Booked through Hotels.com. Great price for a family suite for 4 nights over Christmas. Easy check in. The map they give at reception is ok, but the print is very small. Get a map of the metro / trams before you go if you can. Ticket machine at Thomas stop was not working during our stay. Go to Gard Du Nord station where all the trains, trams and metro run from and the machines work.Room was ready when we arrived. It was pretty clean overall, just some dust missed behind the unit under the tv, which we only discovered when we pulled unit out to plug in the desk lamp. Cleaners came and refreshed the room everyday which was great. Only thing was they tended to call quite early 8am. Not a problem if your up early anyhow. We liked a lie in, so just asked them politely if they’d come back after breakfast when we’d have gone out for the day. They didn’t seem to mind and were very lovely. Bath plug was missing from our room and so we let the gentleman on reception know in the morning, and by the time we had had breakfast it had been replaced. Sorry I didn’t get the gentleman’s name, but many thanks to him for such a swift service.
Lobby area is stunning with a library, pool table and lounge.
Breakfast had a good variety of continental and cooked items. The guide for the cooking of eggs in the hot bath egg thing is perfect.
Bar staff are friendly and love to have a chat. Drinks are pricey but very good. Doesn’t make sense that a g&t was more expensive than a cocktail with lots of shots in like a Long Island ice tea for example. Also, on a couple of occasions both the bar receipt and dinner receipt had items on multiple times which is confusing. We queried this and the bar staff pointed out the extra items had been voided (shown by a tiny v symbol next to the item), but did not explain why this was being done.
overall a wonderful stay and would book here again.

Arrived at hotel for my birthday and it took 15 minutes to wait in the queue to check in. One arriving at our room the layout was lovely and spacious and the place was clean. We left our bags and got a taxi to Brussels central. Came back and around 11pm our room stank of marijuana and tobacco. My partner who has never smoked in his life and had throat cancer went downstairs to politely ask the reception if they could find who was smoking and ask them to stop, considering it was a NO SMOKING hotel.
My partner came upstairs and 20 minutes later reception arrived at our room and we let him in and he advised us there was no smell at all. He said he would investigate. He never got back to us. The smell was potent for two hours until it faded. After the smell had faded two young Women knocked on our door strangely also smelling of marijuana and advised us they got the wrong hotel room??

We stayed the night after to which there was occasional smells of smoke but not as strong. On checking out we advised the gentleman on reception to whom responded that we weren’t the only ones who had noticed this??

Nobody ever came back to our room that night with an update or tried to at least help/compensate for our tarnish night and no apology offered at reception.

I have emailed the company twice and twice been ignored.
If you wish to stay in a room and get high off someone else’s supply whilst have stranger knock on your door, this is the place for you.

Enjoyed the stay here overall, hotel was clean, rooms spacious, lobby was modern, has PCs to use and offers the opportunity to buy snacks and drinks which is a nice touch.
The pool table also is a nice thing to have.
A couple of things to note though, it says 20 min walk to the centre but this is more a 25-30 min walk (and we are fit in out 30s)
So if you are planning to head back to the hotel to get changed for dinner, it's a heck of alot of walking. (Of course the metro is available)

They also offer English breakfast tea bags in the room, however no milk!
There is milk creamer supplied, great for coffee, but not for tea. When asked at reception for milk, I was advised to take from a cafe!
It's a 4* hotel with a restaurant, milk should have been offered.

Breakfast was expensive at €40 per day for 2. There's plenty of places in the centre to eat. I guess if you are on business and on expenses this is what they are counting on.

The staff weren't overall friendly, checked us in and stored our luggage but nothing more than that. It didn't feel welcoming to ask them about touristy questions.
It is more geared up for business guests.

We came as a couple for my birthday to visit for the first time. The room was ready in time and the check in all right, the receptionist was friendly. We have received a room on the 3rd floor, number 3329. The room seemed good but unfortunately wasn’t because was noisy and there was mould. We had air conditioning, coffee machine, toiletries, bathrobes and slippers. I have requested for another room because we could not sleep, the noise was terrible you could hear everything like housekeeping cleaning, people walking, people talking, people closing/opening the doors, etc and we have received a room on the second floor, number 2440 offered by the receptionist named Price who tried to help but didn’t offered much info however the new room had no coffee machine, no bathrobes, no air conditioning and the same noise. We have requested bathrobes and slippers and the receptionist informed us that they don’t provide and that they forgot to remove them from the previous room, how rude and unprofessional however they provided us later on with them. Breakfast is expensive for what they provide, not many choices. Food in general is limited and expensive. The corridors are smelling like food you can feel it on your clothes. We have asked to refill our shower gel and receptionist offered soap instead saying that she doesn’t know where housekeeping keeps them, a joke. Was not a nice experience for my birthday and I don’t see the 4 stars in this hotel. The room service was good and the gentleman really professional. My fiancé tried to make me a surprise for me asking the receptionist Saturday evening for a slice of cake or any deserts with candle, he wanted to buy but unfortunately they said that they don’t have anything not even a candle and they advised him to go and buy from outside. I definitely don’t recommend for couples, pregnant women’s or any visitors.

