Stayed three times dec 2022, first time my daughter had a room that was rather noisy at night, but she could sleep. Second visit was better, Third visit was different, my room smelled like smoke, really strong, I woke up the next day very cold and found out that the window was left open, cleaning lady tried to get the smell out,the drain in the shower was blocked, water stayed a long time in the shower, when I checked in I paid my bill, when I checked out I had to pay extra as the rooms suddenly were more expensive. I forgot a bottle of maple syrup that I brought from C anada in my room but the cleaning lady did not find it. It is a great location, staff is very friendly, breakfast excellent, to pay 65-75 euros for a night is ok b ut no more then that. New years eve they are more expensive then a lot of much better hotels with gym, pool, 4 stars.

We usually stay here on our way back to Hook of Holland following our cycling tour. On this occasion it was very expensive for the size of the room. Maybe because it's the start of the school holidays. The staff are lovely and very informative of the local area. Our room was clean and the bed comfortable. Plenty of hot water. Parking for our bikes which is good. Handy for the beach and all the bars and restaurants. Tram stop about 2 minutes walk away got us to Den Haag for the day. We would recommend for the location.

A nice hotel, in a great location and excellent food.
This should be the start of a very good review but the purpose of my stay was not pleasure.

The noise from outside the hotel penetrated the wall leading to two poor nights sleep. I usually sleep well anywhere so this isn't great.

The meeting room used for two days was appealing. Snacks and drinks were excellent and the staff were supremely helpful.
The issue was with the air con/ ventilation - or actually, the lack of it. I found it very uncomfortable and it made what should have been a pleasant meeting an endurance exercise. Add to that the flaky and unreliable wifi connection and you have a recipe for a failed meeting....we managed to complete our agenda but only a few of the desired international colleagues could attend remotely and only via audio link. Poor.

I will finish by saying that the staff were all great, welcoming and knowledgeable.

I paid 126 € for 1 night by booking directly at the hotel in the week before arrival We booked beginning of April in this old fashioned hotel. The price didn't even include breakfast. The day of arrival room prices were around 80/90 € At the reception the were not able to explain, compensate or excuses (for) the price difference, bravo. for this hospitality!

We got a small room in 80ies style , the small bathroom door couldn't open entirely because it bumped against the bed structure. Other nice experience was the shower curtain sticking to the body.

Room was large, cleanliness acceptable. Very dated style. Staff friendly.
Location good for the beach, 25 minutes walk to world forum, or there is a tram.

Worst part was the central heating pipes bang/clunk at random frequent intervals all through the night. Avoid if you are a light sleeper.

Situated 5 minutes walk from the town centre and 3 minutes from the beach, Badhotel is poor at best, despite a recent make over.

Parking:
Staff did not explain that parking is charged at almost 13 Euro per day. The small carpark next to the hotel was full & I was instructed to use the overflow carpark, which is a dilapidated piece of waste land that is filled with junk! 13 Euro for this!?.

Rooms:
Single room was very small and noise from other occupants was clearly audible.

Service:
Cleaning staff ignored 'Do not disturb' signs. I was woken 5 times within 3 hours. The attitude of Desk Staff was generally unhelpful.

Eventhough it is named Badhotel which means something different in the Holland, the name in English perfectly explains the place. It truly is a bad hotel. To start things off, we were a large group going to stay at the hotel. All of us had to wait a minimum of an hour until our rooms were ready and we were given the keys. Some of us, like myself, had to wait 2 full hours until my room was ready. If you're reading this you probably think that I had arrived early than I was scheduled but in reality I had arrived an hour and a half late. This means that if I had arrived on time I would have sat in the hotel doing nothing but wait for 3 and a half hours. Furthermore, housekeeping their is a joke. They don't really clean the room, they just make the bed, push your clothes to the side, and occasionally change the towels. I had a B&B reservation and might I add, thank god it was only B&B. If I had to eat lunch and diner at that place I would have lost all sense of taste. I would like to write more to help people how bad this hotel is and how much they should avoid it but unfortunately I don't remember any more services or aspects to review. That also says something about the place.

We have stayed 2 nights in this hotel. This hotel works with a cardsystem. When we arrived i saw that you have to pay for wifi so i put the i-pod in my bag and it stayed there until we left. Then on the day of departure it was stolen the only people who have access to the room is the staff. So people you have been warned to take all your valueble stuff out the room. The owner of the hotel A.P van IJzerloo doesn't take any responsebility for stolen properties, the best thing to do is don't book this hotel.

The Bad Hotel is conveniently situated as a 3 star hotel and we found the staff friendly and helpful. The hotel has decent average rooms as expected for a hotel of this nature, but our stay was soured by the lack of TV in the rooms. Management informed us that they are working on a new TV system that will be operational after our departure. Prior to our visit we were informed that this amenity will be available -especially as our visit was on the day of the Wimbledon Tennis men’s final, the cricket World Cup Final and the Tour de France. So I have to rate this hotel down for that, as management did not try to compensate us for their failure. A decent touch would have been to put up a working TV screen in the lounge for guests to enjoy these events. An opportunity lost to position Bad Hotel as special

The insanely passive aggressive receptionist Janet refused to allow us to park in an empty car park for one hour while my wife had a coffee before continuing her drive to Germany. When I queried with the receptionist, Janet stated that the carpark was chargeable and fully booked despite the fourteen empty car park spaces.

When I told her that I was her customer and not her enemy, she reluctantly agreed to allow us to park in the car park for 40 minutes to have a coffee.

The rest of the staff were as nice as Janet was not. However, the room I had was terrible. There was a very old aluminium window secondary glazing that did nothing to make the very loud road noise quieter. I spent a dreadful four nights there, waking up every few minutes to the noise of road traffic. The toilet in the ensuite was so close to the shower that the only way to use the toilet was to put your leg in the shower tray. The room was in general shabby and desperately needed refurbishment.

On my arrival, I gave my business's VAT number to the hotel and asked if it was possible to have the VAT removed as it is in other European countries. The receptionist at the time (NOT Janet but with Janet nearby) agreed and stated that it was perfectly normal. On the day of check-out, I had the misfortune to have Janet who stated that she had never heard of this, had not heard anything her colleague had stated, and that it could not be done.

The overall impression was an angry loser receptionist in an angry loser hotel best avoided.

This is a pity because every other member of staff was as good and friendly and helpful as Janet was not. A real case of one rotten apple contaminating the whole barrel.

I will not be staying there ever again.
