Detailed Reviews
Before we arrived in the UK the staff called us 10 in the evening to check if we were coming, I am sure there are other times to call. I asked if it was busy, they responded with no. When we arrived early in the morning they fortunately let us check in early but sadly didn’t get a double bed but two singles, since it was quiet I expected the double beds.
The room was alright. I really missed a mini fridge to store our milk since you could coffee and tea in the room yourself but no milk..
The TV was a pain to work with and since we were tired we just wanted to zone out but found that the remote was not working, even when they replaced it, it was a pain to navigate the TV but that’s just poor TV choice.
The temperature was difficult to get it right. On 19 degrees it was freezing and at 21 it was boiling.
For the rest the location is amazing and for that you can’t expect the best I think. Everyone was dead nice and there was opportunity to use hand sanitisers and there were screens at the reception separating the staff and guests.
However, for a romantic couples weekend away I wouldn’t book this again, it just doesn’t have the luxury and quality we were hoping for.

Dear Charlene, First of all, I would like to thank you sincerely for having visited us. Second, many thanks also for leaving us with your much appreciated feedback. I am glad that you mention several positive aspects of your stay and I obviously pity some of the lesser aspects that you mention. I would very much like to get in touch with you to discuss some issues that you raise. In all modesty, I must admit that the late calling surprises me a lot. In our aim to properly inform everybody about the corona-measures that we have taken and to make sure to provide our best service possible, we try to call every guest before their stay. My team and I however cannot imagine that one of us called a guest at 23:00 o'clock (which is 10 P.M. UK time obviously). Maybe I misunderstand your comment in this regard, but if somehow we did indeed call you at such a late hour, then I am very sorry that we did. Please know that this was only coming from our best intentions. Further, as to your comments on the bed-setting. In general, we have been rather busy actually as we are thrilled that in this post-closure period (having been shut down for three months) occupancy is picking up quite nice! This does not necessarily mean that we are extremely busy, but chances are that the double-bed rooms (in which most leisure guests stay, and for the most part check-out at noon) that we are often not able to provide both an early check-in as well as a double bed. Again, I am sincerely sorry that we apparently did not live up to the expectation but I am confident saying that my colleagues must have been wanting to actually provide extra service by providing a complimentary early check-in. As to the TV; such is only annoying indeed, and our system should properly work. My apologies that it didn't; we do very regular checks on all maintenance items in the rooms, and I am confident that this is more an incident than something that happens regularly. All in all, I would very, very much like to get in personal touch with you so to learn in which room you stayed and to provide you with some form of compensation. As it stands, I would very much like to welcome you again and show that we can indeed cater for 5/5 experiences. Thus, I would very much like to ask you if you can please get in touch with me via roelof.gjaltema@apollohotels.nl. Many thanks again for your feedback and many thanks in advance for getting in touch (hopefully)! Best regards, Roelof Gjaltema General Manager

I stayed at Leonardo for a couple of nights; the location is perfect, right in the city centre ad only a few minutes from the railway station. The rooms are reasonably clean and the reception staff was nice if not always efficient. I did not taste breakfast. However, the hotel's environmental policy is really not satisfactory. Guests are asked to put a sign on the door if they wish the room to be cleaned. However, not putting the sign on does not mean simply that the bathroom or the floor are not mopped (which would be perfectly acceptable for a two day stay). Dirty tea cups are not replaced, the paper bin is not emptied, the room is not aired, the bed is not made. This seems to have little to do with the environment, very much with sparing on personnel fees. The hotel should change its policy or call a spade a spade.

I was in Utrecht for 10 days business trip, and it was my first time in the Netherlands. The staff in this hotel were very kind and fluent in English which was very easy for me to communicate them and they helped me with the issue that I had about my PCR test center at last day of my stay there. The hotel is located near two of the biggest malls with all brands inside it, which makes the shopping really convenient for you. you can reach the Utrecht station by around 5-10 minutes walk, which helps you travel easily through whole Netherlands. you can also walk near the beautiful canals, and have your lunch/dinner besides them at best quality restaurants.
All in all I would recommend the hotel to everyone who wants to enjoy the stay in the Netherlands :)

Close to Utrecht central station which was a godsend as I travelled around the Netherlands a bit during my stay.
The room I stayed in had a kettle, coffee machine, large TV, was quiet also. Hotel close to canals lined with bars restaurants etc
Breakfast room had a fantastic view the hustle & bustle of downtown Utrecht.
Thank you for a pleasant stay

