We booked for one night and got the "hill" room, a small but very clean room, onfortunate The window looked out on a roof and +/- 1 meter was the extraction from de kitchen. Even with the window closed a lot of noise and with de window open noise + smell of the kitchen. So avoid the "hill" room. Another... More

My room was small and the main light did not seem to work. Still, it was clean, cosy and the staff friendly. More to the point, you rested your head at night yards from an epic moment in history. Amazing.

We booked this hotel as my husband is writing a book on Waterloo so we wanted to be near to the battlefield. This hotel couldn't be any nearer- it's surrounded by it and only 2minutes walk from the visitor centre and Lion's Mound. The rooms are little small and no tea or coffee maker. They are also very very hot,... More

We really enjoyed our stay here .The staff were friendly and keen to help resolve any problems. The rooms are small but clean and reasonably well equipped . The bathroom was a decent size with good towels .The bed was comfortable but the room was far too hot .This was a real issue for us .We were offered another room... More

Since I last reviewed Le 1815 Hotel, I have stayed there on two further occasions – once during the bicentenary of the Battle of Waterloo in June 2015 and then again for a weekend in February 2016. On both visits, I have been very happy indeed with my experience. For a Waterloo buff, the hotel’s principal attraction will always be... More

Our room was compact and very hot but it overlooked the battelefield and was a short walk from the museum and attractions which made up for it. Hotel was clean and staff helpful. Ate in the restaurant one evening which was good food but more fancy than we required. Also, the restaurant doesn't open every night and the restaurant next... More

Ideally located for an historic trip to Waterloo battlefields Small room. Air conditioning close to the window makes noise. Bed is ok, smooth Tried the restaurant : very good food, local specialities (vol au vent and local beer) Very good service Despite these good points, the price remains high

The hotel is in an excellent location which makes up for the following to some extent. Our top floor double room was very stuffy and only had low set porthole windows which limited the view. The high set small tilt windows allow little flow through ventilation making the room hot and stuffy. The small fan provided was totally insufficient. Breakfast... More

We spent a night at the Hotel 1815 which is the perfect place to start your exploration of Waterloo. The Battlefield was literally outside our window. We stayed in the Ney bedroom which was comfortable & very reasonably priced. The staff were very helpful & although we didn't have breakfast it looked like great value
