We stayed here for the 3rd time, on New Year's Eve. Fantastic hotel for couples of all ages. Even though we knew things would be different this time, with Corona, we still enjoyed it and it was great to 'get away'. We'd paid for an upgrade to a comfort room but were given a free upgrade to a deluxe room. We've stayed in one of these rooms before and they are extremely comfortable with a separate toilet in the room. Housecoats and slippers, together with a free minibar was fantastic. Brilliant any time of the year. We love the facilities downstairs. Pool and billiards table, gym, wellness centre, darts etc...All included in the price. (Besides the wellness centre at the moment which is payable, because of Corona.) The food in the restaurant is lovely and well presented and a wide intl. choice. More than enough to choose from at breakfast and nice and fresh. Outside of Corona rules, the bar is lovely to sit at and the staff are very friendly. Reception staff always have a smile and a lovely greeting for you. We'll be back again for sure.

Despite all covid regulations, we absolutely enjoyed our stay in Carlton President. We visited the hotel with our 3 months old son, and my sisters family. We were able to book the hotel SPA for a private visit for 29.95 euro (1 hour) including a mocktail and bathrope. Breakfast forms (a la carte) can be hand in to the ladies behind the front desk. The next morning you receive a phone call to pick up your order from the restaurant (at your requested time). There is also a menu available for in-rooming dining. Works the same way as breakfast. You order dinner at the front desk, and you receive a phonecall when dinner is ready. All staff is very friendly and willing to do the extra mile. As already mentioned in the title; Despite all covid regulations, we fully enjoyed our stay!

The location was perfect just 20 mins from Utrecht and 50 mins from Amsterdam with public transport so regular and just a 2 min walk away from the hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful, it's peaceful, has amazing spa facilities such as a jacuzzi, sauna, Turkish bath, bath robes and slippers provided. The hotel also has a gym, games room and pool/snooker room as well as a library in the dining area. The staff are so professional yet friendly, welcoming and very willing to help where needed. It was my first time in The Netherlands and on this experience I will be returning again and have no hesitation in recommending The Carlton President Hotel.

When I go to a 4* Hotel I am expecting high standards. We had a couple of requests like exchanging complimentary drinks for different ones or be seated next to the fireplace while was empty, also we requested to drink our own bottle of wine at the bar paying a fee in exchange. None of our requests were taking into consideration. On the other hand, we really enjoy the food from the restaurant. It was very tasty.

In your case it really is disappointing that we missed out on it. Your request was to exchange the complimentary mocktails in to glasses of wine. Unfortunately we do not serve alcohol near the spa and sauna to avoid health issues. We should have mentioned this more clear and should have offered you to serve this afterwards in the restaurant. Our last minute decision to spend an extended weekend in Utrecht led us to the Carlton President. There was little accommodation available in the centre of Utrecht. While originally being somewhat concerned about our hotel being in the outskirts, it turned out really well, as the hotel is on the bus route which goes directly to the centre of town. Thus, little walking was required and the bus trip took about 20 minutes one way.
The quiet room offered really comfortable beds. The leisure centre offered nice entertainment and a lovely area to relax in.

Located outside the city, it offers a quiet enviroment during the weekends specially. Good services onsite, and restaurant and bar are really good. 2 nights, super friendly staff, nice room. We were able to feel "normal" and safe during this times.

Room: The room was clean and spacious. The combination of colours and poor lighting makes the room look dull, dimly lit, and shadowy. The bed was too soft, sagging in the middle. You can control cooling in the room but not heating. There was a lot of road noise from the A2, even with the windows closed.
Reception: The lobby had a horrible odour / smell of sewage, which is not a good first impression. Thankfully the smell did not spread beyond the lobby. Reception staff were friendly, polite and happy to help.
Restaurant / Bar: The restaurant / bar were probably the best aspect of this hotel. The food is presented with care and taste great, the staff were attentive and the bar is well stocked.

We booked a night as I saw an offer: free parking, 3 course dinner and breakfast for 129. We hoped restaurants would be open again during Easter, but they weren’t. Despite the lockdown and the restaurants being closed we were still able to ‘eat out’ in our room. We had to get our courses by ourselves at the resraurant and bring it to our room. This opportunity It felt so good, I really missed it as all restaurants are closed for 6 months due to lockdown. Breakfast was great! and they also have the opportunity to book a private wellness(during lockdown). I booked too late and reservations were full, but in the end they called me that one spot got left as I added myself on the waiting list. I loved it!! The place is also beautiful decorated!

Really disappointed in this hotel. The rooms r spacious and clean and the design feels nice if you like the style. The beds r actually confortable and the pillows too but unfortunately some things were really wrong. I checked in in the afternoon and found out the hotels facade is in renovation - i was doing video calls for work with drilling and heavy work noise outside my window until the end of the afternoon… I went then to check the spa which is advertised but unfortunately you have access to the spa only from 7am until 1pm. The rest for the time u need to book and pay for it (private session). Diner at the hotel was nice and u do get a discount voucher when you book directly. The room I stayed in (24) was looking over the parking and it seems there was activity on the parking until quite late (the windows sound insulation r very bad). Breakfast was nice with good classic options and the possibility to have fresh orange juice. Unfortunately I had to check out earlier than expected because the work on the facade started again at 8 and I wasn’t able to focus on my work anymore. I did mention it to the receptionist at check out who just told me they don’t have any idea when the work will be finished. I think I would give it a chance again in a few months but for now I’ll stay away from this hotel when visiting Utrecht - the experience really doesn’t match the quite high price.

Worst nights sleep ever, the beds existed out of a very thin mattress, it’s very hard to lay on, we woke up a couple times per night because of back pains etc. Would not recommend staying here due to the beds, it’s the most important thing about a hotel. One24 restaurant was okay, but we had to wait very long for someone to come take our drink and food orders, while it was fairly empty in the restaurant around 1pm. Location was not great, you have to take a 20 minute bus ride to get to the city.

1. Is the city center is at walking distance?
>> Definitely not, you need a car or public transportation to get there.
2. Are there late night buses to the city center and back?
Check the local public transportation websites.
3. How's the gym like? does it have free weights, punching bag and ext. ?
No idea, call/email the hotel.
4. Is there a pool?
Dont think so but just in case, call/email the hotel.

There is absolutely easy excess from this hotel to Utretch city center. Taxi can be easily booked from very helpful hotel front desk person, besides there's bus pass through this hotel. I'm not sure about tram but public bus will definitely available at walking distance from hotel area. I do remember few of customers who stay here on the same day with me were having their conference and meeting in the city. I believe this hotel should be one of the best location choosen for that reason. Enjoy your stay.
Yes it is free,but before leaving the parking you have to ask a parking ticket at the reception wich you can use just once to get back on the parking of the hotel.So if you leave the parking for a second time at the same day you have to ask another one!
