Detailed Reviews
We stayed at the apartment for 5 nights. If location is important, and it should be, you can not beat this. The de Manneken Pis is literally out the front door. Three great restaurants 2 minutes away. The Grand Plaza maybe at the max 10 minutes. Room is spacious and very clean. Full kitchen. Great shower and queen bed. Ground floor good wifi and very quiet at night. Honestly it can't be beat would stay here again any time.

The apartment was clean and very comfortable, and the bathroom was bigger than most hotel rooms. Pascal was very friendly, welcoming and helpful with suggestions for walks, museums, restaurants and guide maps. First class service in a convenient area within a few minutes' walk of the Grand Palace and the Manneken Pis statue.

We enjoyed our stay. Excellent hosts. Provided a good breakfast and advice on activities, dining, and helped us with our departure. The home is historic and lovely. There are steps to your apartment on the top floor but we are mid 60s and did fine with them. A lovely renovation and nice bathroom. Conveniently located near the Manneken Pis statue and La Grand Place. A hidden gem.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon recently. We have never stayed in a guesthouse/ B&B before, so we were nervous about what to expect. However, we had an amazing time! They are centrally located so you can really walk to everything. Pascal and Akemi did an excellent job helping us to feel welcome in the home. Breakfast was delicious and they were a wonderful resource for things to do. They went above and beyond when they found out it was my husband's birthday and actually made him a cake and got champagne for us. We would highly recommend this guesthouse to anyone staying in Brussels! We cannot wait to go back one day!

We first stayed at Carmelites Guesthouse in September and when we found ourselves lucky enough to be back in Brussels in January, we didn't hesitate to stay at Carmelites again. Akemi & Pascal, our hosts, were so welcoming and went out of their way to provide an exceptional experience in their lovely city. From the warm welcome with hot tea (for me) and beer (for my husband), to the incredible breakfasts, to the chocolates, rose, and lavender bath salt waiting for us after a long cold day enjoying Brussels, to the gift of hot chocolate packets to take home with us, and finally to Pascal personally delivering us to the airport, we felt enveloped with hospitality and warmth. In addition, the guesthouse is not only beautiful, it is exceptionally located near Manneken Pis and an easy walk to Grand Place, wonderful beer cafes, restaurants, and chocolate stores. Carmelites Guesthouse provides a very special experience in a beautiful city.

This is a very good quality guest house, located within walking distance of main attractions, for example ten minutes walk to area of Grand Place.
Breakfast is good and plentiful.
Pascal, the proprietor, is an excellent and friendly host, whose local knowledge is invaluable.
Distance from Brussels Midi rail station is approx ten minutes by taxi, fare at time of visit was less than €10.00

We originally wanted to book the guesthouse but it was fully booked so we chose to stay in the adjoining apartment instead. The apartment was wonderful, very spacious with a comfortable queen size bed, nice bathroom (shower takes a bit of getting used to) with separate toilet and kitchen/eating area and sitting room. There are nice furnishings and everything is very clean. It is incredibly central, only metres from the famous Manneken Pis statue and a few minutes to the Grand Place but manages to be really quiet and peaceful. It is located on the ground floor so easy for luggage. We really enjoyed our stay. Pascal was extremely friendly, helpful and welcoming with lots of information and assistance. We will certainly return if we visit Brussels again. Highly recommended.

The guesthouse Carmelite got a really charming and helpful host ! Because of our flight delay we arrived late and hungry but not too late for Pascal. We didn't know where to go to have dinner so he walked with us to this really good restaurant. We had a great night rest. We really enjoyed his company and all the stories about Brussels during our morning breakfast.

My wife and I spent 3 nights in early July at the Carmelites Guesthouse after a Baltic Cruise. The property is on a small, quiet street within walking distance from the Central train station and all the major sights. In three days of sightseeing we never had to use a taxi or public transportation. The room was charming and appropriately furnished with a bed and antique furniture that included a dresser, nightstands, small table and an armoire. The bathroom was very spacious and well equipped, even by American standards. Overall, a great value for money.
Our first two days in Brussels were unusually hot for the city and, with no air conditioning, a bit uncomfortable.
Pascal was the perfect host and made himself available at all times. He provided us with helpful sightseeing hints, maps, and restaurant recommendations. We felt like we were staying with friends.

Carmelites is run by a family who have converted their home to a B&B. The house is extremely charming - the brick arch separating the dining area and the kitchen gives the house a unique character. I understand from my conversations with Pascal (the Owner) that it is a preserved house in Belgium.
The location couldn't be better. It is around the corner from Mannekin Pis and a mere 5 mins of a leisurely stroll from Grand Place.
Being so close to a major tourist attraction, you would think that it would be noisy, especially given that Mannekin Pis attracts people into the early hours of the morning. But you'd be surprised that you don't really hear much once inside the apartment.
The property was very quaint and cosy with the brick walls. our room was spacious and we had a lot of privacy. It is a 3-storeyed apartment, with the owners staying on Level 2 (Level 1 being road level). Level 1 has the dining area and we were on level 3. The beds weren't the most comfortable - a little to bouncy for our liking, but nothing that hurts the back. The bath is huge, with only a bath tub. There is no standing shower.
Pascal, the owner, was very friendly and shared interesting things about Belgian life. He also gave good recommendations for restaurants and things to do in Belgium. Our morning conversations over breakfast were fun. It was sweet of Pascal and Akemi to share some wine with us over a conversation, one of the evenings. Pascal was kind enough to drop us off to the station the day we left Brussels.
We loved our stay at Carmelites - the character of the apartment was very unique. I'd certainly recommend Carmelites if you are looking for a cozy, convenient, comfortable stay in Brussels.

Yes, we have one hair dryer in the room and one in the apartment ....
Il y a un parking public à environ 300 mètres de la maison mais on peut aussi se garer sur la rue à proximité en fonction de votre heure d'arrivée.
