The place is very nice with very good and spacious rooms, kids and family friendly. Close to city center and is nice if you want to wander around the city. The parking costs 25EUR a day, has a single electrical charger and is very tight. I was surprised that if we book for the whole group through a single person we can’t have the rooms under separate names, which basically is normal in so many other hotels especially Marriott, this meant that only the one who booked can redeem the points for all the rooms, the receptionist was almost too rude to end the conversation when I asked on why is that and how awkward it is. Actually the lady receptionists were much nicer overall and our whole group didn’t approach the reception when he was the one free. I think this guy should be trained on how to speak to guests, he’s the main reason for a lower rating.…
After a long time and a lot of rented apartments, we went back to have a Hotel room. I have to say that I enjoyed the stay in Aloft Bruxelles Shuman: clean, spacious room, good location, transport nearby, helpful staff. I have nothing to say, really nice experience. Recommended!!!
Location is excellent for reaching EU buildings. Loved the general concept of the lobby. Room is comfortable, cozy, modern and you get a marshall speaker as well!! How cool. The gym is practical, staff is helpful I would invest a bit more in the breakfast to make it perfect. Thank you.
Stayed at Aloft during visit to Brussels to visit friends upon the end of quarantine rules. The manager learned that I was celebrating a significant birthday on this trip and arranged for an upgraded room and snacks to be delivered to the room. Very clean, spacious room, convenient to the EU block and public transport. Very good value!
I visited several time the hotel and I was planning to stay there this month too. But, virus break put me in self - isolation, as just returned from a zone with high risk of contamination. Hence, being forced to stay home, I asked for a refund due to force majeure! Being a planned trip in several cities, I asked all hotels along my to-be trip; all but Aloft returned payment or gave me a voucher for 2020 ( even smarter approach ). Aloft, no! What force majeure? You booked it non refundable and we need your money - even they risk the health of other guests! I was tempted to go, get my room, have my breakfast, stay in lobby a while with other guests and receptionists and then call the health authorities to quarantine all hotel. But my flight was cancelled too...
I would not choose an aloft again; they’re just not for me. However, if you like the concept, there was nothing drastically wrong with this hotel so I can’t fairly rate it poor. I get their model but it seems the hotel cuts back on features like on-site restaurant (or even café), room service, gym, etc. not for traveller convenience but more to save them costs. The location of this hotel is great for the EU institutions but in the evening it’s really, really dull. Don’t expect nightlife, bars or even restaurants. I like to explore and walk around but found nothing nearby and ended up having takeaways on three nights and two of those from the same take-out! The hotel says there is a selection of meals you can microwave and take to your room but this hotel had five, yes five, ready-meals in the fridge. None of which looked appealing. The room itself was also sparse with a mere curtain creating the effect of a wardrobe. There was a fridge (with someone else’s half-empty bottle of milk in it when I arrived). So for me, when I travel away from home, I look for comfort, convenience and a hotel that can provide what I need. Aloft did not meet that.…
The location of this hotel is perfect is you're at the institutions. For a weekend away it's maybe a little quiet round here. I think I'd rather be in town at the weekend. The hotel itself is nice. The staff all speak English (in fact, the girl in the desk didn't speak French at all!). The rooms are big and the beds are really comfy. All the rooms I have been in so far are really badly overlooked by the surroundings offices and apartments so make sure you close the curtains! The bathrooms are nice, although the shower cubicles leak a bit into the rest of the bathroom. Generally it's a great hotel but a property breakfast offering would be nice.
My second Aloft location. Really pleased to see the brand attributes in a new city. Very comfortable, spacious room in a very central location in Brussels. The lack of an in-house restaurant is perhaps the only negative. Helpful staff, bright, clean rooms with a lovely double shower. An in-room Nespresso machine always improves my demeanour and tips this stay from a 4 to 5 star, overall I consider it very good value. Will be back again when next in Brussels!
I stayed at Aloft on two occassions, in July and September 2019 for a business trip. The location of the hotel is perfect, everything is a walking distance away - metro and train station, restaurants and cafes, the EU institutions. The hotel itself is neat and clean, with a nice breakfast. The rooms are nice and spacious, with good amenities. The sound insulation is great and no noise can be heard from the outside, which is perfect for a good night's sleep or if you need to work. There were three things I did not like - the bed and pillows are quite soft, the bathroom sink is placed in the room (not in the same area as the shower and the toilet), and the hotel has a very distinct minty air freshener aroma that I do not prefer, but all of those things are a matter of personal preference. Other than that, everything was nice, the hotel has a cute bar with a nice terrace, the staff is helpful. Would recommend :)…
Aloft is a really good location. It‘s not direct in the city centre but thanks to the close subway, you get fast where ever you need. If you are interested in the European commission, than you‘re on the right spot. The headquarter is direct around the corner. The stuff at Aloft is really nice and on friday they open in Club in the hallway 😀. The rooms are big, comfortable and clean ... But, and thats the reason for the 4*, our washbasin was clogged. Bit in total, good price for a very nice hotel
