Good: We had an apartment, and it was huge. Somewhat sparsely furnished with an odd mix of nice and meh furniture. Staff was great. Great location within easy walking distance of tourist sites, restaurants and big Christmas Market! Pretty quiet at night but not so during the day. Great classical music channel on TV Lots of power outlets but all on the floor except the one in the kitchen. Heaters worked great. As far as I can tell there is no A/C which I have to think would be problematic in the summer. Our room had a balcony which was nice to step out onto but it was too cold to spend much time there. Not As Good: The bed was super soft. I had to sleep on the sofa, which was perfect size and firmness. I think it’s actually a sofa bed as there was an extra set of bedding. No tissues or paper towels provided. The street in front is cobblestone and narrow so noise from cars and people really reverberates - but noise reduced a lot during normal sleeping hours. No carpeting so you can hear people clomping around upstairs. Room wasn’t fully prepared - both TV and fridge were unplugged. Flood of water from the fridge after it started up which was annoying. Room was in adjacent building and card key did not work for main building (where reception is and where breakfast is served). Would be annoying if it was raining. Room does not have a safe.

A reasonably good option for Brussels. A word of warning the first photo you see on the website is not of the hotel; it is the nearby square and in many ways this sums up the hotel. It is in an excellent location; St Catherine's Square is 2 minutes's walk away and the metro is 3 minutes. There are plenty of good restaurants, bars and funky shops nearby and the area has a good vibe. It is also an easy walk to the Grand Square (10 minute brisk walk or a 15 minute stroll). The hotel itself could do with a bit of updating; if the owners just spent a little money on it they could market this in the boutique category (but then up the prices). The staff are excellent; very helpful and friendly and able to give advice on a range of issues. We didn't take breakfast because it was extra and seems a little pricey. When we arrived we were placed in one of the smaller rooms at the very top of the building. This caused problems as, because of health issues, the stairs (no lift) were rather difficult to negotiate, particularly after a long day's sight seeing. But give the staff their due when we raised the issue they moved us to a far better room on the first floor once it became available (after 2 days). The first room we were in was small and stuffy (it did have air con) and it was one of these en suites in effect built into the room. However, the second room (Room 214) was spacious, had a large separate (and separated) bathroom and a small hallway. It also had large airey windows. On that point, not all rooms have air con which might be an issue in warmer months. Also we noted that one of the single rooms does not have an en suite bathroom but has a separate toilet and a separate bath/shower room. There were some niggles while we were there such as bins not always being emptied and toilet paper not always being replenished. Nevertheless, this is competively priced for Brussels and a good option. We would stay here again but provided we were in one of the better rooms.

Reality does not correspond to the description. Only 5 rooms in the three hotel buildings have air conditioning. The facade receives sun all day, so in summer you cannot sleep here without air conditioning. I ended up changing hotels and losing the money I had paid in advance.

Located in a great neighborhood, just down the street from Sainte Catherine square. Lovely service and comfortable rooms. Make sure you reserve the breakfast beforehand if you want it. Local food to enjoy: Nordzee - Mer du Norde, La Belle Maraichere, and La Boussole. Gaston for good ice cream and ViaVia for local beer selection (try something aside from Leffe or Stella)!

Nice hotel a block or two away from the touristic center, five minutes walk from the nearest tube station and a handful of good (mainly fish) restaurants. There is a lot you can reach by walking. Large bedroom and large living room. Not the best place for breakfast but there are a lot of good places nearby. Not expensive.
