Boutiquehotel 'the Roosevelt' is the hotel in Middelburg, the capital of Zeeland. You will find us in the middle of the medieval centre of Middelburg. The hotel is built on the borough where the city thanks its name to. The street where the hotel is situated will bring you to the famous market square and beautiful town hall. At the back of the hotel you will find the largest shopping street of Middelburg and in a range of 500 metres the city offers over 30 restaurants. The hotel has 28 rooms in a Boutique style, which means all rooms are decorated differently. The interior has been designed especially for each room, we have 23 boutique-rooms and 5 boutique suites of which The Presidential suite is a spectacular suite. In the lounge we have our winebar d'Orient and a beautiful hotelgarden, an oasis of green in the middle of the city centre of Middelburg. We will have parking spaces in a parkinglot, which is monitored 24 hours a day, a few minutes distance of our hotel.

The Roosevelt has no pretenses, it is exactly what is says it is: a very good 4 star hotel in a provincial capital. The location is great, the people nice, the rooms are nice though a bit dusty but that goes with the building. Even in the "1,5 meter society" good service and good atmosphere.

Totally recommendable: well located, beautifully decorated with great breakfast. Comfy beds, but windows don´t funlly block the light from outside. Also church bells tick every 30 min also at night (so earplugs needed..!). But else, it is great!

I am not a fan of "left-field" hotels but I'll make an exception in this case. It's a meticulously well designed renovation next door to the Abbey. Breakfast served at the table was excellent. Don't know whether this concept came about as a result of Covid rules but it worked a treat. The bar is tiny but on a nice day you can take your drink down to the courtyard. We had room 17, a duplex at the front with very comfortable bed and pillows upstairs (extra TV upstairs is a nice touch). Great shower and adequate tioetries. As previous reviewers have pointed out, the staircase is very steep. Some have said that the disabled or elderly should bear this in mind. Listen: it doesn't matter how young, fit and healthy you are, these stairs are a challenge to a rock climber. But take care and you'll have no problems. The abbey clock chimes through the night. Some people wouldn't like this but I loved it. Such a comforting sound. Middelburg and Vlissingen are well worth the visit, and there are many catering establishments with lots of outdoor social-distancing space..Overall a very pleasant stay to blow away the lockdown cobwebs.

Friendly staff; beautiful rooms, with a fantastic roll top bath; great breakfast including good gluten free options. Corona measures well handled. Great location in center of town but easy to drive to and good parking about 5 mins walk away. Definitely one to recommend!

I've been several times to The Roosevelt and never got disappointed. The location lies in the heart of the old town, at the doorstep of the shopping area and restaurants. Extremely wonderful and quiet. The hotel itself has a restaurant, which I never had the chance to use due to external commitments. I enjoyed the breakfast, very peculiar in this hotel: there is no choice, it is a double platter with sweet and salty, omelette and eggs can be ordered on top. Beautiful concept - just I feel a bit of waste for some guests who don't pick the sweet part or those who don't wish the salty side and it's a pity. No options of saving where provided. Rooms are well appointed, very spacious and with many different views: from the backyard to the main street - a few have an open area between the bathtub and the bedroom. Sleep quality is good - major lack of electric plugs in a 5.0 techie world. Lighting is nice, baths are modern and very design. The rate is extremely good and all these elements have made of this hotel a repeat destination for my trips in the region. Definitely to be recommended.
