Stayed here for one night driving across Europe. Judging by previous reviews we were expecting a beautifully decorated traditional room. However, it was a bit more like an elderly person's residence. Quite pricy too. Staff weren't overly friendly. Unfortunately I wouldn't rush back. Car park is a bit of a palaver to get to, we were given a key to... More

The hotel is not too big, just right. Their own parking area is great. Front desk is 24 hours and very friendly. Rooms really are smallish and dated and if you don't have one with airconditioning, it does get warm on a warm summer evening. But honestly, it hardly ever is too hot in Holland... and the room is clean.... More

The Staff is the key ingredient to the flavor of the Hotel Van Walsum. The staff is brilliant and friendly. It is truly home away from home. The bonus is the location and food. The public transportation is in waling distance and the breakfast is brunch.

This is what we find a family run hotel in the centre of Rotterdam. The owner gave us a warm welcome and informed us well what to do in Rotterdam. The rooms are not big but all the facilities we needed where there. The Wifi was good. The breakfast was excellent. We loved the little garden!!

We were surprised about the loaction. Nice bars and shops around. Very helpfull staff. Good size room and excelent breakfast in the lovely garden. Fast WIFI connection in the room. We used the car parking of the hotel (15,-) much cheaper than to park on the street. We will be back!!

The staff at this hotel were efficient and helpful. Our room was a good size, and well-appointed, with a wet room and tea-making facilities. However the window was high up, so nothing much could be seen. The buffet breakfast was good, with a wide selection. Bicycles can be stored in the back garden, which is secure but not covered from... We stayed at Hotel van Walsum as a group of filmmakers attending the International Film Festival Rotterdam and having a workshop inside the hotel itself. The location is fairly central (a 15-min walk from de Doelen). The rooms and apartments we were lodged in were clean and comfortable. The staff was incredibly friendly, always available to assist with all requests... More

Visited in may 2015, my boyfriend organised with the hotel a surprise for me, champagne, chocolate, balloons... It was amazing. The room was big, comfortable bed, clean bathroom. Breakfast was ok, we ate outside in the tiny garden they have behind. A short walk from the station, lots of restaurants, shops and pubs close to the hotel. Love the city,... More