We had a really nice stay at the Apollo Hotel. The staff was more than friendly, the rooms clean and a had nice view over the city. Breakfast was roomservice because of the lockdown, but you get a list where you can choose from what you would like to have and they bring it to the room.Perfect! We will definately come back👍👍

I stayed 2 nights 5/11/21 and 6/11/21 - really impressed with my room and the facilities. Unusually for a hotel the breakfast €15 was really really good. I was there for a conference, close to station and handy for lovely restaurants, shopping and interesting tours. I can recommend the canal tour - really interesting and a beautiful place.

Unfortunately, this was one of my lesser hotel experiences. I had booked (and paid for) a room but walked away frustrated during check-in because of the receptionist's attitude. Here's my story in brief:
Upon arrival, I was asked to pay the tourist tax. I noted that I had anticipated this since I had also paid these costs on-site during my stay at the same hotel the previous week; however, the booking had stated that the price included all taxes and fees. It wasn't about the amounts (just a few euros). My comment was intended as feedback, so the hotel could better align the information on the booking sites with reality. The staff member immediately became defensive and claimed I was wrong and that the problem was with the booking sites. As if I had made a mistake.
After this unpleasant reception, I went to my room. I had specifically looked for a hotel room with a larger bed for more space around me and had found a twin bed online at Leonardo. However, upon arrival, it turned out to be a single bed, pushed against the wall. When I mentioned downstairs that I had booked a twin bed, I was told that I was wrong according to her system. A kind of blaming discussion ensued, stating I could have known this because I had been there the previous week (although I had a different room with a double bed then). I could get another room, but for an extra charge. When she asked me to send a screenshot, I pressed forward in my confirmation email and handed her my phone to enter the email address. Apparently, my attitude was not right: she said she would refused to help me further this way. She was busy enough (I was the only guest at the reception at that time). I did not use a single rude word and simply spoke in a calm tone. The approach of blaming the other first, responding gruffly and unfriendly, and then making accusations was unacceptable to me. I left and booked a hotel room elsewhere, where taxes and fees were indeed included in the online paid amount. It was anything but a relaxing evening in preparation for my next workday.
For comparison, my hotel experience from the previous week: the room was decent, somewhat dated, but the location is ideal next to the station. The staff were much friendlier and more polite then. My stay was otherwise satisfactory.

The bed was not very comfortable, the bathroom was relatively clean, but not super clean, at least you would expect that for a 4 stars hotel. However, the biggest problem for me, was the noise. Windows are not isolating the outside noise, every 5 minutes a bus was passing by the room. At least in the reception, they provided you with earplugs... Only if you ask

We stayed in this hotel with friends. The hotel is right in the walking area at the city center with lots of shopping and dining options. The rooms are in good size but needs renovation as it smells humidity. The car parking is not available at the hotel as it is a restricted area but they offer parking at a garage which is 10-15 minute walking distance. The front desk is friendly and responsive for any assistance needed. I am not sure if there is any better alternative but this is still an acceptable option.

This hotel has several pros - the location can't be beaten for how central it is and my single room was huge with a good bathroom and comfortable bed. I didn't try the breakfast but it was reasonably priced compared to where I ate out. Staff were friendly.
The major con for me was the noise at night - I know it's a city centre hotel but it felt like I didn't have windows in my room + I was several floors up + there wasn't tonnes of people/cars out on the street. I wouldn't have been able to sleep without ear plugs. I've stayed on much busier streets before but the windows must have clearly had better glazing/insulation properties.
If you do stay here, I'd try and request a room away from the road as I'm sure that would have been better - as I was only staying two nights, it didn't seem worth requesting to move rooms.

Yes you can park first, keep the ticket and than go to the hotel. You have to tell them about your ticket. Then you can ask for the discount. I cannot remember What the cost are sorry.
Dear guest,
We don't have a smoking room.
No carparking. I walked from the railway station and did not need carparking. A taxi rank is at the front door.
Dear TA72712,
Thank you for your question. All rooms have private bathrooms but not all of them have airconditioning. Only the deluxe and clubrooms have airconditioning. And they are not locked but free to use for every room which features airconditioning. Hopefully this answered your question. If there is anything else we can help you with please let us know. You can also contact us per email or Phone.
Kind regards,