Dear Guest, Thank you for choosing the President Brussels hotel for your stay in Brussels and for taking the time to evaluate your experience with us. We are sorry to read that some of our services didn't meet your expectations. We read your feedback with the utmost attention. Regarding the noise and the smell in your room, we are glad we could find a solution and move you to a different room. We are happy that you appreciated the additional complimentary slippers and bathrobes provided to you in both rooms despite the room being of a standard category, for which normally no such amenities are featured. Our standard rooms are equipped with coffee facilities but not with a coffee machine. This room category does not have any air conditioning, but rather a central heating. We are sorry if soap was provided to you and not shower gel and are disappointed that we could not provide you with a candle for your birthday cake. We will make sure to follow up on these comments. We will forward your observations regarding the breakfast and the food to the corresponding departments. We are glad that the room service was to your liking and the service professional. We hope to welcome you again soon in our hotel, The President Brussels Hotel Team

I upgraded to an executive king room and nothing was executive about it. Decor was dated and worn. After leaving the water running in the shower at the highest heat it barely felt warm. Water inlet pipe to toilet leaked. Reported these to reception and they did nothing. Supposed to be 2 gowns in room. Only came with one, reported and went out at about 11 am, came back at around midnight but still no second gown. Had to wait in reception for 20 minutes while someone found one and the belt loop was busted on that. Extractor air vents were all manky and looked like they hadn't been cleaned for years. If you like a hard mattress you're in luck, it was like wood. Stayed for the 2 nights and as I checked out I mentioned all this again and they just stared blankly like they knew nothing. None of what I'd reported had been noted against the room. Their response was without apology, they just said. Okay will get it fixed for the next guest. So if you get 4438, be warned as I doubt it will be fixed.

I stayed here from 27th-29th November. The hotel was fine, clean, tidy and comfortable and a decent location.
The reason for the poor score is due to not having my 100 euro holding deposit refunded to me. I was advised by the hotel management that I would be refunded this back within 5 days, however to date, despite multiple messages to the hotel, I have not received it. I have now had to raise a dispute with my bank.
My advice would be not to stay here and to those that do, please use you credit card and ensure you check that you get your deposit back.

It was not a pleasant experience at all. Staff at the reception was not attentive neither helpful. When we arrived to the room, we found out there was no air conditioning on the first and second floor, it just didn’t exist. It wasn’t possible to change rooms because supposedly they were all occupied. The safe box didn’t work so we went to ask for batteries at the reception, they didn’t even offer to change them themselves, they just gave it to us and expected us to change them. Besides, they weren’t even the right batteries they were a lot smaller.

The only good thing was the waiter from the bar, he was so nice and attentive. Enrick we love you, you were the only good thing in the hotel.

Thankfully we stayed only for one night but we are never coming back. Please do not even CONSIDER staying here. Besides, we thought that the safe box thing was just for us, but reading other reviews, we weren’t the first ones.

A comfortable and nice hotel close to the train station and subway at a reasonable price. Friendly staff (including maids and lobby bar staff), clean rooms and other areas of the hotel, lifts with sufficient capacity. Good breakfast, enough tables in the breakfast restaurant. Good communication with the hotel when booking.

Comfortable rooms and nice hotel but terrible service by staff. they acted like the small coffee creamer sachets were a rare commodity! the housekeeping staff doesn't replace them daily and when you call and ask them for 2 sachets of creamer, they point blank dismiss you, as if they are bringing it from home! disappointing.

The private garden was lovely and quiet, the room was nice, but the ned did creak. Our safe also didn't work and we told the staff and they said they would fix it but they didn't. We were only staying 2 nights, so it didn't seem worth it to keep reminding them. Their shop was absolutely extortionate, there's a market across the road with the same stuff for a third of a price. Its not in the greatest area of the city, but I knew this before coming and that's why it is much cheaper than a lot of hotels.

Cooked options were chicken sausages, pork sausages, scrambled egg and bacon. There’s also a hot bath for cooking your own boiled eggs. There’s fresh mixed fruit, pastries, bread, sliced meats, cheeses, cereal and yogurts. A very good spread
