Originally Duplex room was booked, but when we arrived, we found out leakage from air-conditioning system. So we told the reception staff about it and they offered moving to one of Suites (upon our choice). Also after moving to this room we've got a complimantary bottle of house wine. That was really touching. Very quiet and peacefull location. Close to tram station. We just enjoyed our short but sweet stay there. Thank you for your hospitality. Looking forward to coming back. Stayed there in July 2017.
The location is excellent - take the tram or - even better - walk into the city center for shopping and sightseeing. This complex has been converted to a conference/meeting facility with different sized rooms as well as hotel. The rooms come in different "renovation" stages. There are very recently renovated rooms with modern furniture, but still some rooms with the charm of the 80ies (and the look of 30 years of use). However, the rooms are spacious. Mosquitos might be a problem if the guests before left the windows that did not have screens open.
The title almost says it all. This was a working hospital until a few short years ago. The new hospital is on the other side of the city block! The last occupant apparently left in the late 1980's. Extensive renovations have repurposed this old hospital complex into a delightfully modern hotel and conference centre. Staff speak several languages so you will be pleased. The gates, doors and elevators are locked at night and your room key will get you safely inside. This hotel has really good food for serving to your conference attendees. Breakfast is "continental" and plentiful. The service is quick and helpful.
Disrepair galore: Worn out carpet, worn out furniture, shower door inoperable, hairdryer shorts out, no screens on window, mosquito bites all over our bodies, no refrigerator, electrical outlets inoperable, safe inoperable, and the housekeeper yells at the top of her lungs at her coworkers. When I complained about the yelling housekeeper to the front desk clerk, I was told, “That’s her culture.” Unprofessionalism in an environment that should be a place to get rest. Visit the beautiful chapel for free, but find a better hotel to stay at for your Antwerp visit. This is the worst hotel I have ever had the displeasure to stay in.
The setting is exceptional, an old monastery. Excellent location close to the city centre, shops and restaurants. Rooms very nice. Good breakfast. No 24h reception. No parking but public parking close, e.g. parking oudaen. Unique experience in any event.
