This very nice building is one of the first things you see at the square it's located. We were welcomed by the Doorman. At the reception they told us our room wasn't ready yet. It was supposed to be ready. I left my luggage at the reception and they told me they would bring it up to our room as soon as it was ready. We also could pick up the key at the reception. Would be less than 30 minutes. Had a walk outside for about 1.5 hours. Once we were back at the reception they still had to arrange our room, like they didn't do anything at our arrivel when we sat there for 10 minutes. This time we had to wait again for at least 5 minutes and it seemd like he was looking for a room, still lokking for a room. And typing. And scrolling....So. finally he found us a room. Gave me the card and walked us to the elevator. We got up. Looked for price-quality ratioNo one had seen my luggage. And after 5 minutes they found it. Had to take it up myself. Room was classic. Later that evening we found out the tv wasn't working. The next morning we saw that the sheets were ripped. Several holes. Mirror in bathroom wasn't clean. A lot of dust on several places. And they told me we had to wait because the room was cleaned? I don't believe it. Told this to the lady at the reception when we wanted to check out. She took notes, said she was sorry and that's it. I've had a lot of better stays at B&B's, appartments and hotel for a lot less then what we had to pay here for a night. For me this was a one-timer. Period.

Des Indes has an impressive interior design overall. The room was spacious, clean and attention was paid to detail. Kind staff. The hotel's car parking is conveniently situated across the street opposite to the main entrance. To improve: At booking stage, clear information should be provided about where the room is situated, i.e. at the front, back, or at the side of the hotel, as the views are very different.

Lovely food with sandwiches and cakes and atmosphere. The room it is held in is gorgeous. Great service from Max. More tea through the afternoon would have been nice. Recommended experience for holiday makers and residents.

Back again in Des Indes after a pleasant stay a little less than a year ago.. How much things can change in such a short time. Where should I start.. - One day before arrival we checked by mail the breakfast times. Only after 24 hours and 2 reminders later, we got a response.. - We reserved parking one day before arrival, got a confirmation by mail, however upon arrival we were not expected.. - No minibar or roomservice due to Covid.. We stayed a week earlier in Prinsenhof Hotel in Groningen where full service was available.. - Dead leaves in the palm trees in the main restaurant.. - Multiple paint stains in the bathroom. Various colors… - Multiple lights did not work in the bath room.. - Curtains dirty/stained - Leaking heating with brown rust stains - We had to wait 15 minutes at breakfast before the waiter paid any attention to us. After that it still took them 10 minutes to get anything serviced on the table. - Because of Covid, no breakfast buffet.. That what was served on the table however was of poor quality.. Soft croissants (bake off?), Soft kaiser brotchen. A little fruit, yoghurt and scrambled eggs.. Price Euro 31,50 a person... - Breakfast on the invoice was calculated wrongly - We did not receive a printed invoice at all - When picking up the car we mentioned our name only to see the doorman return with the keys of the wrong BMW.. All in all poor, and definitely not on par with the 5 start hotel it pretends to be. I think I miss sharpness, focus and attention in many areas. To make the picture complete I decided to send a direct message to the GM of the hotel. He shared his name and email address in a response to an earlier TripAdvisor review (…). It was a very neutral message, basically listing out our experience and hoping he would take advantage of our experience.. Guess what, no response at all to my mail. No "out of office", no "thank you", no "we will look into it", no "sorry for this”… It made me clear that the miserable level of service, focus and attention, comes right from top management down to the floor. A consistent ‘don’t care’ attitude. Be warned..

Amazingly there was no toilet paper in the room. Breakfast is very limited, quality of breakfast is basic and personnel in the breakfast lounge not very customer oriented. Parking in front of the hotel is ridiculously expensive and the cost are not mentioned up front, in spite of asking about parking with the hotel reservation. Staff at the front desk had no time to check us in and this process had to be done at the concierge desk. (Hotel was far from full - strange) The hotel is in short at the moment not at all close to the class of hotel they think they belong in.
