to the Gare Central, just a 5 minute walk and a 20 min walk to the Gare du midi for all international departures and arrivals (Eurostar, Thalys) There is the St Catherine Christmas market located in St Catherine place which is also 10 min walk from the hotel :) We are located in the Galeries St Hubert, home to many Christmas shopping venues and Brussel specialities! Kind regards Charlotte
