Cosy & Artsy ! Hostel Ani&Haakien is all about creating a sense of community and a “home away from home” on your travels. You might even find yourself rubbing elbows with locals at one of our many events. This is definitely the place to be in Rotterdam if you’re looking to chill out and get inspired by fellow travelers and the city it self. On daily bases we organize dinners! Located just 600m away from Rotterdam Central Station, Ani&Haakien is a short walk from Rotterdam’s most populair attractions such as Markthal and the famous Cube Houses! You don’t find us on a busy bar street — at Ani&Haakien you’ll get a good night’s sleep — But no worries, the young and bustling Central District area of Rotterdam with good coffee places, awesome design shops, rooftop bars, jazz and the electronic night life is just a dance away. So, forget about walking around with your heavy backpack.. drop it at the hostel, and let us tell you all about the cool stuff that's happening!

"groups" are not welcome ? they call themselves a hostel but you cannot book for more than 6 persons ? I booked for 8 persons and they cancelled the booking the next day... of course it's very easy to just book 2 times 4 people with 2 accounts, but ok i get the message and we'll stay away! btw I'm sure they will give plenty of reasons to 'justify' this ...

He, We are not sure why it is that you are so upset because when you made your group reservation online you could have read that we dont allow online group bookings! If you like to come with a group please contact us direct so we can check if we have availibilty for your group! We do have a rule: groups need to book a private room. So a single traveler does not have to share the room with a group of 8 persons.. if you have ever stayed in a hostel by yourself you know this is uncomfortable. Hope you understand our policy and not upset anymore! Liefs Ani&Haakien

Ani & Haakien Hostel has been truly a great hostel. I would say the best I have stayed in Europe so far. The stuff are pretty amazing and friendly, and so are the guests. The place is always clean, and have a very good kitchen. I really recommend this place

From the moment I walked in here, I knew I would love the place. It has a nice space with an open kitchen and living room with a domestic mood and a cat walking around. The rooms upstairs are a little different: more modern and static. Both the rooms and bathroom were clean. People who work here were very friendly to me and helpful to tell me about what I could do and see in town. They have regular breakfast in the morning and pancakes at some days! Walking distance from the bus and train station. There are also some stores close by

Its a small hostel, 3 storey without elevator, limited rooms (less than 100 beds I guess), nice backyard to hang around and mingle. Stay here for 3 night in 8 bed mixed dorm. The room is clean and bright. The bathroom and WC located outside the room, both are clean and well maintained. They served breakfast, simple but enough. Lots of cardboard, card, chess and even 1000 pieces puzzle. Location is not really in the middle, but lots of restaurant is 5 minutes away, so does the Rotterdam Central Station. They provide baggage storage. Meet and making several new friends here. Will coming back here again next time for sure.

I stayed here in July with a big group of friends on a university study tour and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. First big reason to stay here: they have a cat called Suzy who is a beautiful big Maine coon and gives great cuddles Second reason is that the staff are super friendly and chilled, happy to give out lots of advice and the reception sells very cheap drinks! Third reason: the vibes are chilled, guests and staff are laid back, the downstairs common rooms are filled with amazing plants and the out door area has gorgeous lights, plants and seating areas. Rooms were clean, spacious and the beds were comfy, bathroom facilities were nice too. He hostel itself is less than 10 minutes walk from the main station and town square but I must warn you that the stairs are extremely narrow and steep so pack lightly if staying. Highly recommend for travellers who are chilled out and like to travel off the beaten track
