If warm welcomes are the thermostat for judging whether a stay is going to be pleasant, Johan's hospitality will leave you in no doubt from the moment you arrive that Het hemelrijck is a cut above the average B+B. Great host. Rooms are immaculate and spotless. Breakfast super tasty. We loved it. Very steep steps up two flights to the... More

We stayed at this beautiful B&B for 2 nights in April. We had an amazing stay. Johan went out of his way to help us with directions and with getting to sites outside the city. Our room was beautiful and just the perfect place to start off our vacation in The Netherlands. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful! We were never... More

We picked Het Hemelrijck for our 3-day stay in Rotterdam due to the many good reviews and got what we were hoping for. Johan was a wonderful, helpful and caring host and we just loved his tiny, tastefully furnished little townhouse with the steep stairs, and, of course, his legendary breakfast. The three of us shared the left room with... More

We spend three nights in this lovely B and B wich is located in a very nice part of Rotterdam. The city centre is in walking distance. Parking is not a problem. The rooms are clean, quite and Johan does everything to make you feel welcome. The breakfast is a very special treat and the whole place has a fantastic,... More

This bed and breakfast is a place my wife and I will stay in each time we visit Rotterdam because our room was clean and comfortable, our breakfasts fresh and satisfying, and the location perfect for us. Yohan, the proprietor of Hemelrijck B&B, was unfailingly generous, gave sage advice on good restaurants, let us use his umbrella on rainy days,... More

In april I stayed with my kids in the bed&breakfast, in both rooms. The building is situated in a nice neighbourhood, an has a unique charm. The rooms were very cosy and clean. We slept wonderfully, in quiet surroundings and in a good bed. Johan is a nice guy, great hospitality and he serves a delicious breakfast. Tram 8 (stopping... More

Johan is a delightful person, and very helpful, but this really does not meet the demands of the hospitality industry. Both rooms (and there are only two!) are at the top of some impossibly narrow and winding steps. So take note! Secondly there rooms were not serviced at ALL during our time there. It was all so utterly basic. It... More

I'm really sorry to hear you were not happy in my B&B. l think it would have been helpful if you told me this while you stayed here so I could have done more to make you feel comfortable. There is a warning on my website and in previous reviews about the steep stairs in my house. It is a... More

Johan's personal touch is a appreciated. He welcomed us in his sunny kitchen with a cup of tea and we chatted about things to do in Rotterdam and how to get around. On Johan's recommendation we ate at Zinos; a little pricey but well worth it. Our room opened onto private courtyards and the spring sun in the afternoon was... More

We stayed at het Hemelrijck for 4 nights. First of all, it was wonderfully priced and fairly close to the centre of Rotterdam - from the B&B we walked everywhere around the city.
