This hotel is “my home away of home”. I’m a recurring customer, as I go yearly to Mechelen. It’s the best hotel experience you can have! The hotel is fantastic and the warmness of all the employees of all the hotel make you feel at home! They even reserve at my request the same room year after year. The perfect stay!
We stayed one night at Martin's Patershof. The hotel is unique and great for people who love nice architecture. We stayed "Exceptional Best Of Home" room". The room has beautiful arches, and it is really unique experience. The location is good, just half an hour drive from Brussels and walking distance from Mechelen city center.
The hotel is certainly interesting as it is a church. However, in an ordinary standard room, you don't get any special feeling of that you are in a church, which was a slight disappointment, It's more or less like just any hotel room. The restaurant that was located in the major church room with the altar in front, was the only place that felt special. Apart from that, it was a clean and quiet room with a comfortable bed.
On booking.com extra comment was added, honeymoon trip. No acknowledgement was received from the hotel regarding this. Emails we received was over and over again to upgrade the room and extra services. Little acknowledgement of congratulations and thank you for choosing us was enough as customer service. Easy fast check in. Room location was well explained. The room itself was very nice, size wise and clean. slippers, bath rope and extras were foreseen. Also there was a little welcome card with a cookie for the honeymoon. Thank you.
Very beautiful hotel, Well situaties, good rooms, good breakfast and friendly staff We had a very nice staat but a little bit too short. And now inhave to fill my 200 karakters for this review, done...
Good large room, though difficult to keep warm (the thermostat didn’t seem to be doing much). Comfortable bed and a nice large jet tub. Good water pressure. Nice breakfast - they had hot food and fresh bread, as well as a large selection of other typical items. Lunch was delicious and the restaurant - unusual (vestiges of its church past). Some negatives: I thought they could have had better setup for the meeting rooms. Way too small given the covid situation. We had to keep windows and the door open and wear masks for 2 days. The bathroom in the lobby was extremely hot and didn’t smell very good. Coffee at breakfast wasn’t good. The room didn’t have slippers.
I did not know Mechelen and the city was a very nice surprise. Staying in this amazing hotel very close to the city centre was a treat. Amazing room, good breakfast, friendly service and a very good deal. Highly recommended.
A very nice hotel. It’s a former cloister and church that has been transformed to a hotel. They did that very nice with respect for the all the former details such as the stained glass windows. Good buffet breakfast with cava if you like. Friendly personnel. The hotel is located in the centre of the town. Main attractions within 5 to 10 minutes walk. Unlike modern concrete hotels with soundproof rooms you can hear the occassional rumour but that’s not annoing.
Lovely hotel built in an old church. Rooms are unbelievable with lovely stained glass windows. Stayed in a room on the second floor with a jet bath. Rooms were very spacious. Staff from check in to checkout were very helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was good. Wide range of drinks in the bar.
First of all when you arrive ,you've got the feeling to be in an old church which is already unique for an hotel! Afterward there is a great service and organization, everything is clean an adapted for COVID. But when you arrive in your bedroom WOUAA ! the stained glasses. the first time we went in a "Great Double" and the last one was "Exceptional Double" We walk in the city realy very very clean, we visit the Cathedral and other churchs ,went to the Grote Mart. We already went twice there but we certainly go more !!!!!
