The big selling point of this hotel is that is in an old monastery, as such the hotel building and grounds are a haven of tranquility. I arrived about 8pm on a Sunday evening to find it all shrouded in darkness. After 10 minutes I managed to find a security guard who could arrange check in - ie give me... More

We stayed here for a family birthday party event and found it very pleasant. We had one of the smaller rooms, but it was fine. Bigger rooms seem spacious and comfortable. The location couldn't be better: easy walking distance to the main squares, shopping streets and markets. Elzenbeld doesn't have a bar or dinner restaurant but there are many close... More

The hotel works in an old monestary, the building and the courtyard has a very nice and quiet athmosphere. Breakfast is simple but fine, staff is friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable in my room, but the furniture and the bathroom looked to be overused. Towels were changed every day - I found it a bit annoying from... More

The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and make a very peaceful haven in the city. The rooms were comfortable and breakfast was good. It was about a 10 minute walk into the old town, but there were some nice looking restaurants/ bars nearby. Staff friendly and helpful- the only downside is that I got half bitten to death by... Clearly this hotel has an ongoing problem with mosquitoes as they are mentioned in the room guide and we were given plug-in repellents - which did not work. The problem was that in our room (208) not all of the windows had fine meshes across them and so we (or the previous occupants) unwittingly let them in. We were both... More

Nice hotel in old cloister with beautiful garden, close to the center, you can walk for about 10-15 minutes. Furniture is old, beds were too soft for us. Breakfast was average. But for that price it was OK.

A charming place, very near the city centre and all the main sights with two tram lines outside the door. The hotel is in a converted convent and retains its gardens. Rooms are modern, light and comfortable with all the required amenities (wifi, tv, etc). Good breakfast, effective andattentive staff. I asked to visit the chapel and it was open... More

This place has history and how. It used to be the old Antwerp hospital dating back to 1200s. It has its own medieval chapel with not one but two organs. Ancient and modern art - some risque. Large bedrooms and showers. But very few of the mass produced mod cons. This place is unique. Also a 5 minute walk into... More

Charming gardens/grounds of former convent. Small but very clean bedroom and bathroom facing quiet central courtyard. Nice breakfast buffet with breads/croissants, cheeses, meats, cereals, and some cut fresh fruits. All amenities were good. We were provided with washcloths which is a first in our European experience so far (I had brought my own along this time). A bit of a... More

A very nice, well located hotel. Very interesting surroundings (maybe an old convent?). Easy to get to from the metro after a small walk; there is also a tram passing outside if I remember correctly. All in all it was not so expensive. I arrived very late, had to phone the night porter to inform I was there, waited a... More
