I hated this hostel, I stayed as part of a school trip and it was a nice room and very big but I found that it was very unclean and messy plus I got bitten multiple times while I was there. I don't know if it was bed bugs, fleas or mites or all of them but I've been bitten...

I've traveled rather extensively throughout Europe and have stayed in hostels in various countries, ranging in quality, but this is the worst hostel I've stayed in. I'm not quite sure where my money went because there was no internet connection in my room, no hot water, no towels and my room was not clean. I waited three hours for the...

Located on the outskirts of the centre of the city, the hostel is a few minutes' walk from the nearest metro station, 10 minutes from Gare du Nord and 15 minutes from the city centre. I was in an 8-bed female dorm and had no problems (except one sensational snorer). The room was large and airy with plenty of storage...

You have to make your own bed. Room (4 female dorm) needed painting and new ceiling, they are already refurbishing the hostel. Enough breakfast, bar open in the evening. Not far from tourists attractions - public transport. The area is very quiet (maybe too much for some travellers, but you can find shops - restaurants nearby, follow Bondstraat + rue...

I am sorry but I did not like my stay at Youth Hostel Jacques Brel! The rooms were poor, beds uncomfortable, bathroom unclean, not the best located and it was way to noisy on the bottom level! The only good thing going for them is the free internet and breakfast!

Hostel is good. Nothing so fantastic. Our bedroom had a bathroom inside. Clean. What I did not like was when I arrived there I could not get in because gate was closed...it was about 3pm. I waited about 5 minutes for some guest come out so I get in.

Good location, good breakfast, average rooms but nice bathroom. The public area could be a little better and the bar has a cool atmosphere. The only problem I can find is that the bartender was the one putting the music at night and his taste of music was a little bit too...awful for my taste! Maybe they can have the...

This hostel is, I'll admit, some distance away from the city centre; you'll either have to take the shady-looking metro, or walk maybe 20 minutes to get to Grand Place. (frankly walking is no issue at all since you tend to walk everywhere in Brussels and there's plenty to see along the way!) BUT, the awesome rooms, breakfast, and professional...

I just want to start with the fact that I do not know exactly how much I paid for the accommodation as it was a trip organised by my Sixth Form. Having said that, the trip was very cheap and the hostel delivered well for my expectations. We were greeted warmly and shown to out rooms shortly after the keys...

Great localization (near to the subway and to the two main train stations), great staff, very nice rooms (clean, cosy and spacious). The bar is also fantastic for drinks (belgium beers) or food. The WiFi was always in perfect condition. Very recommended!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The hostel is ideally located at about 10 min walking from the Brussels Main Square (Grand-Place). Nearby, you'll be able to take a picture of the Manneken-Pis. The hostel is located on the Place des Barricades, a amazing neoclassic square with typical white buildings. A really relaxing and quit place right in the centre of the capital city. From the hostel, you can easily reach the European Parliament, and if you'd rather go for food pleasures, the famous Belgian chocolate makers and local breweries are waiting for you! If you're tempted by fashion, you can easily go to the Dansaert and Saint-Géry as well as to Louise, Porte de Namur and Rue Neuve neighbourhoods. ... more   less
