Excellent stay in a very good location. Love the style and hospitality as well as how easy to reach the hotel and to leave from the hotel direction Bruxelles. Perfect location also for the night dining/drinking experience.

The location is excellent, right in the old city center, but on a quiet side street. The staff was great. overall the hotel has a nice design and is comfortable. spacious bathroom, room is average size, but quiet. comfortable bed. Some of the details in the room felt a bit worn out. It could use a refresh. It's a good...

Great hotel with a stunning location close to the historical topics. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend room 10 that is located under the roof with a nice skydome on the cathedral. Please note that you need to be able to climb stairs as there is no lift inside the hotel.

There is no lift. I had difficulty climbing up and down the spiral stairs with carrying my suitcase. And the room was not barrier-free. There were some differences in level in the room. I missed a step between the bedroom and the bathroom. I think it's not friendly for elderly people. The toilet behind the small lobby stinks. The lobby...

Dear Mr. Yukiwarisou, Thank your for your review. We are sorry to hear you haven't had a pleasant stay. Due to the fact that the hotel is an 16th century building, we indeed do not have an elevator. This is clearly communicated on all booking websites including ours. However, I understand it is not ideal, especially for elderly people. Concerning...

This was a one-night thing so we were not too picky. The room was pleasant and the staff helpful. Housekeeping and maintenance could have been a bit better. There was mildew around the bathroom and the bathroom door system had banged up the wall badly and it needed repairs. The inner court is being worked on so there was pipe...

I was pleased to walk from the hôtel to most of the attractions. Beds are confortable. However, the rooms are not as quiet because of the echo from the first floor. Spiral staircase makes it difficult with big luggage. Service is fine.

We are happy with our stay, but the room was a little to small. No aircondition. Really cosy tough. Cant be any better location! We will come back next year, but will book larger room. We was here for Ronde van Vlaandere

Thank you for your review! In the description of the rooms the square feet are mentioned. This way you can choose your room knowing exactly how big it will be for next time! We are looking forward to welcome you back next year! :-)

Small hotel with 11 rooms close Grote Markt. Nice and clean rooms. The breakfast is OK. Would have liked some vegetables. The tables aren't cleaned until the breakfast is done. Looks a little messy. Recommend booking directly at their homepage for included breakfast.

Thank you for the review Kim! We try to clean the tables asap, but sometimes it can be a bit busy... I absolutely agree it looks kind of messy when the tables are not cleaned. Hope to see you next time in Hotel Matelote!

Super nice boutique hotel ! We stayed here for just one night in the duplex junior suite (superior suite) and it was awesome it has 3 levels! A Very nice and big room, a stunning bathroom! And our own roof terrace( not a place you really can sit) when we arrived at The Matelot, we had a very friendly welcome,...

In General, the Hotel is very clairaudient. You can hear everything, what happens in front of it or in the room besides you. really everything (...)... since the reception is empty during the night, you have bad luck, or try it with nocking at the walls, after you heard you neighbors Dong "sports" for some hours. The Hotel itself Looks...
