Lovely comfortable room, really Central to everything in The Hague and only a few metres from a tram stop. We had a slight issue with our personal bikes not being available to us due to a bank holiday closing the neighbouring bike garage that the hotel had directed us to use. I have to say that our complaint to the hotel management was dealt with extremely efficiently and effectively and has led me to say with complete confidence that I would recommend and would stay at the Mercure again. More importantly I am confident that they have taken steps to ensure that this wouldn't happen again so full marks to the Mercure Den Hague

Congratulations to Mr Rutger Blom, the General Manager of the hotel for the excellent service of the staff. The hotel is with prime central location - both trams 1 and 9 going to the beach stop in front - 20 mins to the beach area. All shopping and eating outlets are just 5 mins walk. Go and see the china quarter with variety of food offerings at moderate prices again in minutes. The Megastores are also 2 tram stops away. Also walking distance to Den Haag Central. The rooms are quite large featuring very nice working desk. Windows can be opened just to allow fresh air. If rooms are available try to take a room facing the nearby church as the ones facing the crossroad are a little noisy. Deliveries are allowed. I had little problem with the TV in the room and the reception was extremely quick to solve all this. The reception is excellent - everybody is saying "I will do it now" and not "I'll speak to...Special thanks to Ms Khalif for delivering so quick problem solving.

We booked a different hotel originally but due to circumstances they offered us this one instead. Very classy. Beautiful lobby. Nice room. Only a pity that there were only two elevators. And you could use them one at a time. Which means you had to wait a while during rush hour when people are checking in or trying to get downstairs for breakfast. And there are A LOT of floors. But that’s just a minor issue. The room was lovely, very interesting shower: if you wanted you could watch your partner take a shower from the bedroom since there was window in the connecting wall. Also nice that there was a nespresso machine.

The Hague itself was a bit of a letdown considering there is a pandemic going on and everyone pretends like it doesn’t exist (no masks nor distance at very busy places) but this hotel was nice to retreat to.

Location was great, easy check in. But housekeeping service was poor. On Day 2 - no tea/coffee refill. On Day 3, only one towel set left while 2 adults were staying in the room. I had to call reception at 2 am and ask for extra set. On Day 3 at 9.20 am housekeeping lady came into the room while we were sleeping. Plus, breakfast fee was way too expensive.

I spent 6 nights at the hotel with a group of students who attended a Model United Nations conference. The staff was extremely accommodating in getting us into our rooms early, which was greatly appreciated. The rooms were perfect for my needs with plenty of space an a nicely appointed bathroom with a tub. The location was perfect. Walking distance to the tram station and the central area with shops and restaurants. I also ate twice at the Chinese restaurant next door and once in the hotel lobby restaurant. Everything was good. Breakfast was excellent. Fresh fruit and juices. and a nice spread. I do with there was a little more variety as it remained the same every day (pancakes, eggs, bacon, chicken sausage, mushrooms, beans). A potato offering would have been nice as well.

My only issue negative with the hotel was housekeeping. The first day, they came really late (I believe after 5 pm)they totally skipped cleaning my room and then the following day was probably the worst cleaning that I have experienced in a hotel. I don't think my towels were ever changed. The front desk was responsive to the situation and even gave me a comped drink, which I appreciated. Outside of the daily cleaning, the rooms were extremely clean and comfortable. Unfortunately for me, I ended up in a double room because we requested to be in a room close to our students. The single beds were very small and it was uncomfortable trying to put them together. I definitely would have preferred a double bed, but it wasn't available for that floor.

Dear Guest, Thank you for giving us an excellent review. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience and such positive feedback acts as motivation for our team members to continue providing excellent service. It is a pleasure to know that our location met your needs perfectly and that you found your room equipped with everything you needed for a comfortable stay. However, we are very sorry for the issues you had, and rest assured that this will be addressed with our housekeeping team, as it is not the level of service expected. Nonetheless, we are happy to hear that our breakfast helped to start your day off the right way. Feedback from our guests is very important to us and we welcome your suggestion and will consider it for the future. We hope to welcome you back again. I was staying 5 nights. I had originally booked for 3 but wrote to reception back in November I wanted to extend the stay to 5 nights. I did ask should I just make a new reservation and they said no, it was recorded. This was confirmed as was the new price. When I arrived at reception, they had no record of my 5 night stay and I had to find the email to confirm both the extension and the remaining nights to pay. The person was lovely and sorted it out, but I felt a bit strange about it. Then after the 3rd night I received an automatic check out message so I checked with reception and they thought I was checking out and I had to go through the whole thing again. I had already paid so I explained that too. Anyway perhaps a note could have been added or something on the system.

The location was perfect. I felt safe walking around at night and it was very convenient for the Amare centre. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was hot and the shower was a good size. I liked they had some BBC channels.

I think on day 4, the wifi was down. This is not reception’s fault but it was out for probably 30 hours. This seems quite odd in a major hotel for it to be out for so long. Unfortunate but it was fixed eventually.

Staff were nice. Lifts worked well.

Dear Kitty, Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We truly appreciate your kind words about our team members. It's a boost for us every time we receive positive reviews. However, we apologize for the communication mishap regarding your reservation and the trouble with the WiFi. We take pride in the proper training of our staff, this is clearly an oversight on our part. Regarding the WiFi , it took us considerably longer than anticipated to trace and repair the faulty hardware, not an ideal situation for our guests. We do hope to see you again in the future. Kind regards, Ryan Lala, Front Office Supervisor

Good, functional hotel which is conveniently situated and offers much for a business stay. Breakfast was decent with a good variety of cold dishes and a pleasant choice of warm prepared food. Selection of bread is excellent while teh vast array of cheese spreads was really good. Coffee was amazing too

The hotel is good, reception and restaurant staff are amazing and very nice. The down side was cleaning service, I was in a business trip but one day worked from the hotel and noticed that the cleaning lady uses the hotel towels to clean the toilet. It was disguising… also the breakfast does not worth 20 euros even it’s good

We stayed in a suite on 9th floor for one night. There was plenty of space for three of us. Living room with proper table, bedroom, closets and very large bathroom with two sinks, bathtub and walk in shower. You can open windows, heating works, aircon cools. Minibar with soft drinks was included. Plenty of wardrobe space. Long bathrobes. Staff lovely and let us use covid credit towards our stay. Highly recommend. It will be our preferred choice for Den Haag.

Our meeting returned to the Mercure Den Haag Central for the fourth time since 2017, based on our excellent experiences at prior events. The staff of the Mercure delivered again! The event was very well organized. The hotel is well situated, easily accessible for business travelers, and offers all the facilities for our gathering. The meeting room is spacious and well laid out, the audio system works flawless. Meeting breaks and lunches offered an attractive, well thought-out and fresh daily variety ("voor elk wat wils"). To sum it up: happy to return to the Mercure Den Haag Central. Totally satisfied, our experiences confirm once again that staff at this property knows how to cater to business meetings. If you are planning a meeting, this is your hotel!

Dear guest, yes at the moment we have a breakfast buffet with hot and cold products as you describe above , but you have to take it to your room to eat or we can bring up roomservice breakfast. Maybe tomorrow evening the government announces new rules and we can open the restaurant again. Kind regards Team Mercure
